Do you see people who, after trying acupuncture, biofeedback, yoga, many types of bodywork, epidurals, nerve blocks--you get the idea--have been managing chronic pain fairly successfully with opioids? I'm looking for a PCP as my MD@kaiser has retired

Your history is a very common among my patients. You would fit right in. Have you been to my website?…

Joe has a confident, yet gentle touch. The work may seem subtle but it has profoundly positive effects. Joe also gave me effective ideas to incorporate into my daily routine. He clearly wants you to be able to take control of and manage your own well being. Prices are very reasonable and the office environment is calm and soothing. I highly recommend Joe's work without hesitation.

At times he seemed to go far beyond what one…read morewould normally expect from a practitioner, but he also seemed extraordinarily thin-skinned and threatened to stop treating me a couple of times because he imagined some kind of danger where none existed. What ultimately happened was far more disturbing. I was bedridden, extremely vulnerable, and during one treatment I opened up emotionally while he was working with me. Nothing I shared was unusual or inappropriate. He walked out of the room. I assumed he had gone to put coins in the parking meter, but he never came back. Afterward, he never responded to my emails or phone calls. I was desperate for some explanation and closure after being left that exposed, and at the time I still wanted him to continue working with me. I have lived with a complex structural medical problem for many years and have encountered a great deal of cruelty and unprofessional behavior, but Joe's conduct still stands out. Abandoning a bedridden patient in an acutely vulnerable moment without a word, and then refusing all communication, was profoundly cruel, immature, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, I also think this reflects on the practice as a whole. I wish Mari provided better professional guidance to ensure that a patient was never treated this way. There are many glowing reviews here, and perhaps others had very different experiences. This was mine, and after all these years I believe it deserves to be part of the record.

Kylie's knowledge on the body and how to heal it is superb! Her passion to help particular prenatal & postpartum women truly shows. I've been to several other osteopaths in the last 15 years, and I thought I'd give Kylie a try. Her bedside manner is terrible, and on top of that she is not professional. The "treatment" consisted of her putting her arms under my bacK and not moving them whatsoever except for once when she also moved a finer, this for about 20 min. Then she stopped and left me on the table for another 20 min while she CHECKED HER EMAILS RIGHT NEXT TO ME! I was confused and felt like speaking up, but I remained open minded...besides, I had paid for an 1.5hr initial consultation and there was still some time left for something else to happen. When she did finally get back to me for the last 2 mins or so, she did the same thing and simply asked "how does that feel?" I was honest and as said "I don't feel like anything changed, bUt hopefully I feel the benefIts of the treatment later," as I awkwardly got up and she left the room only saying "I'll meet you outside". I was baffled. I left with the impression that she has very little knowledge of what she's doinG, and was simply trying to kill time during these extended initial consultations. She seems to lack concern and has a very unfriendly/cold demeanor.

I met her over 12 years ago and found her again when I moved back to the bay; she has helped facilitate major healing and transformation in my life, on all fronts. Dr. Brown's attitude is clear, straight, and unemotional in a good way. I had two sessions before yesterday and prior to yesterday left wondering what if anything was accomplished. Yesterday after a 45 minute session, I was absolutely astounded at my body's response to her treatment. She replied that in a way she didn't do anything except listen to my body, and assist in it's own healing of itself. I left in a wondrous state of consciousness: one of clarity and openness with my body literally breathing itself. I could feel my breath and for lack of a better word, my life force or chi running from my feet to my head as if traveling through an empty bamboo flute. My neck and back hurt as always but somehow I sensed that the "life force" was now accessible to those areas that had been blocked. I could easily go on and on here for the experience was totally different from my mind's "evaluation" of her treatment. What I can say is that I have found a true healer in Dr. Brown - a person that intuitively senses the body, respects it's current state, and somehow encourages it to let go of holding and withdrawal and then allow it's own innate wisdom to heal itself. Dr. Brown is the midwife holding the space and encouraging all to happen in it's own time with it's own wisdom. What a difference from standard allopathic medicine where it is the practioner that thinks they know what is best rather than myself. I encourage you to take advantage of this wonderful healer - and stick with her as if you are at all like me, it takes a few visits to realize that real healing is actually happening. Ten Stars!

I called the Sutter number listed for this location from my car to let them know what was happening and they told me they'll let the office know and no problem. Sutter has a 15-min late policy which allows them to cancel your appointment if you're late. I walked in 14 minutes into my appointment time. After checking in and waiting to see the doctor, I was told that Dr.Wallace decided to cancel my appointment. I was shocked! I asked to speak to Dr. Wallace, but I was told she needed to leave early that day and was filling out paperwork. I waited to speak to the clinic manager and complained that my appointment should not be cancelled because a doctor wants to leave early on a Friday afternoon and that I was not technically late. She explained that I was, because the checking in process took about 2-3 minutes. I had a time sensitive medical reason why I needed to see a PCP and waited weeks for that appointment. I was crying uncontrollably in the lobby and requested again to just speak to the doctor briefly, but she refused and did not care. It is a terrible feeling to deal with a medical problem and feel that no one is willing to help you. I cannot imagine that a doctor who treats any of her patients in this careless way can be an effective or empathetic caretaker.

Afterward it's like stepping out of a piping hot sauna on a cool day, like something different you can't quite put a finger on but it feels great. My thinking improved. I had more clarity without struggling for it. I have chemobrain and NFB helped. I could remember words faster. That's a typical symptom of chemo brain, to lose words that you know. In my case they are complicated words, like gaslighting, that I couldn't remember this morning. Or the name of the street near me. Crazy, but it's a real thing and it will drive you nuts. If you are on chemo, NFB helps noticeably. It helps with clarity in general, and for being able to keep track of thoughts and where you put something you had in your hand just a second ago. An interesting thing is that NFB is so gentle that, as I said before, you can't quite put your finger on exactly what's better. UNTIL YOU LOSE IT. I haven't had a session for months and may never be able to go back. :( The truth is I miss it bc of Covid-19. I'm sure Carleigh has set up social distancing in her office and is being very careful to protect clients' safety. But because I'm so extremely vulnerable I have to find out from my doc if it's safe for me personally. If it is I will be back for more. The more you do the more it helps. Worth every penny and Carleigh will work with you on the price if necessary. She is a kind woman with a huge heart which I think makes a difference, but the NFB itself is what counts the most imo. Thank you, Carleigh, for all the love and effort you put into our community.
