Ordered over the phone. Arrived 20 minutes later and was handed hot food that was yummy! I don't know Thai food very well but what I tasted was good! I wished I had gotten the brown rice I saw in the pictures, I didn't know I needed to ask for it, but that's okay:) cute on the outside, smallish on the inside! Super friendly over the phone!!!

The Mandalay Curry is AMAZING!! Full of spices and ingredients with a rich flavor. Some places skimp on services and veggies but not PATRA! Huge serving for takeout!! The chicken potstickers were delicious especially the sauce! When I called with a question before placing a takeout order, the people I spoke to were so kind and helpful. Definitely our new go to spot for a yummy meal!!! Thank you PATRA!! Just wonderful all the way around!

while exploring downtown Upland last week I came across Patra Dining. Joyce I think was her name had such a warm and welcoming persona I had to order something even though I was not too hungry. First off the interior vibes in here are extraordinary. I have been to many Thai restaurants including in Thailand and never saw one as cool and modern as this place. Loved the stone walls and decor. This is a perfect date night spot. The menu has the traditional dishes you would expect but there are plenty of foodie options and fusion dishes as well. I ordered an appetizer, some pillowy potato type pockets. I would compare them to indian samosas but better. Soft and doughy stuffed with potatoes and thai spices. the sauces are all original recipes and oh so delicious. I look forward to exploring the menu. I can tell this will be my fav Thai spot from now on. Amazing vibes, owner is so friendly and the food is outstanding.

I'm very much liking Patra's approach to their inspired cuisine. They're not afraid to experiment with new dishes and everything we've tried has merit. Best, tho, is the great personal service. Nice, too, is the ample parking nearby. Casual ambiance with a bit of upscale class.

Excellent, refreshing salad, with Joyce's homemade sweet soy vinaigrette sauce. No MSG is used in any item(s) on the menu.

Exceptional food, wonderful friendly service, and amazing ambiance. Will be back again. Joyce was a pleasure to meet, she gave you warm and welcoming vibes.

Stopped in because of the high reviews....the restaurant was pretty nice for a Thai fusion place with a modern decor and a patio dining area. Service was friendly and efficient. We ordered the Pad Kee Mow with chicken and the Mandalay Curry with Chicken (Yellow curry elsewhere). Additionally, their "iced teas" are of a decent assortment - I had the butterfly pea tea which is not a common find. the Pad Kee mow was good with a light amount of spiciness (very light). The Mandalay curry though was a little more on the watery side... the odd thing about this "fusion" place is that you don't get your usual choice of meats for you dishes-all they have is chicken, tofu or shrimp- maybe cause healthiness?

Not bad, the wife liked the curry, the ribs were really delicious definitely that was a 5. My noodles were good just not as good as the place I go usually in Eastville. Service was excellent and I believe chief or owner came to check on us and she was really nice. This place was closer to 3.5-3,8 stars.

My Friends and I dined at Patra Dining in Downtown Upland last night. If you are in the mood for Thai Food, give them a try. We started off with chicken pot stickers. They were tasty on their own but the sauce that was included made them just right. I savored every bite. For my main course, I had Pad Prik Sod. It's not on the menu but I happened to mention to Joyce, the owner, that I had tried the dish at another restaurant and liked it. She told me that they could do that for me. Okay, let's do that! It's a beef dish that's cooked with onions and jalapenos. Joyce suggested adding broccoli and carrots so that's what we went with. It was a good combination. Very flavorful. I had white rice on the side. Other dishes ordered included Braised Short Ribs, Pineapple Fried Rice, Thai Barbecue Ribs, Joyce's Salmon (not pictured), and some sort of a yellow curry dish that wasn't on the menu (also, not pictured). I tasted the Braised Short Ribs. The piece of beef that I had, tasted kind of like my mom's beef stew (a good thing). I also tasted the curry dish too. I'm not a huge fan of curry but that wasn't bad actually. I heard that the Thai Barbecue Ribs and Joyce's Salmon were very good too. So, once again, if you are in the mood for Thai Food, I highly recommend Patra Dining in Downtown Upland. Joyce and Steven are both incredibly hospitable, the food is delicious, the ambiance is cozy, and the prices are very reasonable.

The minute we walked in, we knew it was going to be a great experience. Joyce the owner is very warm and friendly. The food was fresh and really delicious. It's so hard to find a really good, local Thai place and I think I found my go to Thai spot! Everything was amazing here. We got pineapple fried rice and a couple curries. That curry broth was thiccc, as it should be. The curries were rich in flavor and high quality, as well as their Thai tea (not watered down or premix). Service was great too. Our server was so sweet & attentive. Highly recommend! read more

This small business located in the heart of downtown Upland is delicious and the dining experience is so relaxing. The low lighting and soothing music makes the experience above and beyond. The staff is also very friendly and attentive. Our cup was never empty and they packed our leftovers so neatly. The Thai ribs are incredible and served with a delicious side of sauce that you'll want to dip everything. The classic pad see ew was delicious and could be served with chicken, shrimp, and even tofu! I can't wait to go back and try different dishes. What an absolutely fantastic restaurant. Fantastic Thai food and great service. The owner was so sweet. She took the time to come over to our table, welcomed us to Upland and graciously provided us with a welcome to the neighborhood dessert. There should be more restaurants like this where the owner takes the time to meet their customers and make sure their experience is 100% to their satisfaction. Tried this place for the first time yesterday. So friendly, great service. I had chow mein noodles with chicken and the green papaya salad. Both quite good. The noodles had a bit of sweetness when i wasn't expecting that but it was not overwhelming. The salad was really good and fresh but I thought just a bit pricey but a nice portion. I will go back to try other items. The lunch special was a good price. read more

This is a former 50-Fifty restaurant from Claremont. Same management, same great quality of Asian food! We were so happy to discover that we can still order our favorites: Madalay Curry and Fried Rice - there is nothing in the radius of a 100 miles that can compare to that! Highly recommend! read more

We've been her nearly a dozen times now and everything we've ordered has been delicious!!! Joyce, the owner, creates all the recipes and is absolutely charming to chat with. To right I had the Tom Yum Sea Bass which was tender and flavorful. Joyce's Salmon is one of our favorites and the curries are all fantastic. The mango sticky rice dessert is out of this world and they serve my Singha, my favorite Thai beer. So glad this restaurant is in Upland! read more

Best Thai curries EVER. literally no others compare. The green curry and Joyce's salmon were to die for. Also such a unique item in the veggie puffs - super fresh and light. Wonderful food for people with a yen for Thai/Asian/American yumminess. The owner/chef, Joyce Patra, is a phenomenal restaurateur whose personal warmth makes delightful memories for her guests. She is the same entrepreneur who succeeded with Bangkok Blue in La Verne and Fifty-50 Asian Fusion in Claremont. I came here a few weeks with my family and the food was delicious. I believe the person who helped us that day was the owner, she was the sweetest person, took care of everything we needed. She constantly checked on us and seriously made us feel so special, from the warm greeting we received to how delicious the food was, it honestly felt that food was made with love, the experience reminded me of visiting a family member who you haven't seen in a while but is equally excited to see and feed you! My sister and I had the pleasure of joining our Mother's 'Out to Lunch Bunch' at Patra, a charming new Thai restaurant in Downtown Upland, where we enjoyed a wonderful lunch. Notably, Patra's restaurant just six weeks old, boasts fine dining with owner Joyce Patra personally preparing all dishes from scratch. She offers sake, beer and wine and specialty teas. As well as Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite. I enjoyed the Thai green curry with chicken and white rice, delicious! I can't wait to go back. All the ladies loved the variety of food they ordered. I would highly recommend Patra Thai Dining in downtown Upland. The food is great. Joyce the owner always comes out to thank the customers at the end of the meal. The staff sincerely appreciates the business. The ambiance is classy and arty. My favorite entree is the Spicy Cashew Chicken. It is more delightfully tangy than spicy. There is plenty of chicken offered plus broccoli, carrots, and cashews, and your choice of white or brown rice. I visit once a week, and the prices are quite reasonable. read more

This place has fantastic food! We've been there twice now, and each time our whole party was happy with everything they ordered. The service is excellent, and the staff is friendly and attentive. One of our party has Celiac disease, and the staff was very knowledgeable with their recommendations for which menu items would be safe for them. This a comfortable restaurant that has a nice ambiance for either a date night or a night with friends. We will definitely be returning! read more

I have been a fan of Joyce for many years. The food will be familiar to those who knew her former restaurant in Claremont, but to my taste it is even better. We had a large party there last night to celebrate my birthday, and Joyce's, which falls on the same night. It was a wonderful evening--food, service, ambiance--the whole works. Her signature Green Curry never fails. The spring rolls were crispy as they should be. Because it was a week night, we were able to rent the whole place. Sing, dance, the whole works. Highest recommendations whether you are having lunch for 2 or a dinner party for 20. read more

I found myself in that limbo again where I was thirsty after my first can and I had to decide if it was worth it to pay for yet another soda. Lastly, the ambiance was good. There's ample space here without feeling crowded to the tables next to you. I definitely get the sense you could relax with a book here after your meal. But, overall, even though the food tastes great, the lack of equitable protein for the price and the lack of refills on a soda make this place only okay. If u ever come back I think one or both of those aspects would have to change.

The looks we received made us feel like we didn't belong there, and that isn't how any customer should feel when trying a new restaurant. We eventually got up and left to eat next door, where we were immediately welcomed and served. It's unfortunate because we had been looking forward to trying Barcuso, but based on this experience, we won't be returning
