Ordered over the phone. Arrived 20 minutes later and was handed hot food that was yummy! I don't know Thai food very well but what I tasted was good! I wished I had gotten the brown rice I saw in the pictures, I didn't know I needed to ask for it, but that's okay:) cute on the outside, smallish on the inside! Super friendly over the phone!!!

The Mandalay Curry is AMAZING!! Full of spices and ingredients with a rich flavor. Some places skimp on services and veggies but not PATRA! Huge serving for takeout!! The chicken potstickers were delicious especially the sauce! When I called with a question before placing a takeout order, the people I spoke to were so kind and helpful. Definitely our new go to spot for a yummy meal!!! Thank you PATRA!! Just wonderful all the way around!

while exploring downtown Upland last week I came across Patra Dining. Joyce I think was her name had such a warm and welcoming persona I had to order something even though I was not too hungry. First off the interior vibes in here are extraordinary. I have been to many Thai restaurants including in Thailand and never saw one as cool and modern as this place. Loved the stone walls and decor. This is a perfect date night spot. The menu has the traditional dishes you would expect but there are plenty of foodie options and fusion dishes as well. I ordered an appetizer, some pillowy potato type pockets. I would compare them to indian samosas but better. Soft and doughy stuffed with potatoes and thai spices. the sauces are all original recipes and oh so delicious. I look forward to exploring the menu. I can tell this will be my fav Thai spot from now on. Amazing vibes, owner is so friendly and the food is outstanding.

I'm very much liking Patra's approach to their inspired cuisine. They're not afraid to experiment with new dishes and everything we've tried has merit. Best, tho, is the great personal service. Nice, too, is the ample parking nearby. Casual ambiance with a bit of upscale class.

Excellent, refreshing salad, with Joyce's homemade sweet soy vinaigrette sauce. No MSG is used in any item(s) on the menu.

Stopped in because of the high reviews....the restaurant was pretty nice for a Thai fusion place with a modern decor and a patio dining area. Service was friendly and efficient. We ordered the Pad Kee Mow with chicken and the Mandalay Curry with Chicken (Yellow curry elsewhere). Additionally, their "iced teas" are of a decent assortment - I had the butterfly pea tea which is not a common find. the Pad Kee mow was good with a light amount of spiciness (very light). The Mandalay curry though was a little more on the watery side... the odd thing about this "fusion" place is that you don't get your usual choice of meats for you dishes-all they have is chicken, tofu or shrimp- maybe cause healthiness?

Not bad, the wife liked the curry, the ribs were really delicious definitely that was a 5. My noodles were good just not as good as the place I go usually in Eastville. My Friends and I dined at Patra Dining in Downtown Upland last night. If you are in the mood for Thai Food, give them a try. We started off with chicken pot stickers. They were tasty on their own but the sauce that was included made them just right. I savored every bite. For my main course, I had Pad Prik Sod. It's not on the menu but I happened to mention to Joyce, the owner, that I had tried the dish at another restaurant and liked it. She told me that they could do that for me. Okay, let's do that! It's a beef dish that's cooked with onions and jalapenos. Joyce suggested adding broccoli and carrots so that's what we went with. It was a good combination. Very flavorful. I had white rice on the side. Other dishes ordered included Braised Short Ribs, Pineapple Fried Rice, Thai Barbecue Ribs, Joyce's Salmon (not pictured), and some sort of a yellow curry dish that wasn't on the menu (also, not pictured). I tasted the Braised Short Ribs. The piece of beef that I had, tasted kind of like my mom's beef stew (a good thing). I also tasted the curry dish too. I'm not a huge fan of curry but that wasn't bad actually. I heard that the Thai Barbecue Ribs and Joyce's Salmon were very good too. So, once again, if you are in the mood for Thai Food, I highly recommend Patra Dining in Downtown Upland. Joyce and Steven are both incredibly hospitable, the food is delicious, the ambiance is cozy, and the prices are very reasonable.

My husband and I tried Patra Dining in downtown Upland last night. It was unbelievable. The atmosphere is great, nice music, terrific ambiance but the star of the show is the amazing food! Really good Asian food, made fresh with no MSG. We started with the veggie puffs and then ordered two entrees, the Pad See Eww Noodles and Mandalay Curry. We seriously loved all of it. The service was exceptional and the owner/chef Joyce was really nice greeting all of her customers. We can't wait to go back, I want to try everything on the menu. A really nice addition to the downtown Upland scene. read more

Amazing Thai food! I grew up eating Thai food and this spot is great. Great atmosphere, cozy, great selection of dishes. Plenty of options and they are all incredible. My wife and I had Ming's wings, pad see ew, and the pineapple fried rice. Each dish was incredible, especially the wings. If you are in the upland area it's a great Thai spot to check out! I just found my go to Thai restaurant. It's on the corner towards the back of the building next to parking lot and a sign is not visible (being installed) because the business is just three weeks old. Had some of the best yellow curry ever (Mandalay) and Pad Thai that I didn't think I'd like but it was fantastic. And ordered basil one of my favorite Thai dish, krapow basil dish. They were willing to make it the way I like it. I took leftovers home and ate them for dinner since I enjoyed it so much. Just wow. read more

My friends and I dined on a Monday for lunch. It is street parking. Service is remarkable and food was delicious. We met the personable owner/chef, Patra. I went back with a companion for dinner but we couldn't get seats as there was a celebration and other diners. The restaurant is new to the area and I hope they do well. read more

Beautiful, delicious food. Warm, inviting welcome and service. Very pretty room. I loved the crisp, fresh vegetables in my chicken chow mein and my friend raved about her curry. Lunch here made me happy. The salad vinaigrette was noteworthy and pleasant. The curry was great, the spicy noodles delicious. This is a new restaurant in Upland and an incredible find. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. It has great Ambiance and atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed while eating. Superb Thai and Asian influenced cuisine. Joyce and her staff are the best. One of the few restaurants where the music is soft and is always classy, most often authentic jazz piano. The ambiance is a perfect match. Plenty of free parking on the street and in several adjacent lots. read more

This dining experience was fantastic from start to finish. Upon entering, you are welcomed by beautiful, upscale dining. On the right is a very unique wall installation that provides ambiance and a misty vibe. The owner, Joyce greeted us and we were quickly served ice water and our salad course, we then had some veggie spring rolls and finished with the mandalay curry and shrimp fried rice. The curry was hands down the BEST curry I've ever had....and I've eaten many different curry dishes. It was velvety smooth, perfect amount of heat, piping hot, tender veggies and premium white chicken. Eat spoonful was better than the next. Each bite was like a warm hug for my soul. It was a very generous portion and I devoured it all...against my better judgement. I will be back to try everything else on the menu! Highly recommend. read more

Last night we returned again to Patra a sublime oasis of joyful dining in historic downtown Upland. We were with a large party of friends and ate family style. Every dish was beautifully presented, delicious and addictive. I particularly liked the yellow curry, but there was a shrimp noodle dish that I couldn't stop dipping into. The service was wonderful and celebratory. If you are looking for that family birthday or anniversary party place - this is your spot. And, they are making improvements outside so that they will be ready for summer. I can't say enough about how lucky we are to have this delicious food, beautiful setting, thoughtful owner and great parking all in little downtown Upland. read more

I ordered the bbq chicken and pad see ew with shrimp. It took at least 20 to 30 minutes to get our meal with only 2 other tables taken before we were seated. I was really surprised there was not much flavor. Absolutely no seasoning on the vegetables and the chicken was plain. The pad see ew was okay but I've had better. For the wait and price, I expected more. A very limited menu with no pad thai. Thai food is known for their herbs and seasoning. Unfortunately I didn't find this place very authentic Thai food. The owner was kind enough to comp my meal due to my disappointment. The reviews are all 5 stars and I was really bummed this will not be my Thai go to place. read more

The food and service were excellent! The owner, Joyce, prepared a special curry dish for me given my dietary restrictions, and it was so flavorful, fresh, and delicious. It is evident that Joyce takes great pride in the ingredients she uses and the dishes she prepares. We have now made three trips here in less than two weeks, and we will certainly keep coming back! When we first walked in, the place looked empty, and my wife and I almost considered leaving. Just as we were about to head out, a server came over, seated us, and explained the menu. The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.

The lack of service was disappointing, but what made it worse was how unwelcome we felt from the moment we walked in. The looks we received made us feel like we didn't belong there, and that isn't how any customer should feel when trying a new restaurant. We eventually got up and left to eat next door, where we were immediately welcomed and served. It's unfortunate because we had been looking forward to trying Barcuso, but based on this experience, we won't be returning

She accommodated every single one of us, never messing up or mixing up the orders, when ask for extras, she got them out immediately and to add to all of this the food was excellent. Great Thai food in downtown Upland on C St. I usually go for lunch with friends. Last night enjoyed dinner with a guest. Started with vegetable dumplings and tasty salad with ginger dressing.
