I was immediately impressed by the expertly curated vintage decor with each furnishing and artwork playing beautifully off the other wonderful pieces. The vibe was elevated vintage glamour with tasteful restraint, with a punch of statement color. The prices were, in my opinion, quite reasonable for the unique and hard to find treasures of the past, especially in light of the effort that went into finding complementary furnishings that shoppers could buy in a suite and place in their home for instant fabulousness. I met a darling Havanese pup that was relaxing at the back of the store who likes to give kisses. In looking at the Thomas Troy website I see they specialize in many other things as well, including renovation, construction, design and project management services. I have always found the staff, friendly and helpful. A year ago, I decided to move to Palm Desert and and continued my Residential Interior Design here. I've been to the store a few times. I am not sure what is happening at this location, "Palm Desert CA " , but the staff looks extremely unhappy. specifically one gentleman who calls himself the store manager but he is not. I have seen him picking fights with different clients almost every time I go there. I have tried to strike a friendly note with him, trying to calm him down. At one occasion, out loud, he was telling a client that his job is what people call "choose wisely" at the beginning of ones career. Once he was staring down at a client to a point where the lady started yelling " Are you staring me down? may I talk to your manager?" With a great attitude, he responded, "you are talking to him." Long story short, last time I was there I was doing heavy shopping for a 85 year-old woman. Nothing big knickknacks and kitchen items and Home Staples. I was doing a small project for her here at the desert. she has various ailments and I had to be careful choosing the right products for her, which is light enough and easy to operate. Thus it took me over two hours in the store to do selection of various items.. I think that had raised a red flag with the staff. I was treated so poorly there. I had over five workers approaching me and asking " can we help you with something? it seems you've been here for a long time . Every time I would respond, yes I am buying for a client. I need to make the right selections for to clients situation. Sorry this takes time. I do understand store security is important and shrinkage is a problem, but not everybody is a thief . I do believe I dress up nicely and present present not like a bum, so not sure what the issue was ? At the end, yes, the same man approached me aggressively with the same question. May we hrlp you? You have been here for a long time . I broke out in anger, saying "is there a problem sir? " I'm buying over $800 worth of products here. Nevertheless, I was followed by him until I went to the checkpoint and paid for the products and left the building. Funny enough, he knows me from previous purchases from him, which always has been over five to $600. I tried to make a complaint to their head offices. I got a email saying that my concern has been sent to the store manager Jennifer Martinez and she will get back with me shortly . This was a month ago and no one did. again, it's a pity. I love the store and most probably I will be shopping at their other locations, but this one definitely has some major staff issues . I will not be returning there. Who would like to be treated like that?......

Visited this store for the first time while in search of antique decor for our houses. I was impressed by the quality of the selection and the variety of eras and styles being sold, such as Art Nouveau, Victorian, Oriental, etc. The sheer volume of attractive wares was stunning, and it was a high pleasure to peruse the aisles of Delany's. I would have given 5 stars but I took one off for price/value as I noticed some items were inappropriately priced. There was a marble top 'antique Empire plant stand' for $425.00 that was not an antique, but a reproduction sold by the Bombay Company. Also, I overheard the sales lady quoting a price of $1,500 or $1,600 (I can't remember the exact amount) for a set of Fall of the Roman Empire books, which I was able to find and purchase on Ebay for $100 that evening. So do your research when you shop here and be sure you are paying the correct price.

I didn't realize we had the option of having the candle making party in our own place - how crazy fun is that?! We booked a Saturday 11:00 am candle making private party in our Airbnb and bought some tiny bites, and setup our mimosa bar! I also bought some flowers, and played some romantic French cafe music .... it was the perfect setting. Ciarra was a wonderful teacher ... very patient! She came early and set everything up for our candle making party. I have done some candle making before with the birthday girl actually, knew a little already but learned so much from Ciarra. It was so fun smelling all the different fragrances and learning how to blend them, and learning about adding colors / blending colors... Besides being so knowledgable, she is so patient and sweet! All of our candles turned out perfectly and we all bickered as to who had the better candle lol... Even my boyfriend who tried to get out of it at first, admitted he had a good time. I was wrong, they have beautiful displays and colors. Whenever I see a home with color coordinated accessories, I wonder where they buy them. It's those little accent pieces that light up a room, from a bookend to picture or carved item on the shelf, you will find something here. I wished they had pre-arranged bouquets in various colors ready to buy. You can, however, select your preferred colors and they can arrange for you.
