We recently bought a home and needed to furnish a brand new house from scratch. We ran into Amy who is a designer and has fabulous taste. We bounced ideas and our concerns, and she came up with some amazing ideas of how to make the home modern and comfortable. She has the ability to order from many vendors and gave us a lot of options. My partner and I have been living in Palm Springs for just a couple of years. We both work in LA and spend the weekends in PS. We have recently ventured out from our usual spots and have been supporting local restaurants and businesses. After breakfast, we decided to take a walk on the main hwy as we are always looking for furniture/ accessories. We came into this business and the woman inside could not be bothered with greeting us whatsoever. Not sure if this was an owner, manager or associate, but we did not feel welcome. They do sell some great pieces, but we were never acknowledged the entire time we were there. Not sure how businesses like this survive with this horrible business model. I could write about the upgraded quality of every piece of furniture and accessories in the store, or I could write about the unique ambiance the minute you walk into this specialty design place; however, both of those important aspects of home design are not as important as the person helping you design. We started our journey with this store four years ago when we bought a Italian Maple dining table made in Italy, like literally shipped from Italy. We loved it and spend so much time around it. I paid a visit to the shop when visiting from Atlanta. Loved all the decor and even paid the shop a second visit to ask some questions. Amy Smith was such a joy to work with. Told her I liked a few wall art pieces but needed to get back home to take measurements. I have since ordered 4 pieces from Interior Illusions and had them all shipped. Amy answered all my questions (and I had a thousand) and was super prompt answering emails. The artwork was packaged and boxed very professionally. My husband and I stopped in the Palm Springs showroom looking for ideas to furnish our Rancho Mirage home which was undergoing a major remodel. We immediately felt that the furniture was the style and quality that would fit the grand scale of the home. Walking through the showroom each piece of furniture was unique in its own way and we could tell the quality was prime. Amy approached us and after a brief introduction she mentioned her very affordable design services as an option. Amy went to our home and measured, and Within 2 weeks we were sitting down with her going over very comprehensive scaled diagrams of each room and renderings of the furnishing selections. I will say that her vision was completely different than mine so there was a level of letting go and trusting required on my part. This is my second time purchasing furniture from Interior Illusions. My first was to decorate a condo and was very happy to find nice contemporary furnishings. I am now building a house and am purchasing furnishings for the house. I thought this would be hard since the house isn't finished but Amy at Interior Illusions helped make it easy. If you are looking for the type of furniture found in a hotel lobby such as what you might see in any Viceroy or Loden (Vancouver) then this might be the place for you. The website is quite appealing with some unique pieces, and the store def. offers some interesting items. But while they all looked pretty cool, I can't say that I'd be in a rush to go out and purchase anything here considering I'm more interested in the mid century modern shops in town. I can appreciate that they sell grand pieces which can be difficult to find, like immense radial mirrors, chandeliers and sofas. Most of the furniture could be described as contemporary masculine with an element of boldly feminine mockery. For example, Victorian style chairs appeared to be coated in a pepto-bismol pink lacquer which made them both unique and interesting. The sales lady was kind and attentive, but I'm sure that she could tell that I wasn't in the mood to buy. *Just a note* - I'd love to see more of these shops offer check-in incentives (as Shag does). Not only does it pique one's interest, but it certainly gives me the incentive to return to purchase...once I'm done paying for the rest of my vacation, that is! read more

Interior Illusions is a chic contemporary home furniture store located inside a large and unique historic building in Uptown Palm Springs. This is one of the nicest new furniture stores I have ever been too! I spotted the coolest vintage style brass bar cart over Memorial Day weekend. And I can just imagine myself at home mixing a Martini on it. It would match my décor perfectly. Definitely what dreams are made of! They also had a huge mirror that would work with my cathedral ceilings. Unfortunately I didn't have a lot of time to browse, (I had lunch reservations outside the city in Palm Desert) but I will be back soon to play with that cart! read more
