I admit I am terrible completing reviews and this one is long overdue and well deserved. From the moment I called the Patio Guy they were professional and thorough. I first spoke with Adam the owner. He then sent Garrett out for a quote since he was out of town during that time. Either way I knew I was in good hands. Garrett was super thorough, passionate about what he does and his attention to detail was much appreciated since I sometimes obsess over how things look visually - they must be balanced and symmetrical. The back of our house is completely flat and therefore we wanted a patio cover that was multilayered and would give our home some depth. We wanted the middle cover to sit higher and over lap the two other patio covers on the outside. The tricky part was the prior owners had already poured the cement and it was contoured and wasn't symmetrical. With Garrett's planning he was able to maximize the concrete space and make it look like the patio cover belonged there! We opted to install two fans with lights on the outer covers and a hanging pendant light in the middle cover. We also had an outlet installed to accommodate string lights and other electronics if needed. Adam was happy to review my fan and lighting selections to make sure they would work for that space and he also stopped by my house just prior to ordering the materials for install just to review the color choices and to make sure they would work with our home color. (The exterior was painted after the initial quote.) Talk about customer service! The patio cover was installed in October 2018. The crew included Garrett, Cory, Charlie and Mike. They were all professional, fast, appeared to enjoy what they do and really put in a full days work! I was amazed how fast they put up the patios. I think it took about a day and a half. Brent also later came back to install one of the fans that were late arriving from the third party I ordered it from. It was no fault of Patio Guy and yet they were happy to come back and install the fan. Again the customer service is fantastic! So far it has been wonderful! With all the rain there has been absolutely no leaking of water at the seem against the house and it was wonderful to sit outside while enjoying some of the rain and not getting wet! I am looking forward to all the shade that this will be providing in the summer months. Adding this cover has added another living area. I rarely leave positive reviews on Yelp because well, customer service isn't what it use to be anymore but I had to leave a note about Adam at Patio Guy. This is the second house he's done for me and I couldn't be more pleased. A little background for reference. My last house was as cookie cutter as you could get from an install perspective. Flat house, straight cuts, easy job for most crews. He did my last house in two days and his workers did a great job. Complete transparency however, one of his workers did leave a sour taste in my mouth on that job but Adam rectified it and made things right which earned him a second job at my Uncle's house where he did a great job there as well. Fast forward 3 years and we moved and bought a new place. I called him and he came out and said it could be done but that it might not be as tall as I would have liked. Well time got the best of me doing other remodels and I had to push back the pergola install 4-6 months later than I had planned. During that time, I priced out 5 other places just to see what other quotes would come in and. I sent pics ahead of time to all of these companies so they knew what they were dealing with before they arrived mind you. These companies all came out in person, took measurements and some provided quotes. Would you believe 3 out of the 5 places told me "we aren't interested in doing this patio covering" and the other two quoted me prices that we UNHEARD of. The 3 that said they weren't interested was because it wasn't a simple job where they could make a fast buck, and the other two I think we hurting because of COVID and tried to take advantage, either way, you know where this story is headed.........I used Adam again at Patio Guy. I had to get Adam to come out a second time and requote the job because the original plan deviated and got larger but the new quote was fair and reasonable and I even had him add a second pergola covering on the front part of the house as well. He sent two of his guys (Brodie and Charlie) who were so great, so professional and so courteous. They picked up the area each day and were pleasant to deal with, which is good since your workers represent the business and they made Adam's company look great. Can't say enough great things about Adam and his crew. To all the other patio cover companies out there that said it was too hard and couldn't be done, shame on you, because Adam and his company did it in 3 days with ZERO issues. Our patio installation just got completed and we love it! (I'll post pics later when the rest of our yard is no longer just dirt.) Our cover is about 16'x45', 2/3 solid and 1/3 lattice; 6 lights and 3 ceiling fans with lights. Our installers, Brody and Charlie, worked very hard and got this done over 2 days. I was fully expecting to have to sequester my animals for 2 days but Brody and Charlie cleaned up so well after the first day, even though they were coming back the next day, I was able to let the pets out the first night. They were professional, were respectful of our property, cleaned the underside of the cover piece by piece, labeled my 3 fan remotes, and really cleaned up well after. Very happy with their work! Our cover is really beautiful. I had good communication with Sidney in the office and they have an automated system that sends texts and keeps you informed, which I liked. I saw someone left a negative review because of the phone being automated and I totally get it that we want a real person to talk with! But I left a message and got a call back right away, so leave a message, don't get discouraged! One piece of wisdom I picked up that I can pass on is to make sure you know where you want your posts. I originally said I wanted a 14' deep patio cover (same size as my patio slab) but then the posts would have been closer in on our slab than I wanted. I was glad Adam, owner, showed me during my estimate exactly where the posts would go. I opted for a 16' deep cover so my posts would be right on the edge of my slab and the cover would go 2' beyond my slab. It costs more but it was worth it. I was even worried it might be too much shade, but it's absolutely perfect. So glad Adam showed me exactly where everything would go with his pocket full of rubber markers!
