I used Morgan shipping last month to ship my personal items from my second apartment in Oxford, UK…read moreto my New York apartment. I called for an estimate and spoke with Jerry who was very helpful in explaining to me all the different options available and pricing for each of them. The price was reasonable, and this was a company paid move, so I opted to go with the full service package, which includes the packing, loading, shipping door-to-door, paperwork at customs, and delivery to my apartment in the city. I have to say that this was all relatively new to me, but it worked really well. MORGAN SHIPPING did a good job, and I am grateful. They gave me a lot of helpful information on how to pack some of my personal items and the crew arrived early and started packing my TV and big items. Then the big truck with the container arrived on my street in Oxford. We had to block the street to be able to get it as close as we did, so we left one guy to watch the traffic. The landlord was not happy with the big truck blocking the street, but these guys were mindful of not scuffing the walls while moving the big stuff, so he was happy with that. Mike, the head crew was the best. He was very patient with me and very efficient with the guys. They worked the entire time without taking a break. My friend was there to help. She enjoyed watching these guys packing so organized. Jerry from the office was checking to make sure everything was fine and that I was up-to-date with the required documentation for exports, etc. After they left, Jerry sent me an email with the arrival of approximately 30 days. When the container arrived in the US, Surina from the customs office was very nice and helpful in explaining the taxes and everything. She got the container delivered the following day with no problems. I have so much stuff that it did not fit into my small New York apartment so I asked them to store a few items for me. In the end, the overall shipping processes door-to-door was about 27 days. I was a little nervous with the process and the move. Moving companies do not carry a good reputation in general and there seems to always be negative experiences no matter whom you speak with. This, I can honestly say, is not one of those instances. I go back and forth between Oxford and New York work constantly for work, and I'll continue to use Morgan Shipping when I need to move my belongings.

She offered to refund the $200 extra that I had to pay, which changed my review from 1/5 to 3/5 thanks to the considerate phone call and the refund. Review: I had a very unprofessional experience. The yelp reviews all seemed good and that's why I picked this company, but it was a bad experience that cost me time and money. I spoke with Kathleen who helped me set up the everything smoothly and I was given a "guaranteed quote" to transport my car from Long Island out west. I gave her a 4 day pick up window trying to ensure the pick up happens before I have to take my flight out. She said that sounds good and they would pick it up within that time range. After calls throughout the week, they finally told me one day before my flight (this was the last day of the pickup time range) that I would need to drop off my car to New Jersey (which is a 2-hour drive) and that it would cost $200 more to ship it. At this point, I had no choice but to agree with them. It was absolutely ridiculous to make me do 5-10% of the moving and to then increase the cost by $200 (or roughly 20%). The only positive was getting my car in 7 days, the driver was good.

Instead board got laid in a truck (MPH admitted) apparently unwrapped and bounced around on a sharp object- apparent from photograph and confirmed by board manufacturer as a common form of damage. (See picture detail of scratches that happen during transport) MPH refuses to reply to my multiple correspondences. Unfortunately, I have to contact an attorney now increasing costs for them. Was willing to settle for refund, repair costs, and additional shipping to manufacturer but now will have to include attorney fees and travel time. See pics of pic up and how board appeared at the shipper. MPH tried to blame shipper but board placed damaged side down by courier hiding from view, shipper reviewed board and contacted me. Update after MPH finally responds on Yelp: Below is MPH's response. Clearly I've posted a picture of their pic up person with the undamaged board and they confirmed this early on yet they still try and claim it may have been previously damaged?? They knew the history and value of the board. That is why I requested a hand carry as it was only a few blocks to the professional packaging and shipping company. I did not send "menacing emails" I offered several fair solutions. (See screengrab of my unanswered emails.) my comment "Sorry it's come to this but I'm an East Coast guy like you and we don't take shit lying down" was a simply an effort to find common ground with these guys. I simply gave them the courtesy of making good on the damage before posting on Yelp. I told them on the phone that I was suspending judgment until I had a chance to gather all the evidence. When the manufacturer told me the cause of this type of damage, as they have seen it many times on improperly transported boards, it became obvious (see the detail of damage and compare to image of MPH courier with the undamaged board). This ultra-light carbon fiber board was placed on a sharp object where it bounced along on the roadway, you can even see where it was yanked out of the truck by the forward scratches. This type of damage would not happen leaning against a stationary wall like the one the courier propped it up against at the shipper's facility ( he placed it damaged side down by the way according to the shipper who called me immediately after he turned it over to pack it. ) I apologize for suggesting they did still charged me upon inspection of my corp AMEX account they did not. This is appreciated, however, this suggests they may be in agreement with me. Sadly, I now have to take legal action. I only want what is due to me, what is fare and we will have to let a judge decide now costing everyone more. I am confident I will prevail and will post the outcome here.

After some research, we talked to several international moving firms. When we connected to Betty at ILM, it was "love at first call", professionally speaking. At every step of the way, Betty was patient and responsive, explaining the complex process of an international move, and making sure all of our paperwork was in order. We asked for our stuff to be in storage for a bit because we didn't know how long it would take to find an apartment, and Betty helped us figure out the right schedule to reduce storage costs to a minimum. The actual move itself was the most professional and smooth we've ever experienced. The moving team showed up at our NYC apartment with five guys, and they packed everything perfectly. Everything arrived in Toronto without a scratch. The delivery team in Toronto was also top-notch. Highly recommend ILM for all your moves, especially cross-border ones. When I woke up this morning the apartment complex had no idea that a tow truck came in and was picking up cars. I called the Roselle police department to figure out where my car was. After locating my car I went to the location that was posted on Google and it a house that was not the right location. After finding the correct location again I showed up to the site where my car was. There was nobody there, no hours posted or nobody picking up my calls. I decided to go home and confront my complex again and they still had no idea about cars being towed. I finally was informed to text a number where It was arranged for me to pick my car up. As soon as I get there I'm trying to get questions answered as to who had my car towed and why considering there were other cars infront of me and behind me that were not towed. I'm a paying tenant in this complex and also have a parking sticker on my dashboard. The man there assisting couldn't tell me who called but said " 50 tenants called and complained about cars and also the police called and complained", which is completely incorrect. After asking the questions I asked the man how much it was going to be he quoted be $700 which by reading all your reviews he definitely was up charging me and also up charging me from the sign posted in my apartment complex. This was by far the worst experience with any towing company and not to mention the most unprofessional when the man started charging at me when I decided to call the police and get this sorted out. He was screaming it was his day off and that because I was calling the police I wouldn't be able to have my car today. Truly the worst and scariest experience. I hope this company fires that employee and fixes this issues because it could cause several more 1 star complaints.

He was dispatched through Agero by our insurance company. I specifically noted on the Agero tow request, that the car would require a flat bed that could handle a vehicle low to the ground. This type of car can not be towed just from the front. The owner arrived with a pickup truck that had only the front tow bar. I voiced my concerns and he was fully aware of the type of car. He told me it would be fine with rear dollies. As he pulled out of our driveway, I heard a crack and saw a large piece of the lower plastic underbody panel protection fall off. I drove straight to our mechanic behind him, who also saw him pull in and watched him unload. Due to the vehicle being too low, the tow driver had to use wood blocks to prop the front up and even rocks get it off the tow bar. Brian, our driver, who happens to also own Dargnt, told me to send an estimate and it would be taken care of. He seemed like a stand up and forthright person. Since the day I sent the estimate he has disappeared for months. His chosen method of securing the car broke not only the front underbody panel, but also the mid underbody panel, both mud flaps and the side protection panels. We are now filing a complaint against Dargnt with both our insurance and Agero, as well as sending all pictures taken by both my mechanic and myself while the car was hooked up to his truck. If you are using this tow company through a third party beware! We had planned to use Dargnt after our first interaction to transport our other seasonal cars. We will never use this company again.
