    Mushroom au jus
    Chandler G.

What an absolutely stunning restaurant! I absolutely adore the wooden interiors and the modern architecture. My husband and I are staying here for a night after flying in from Philly and was pleasantly surprised the restaurant was still open! I ordered the Mushroom Au Jus - basically a grilled cheese with mushrooms and a nice sauce which was delicious! I loved the crispiness of the bread and the side salad was generous. We ordered at the bar and the bartender was very knowledgeable of the food and very friendly. What a pleasant surprise after a very long day! My husband ordered the Caesar salad with chicken - croutons were amazing and I had a shrimp in his shrimp cocktail - so fresh! Very thankful this restaurant was still open and I'm thankful for this experience!

The Patchwork Restaurant is a lobby restaurant in the Hyatt Centric Hotel and was a fine restaurant for several dinners. The hotel restaurant often was not busy during the weeknights. When an event was occurring it seemed like people popped in for a drink before going out or grabbing a drink after returning. The Patchwork Restaurant is open and airy. It isn't a place for clandestine conversations but a good venue for gatherings among friends. The bar was nice and spacious. It was welcoming. The food was solid. The cacio e pepe was my favorite - it was simple, fresh, and tasty without being too heavy. The burger was good, and enjoyable. The roasted chicken was the most disappointing. It was dry and not particularly great. The staff were wonderful. They were engaging conversationalists. Every night at the bar I found good conversation and loved the helpful tips.

I am a Hyatt gal so I have been to Patchwork several times. It's a good spot for a drink to decompress after a meeting. The bartenders are always nice and helpful, outlining tourist attractions around town. The breakfast buffet is amazing. It's abundance of options over indulges me every time. They have tuna salad on their breakfast buffet which is surprising and odd but I'm into it. The chef of this spot shows growth which I love. Hospitality HQ owns this restaurant. Chef Akhtaraa Nawab, owner of both Alta Calidad in New York (Michelin) and Otra Vez in New Orleans and Co-CEO of Hospitality HQ (HHQ), shows off his 'less-is-more' cooking style at this spot too. He's been at NYC's Gramercy Tavern, Craftbar, Craft, and has been in the kitchen at Tom Colicchio's restaurants for over 10 years. The decor I would call mid century modern. I always try to get someone at the bar to climb the ladder but they never do. Something about consequences.

Located inside the Hyatt Centric, my friend and I came here for breakfast since we were staying at the hotel and she was leaving early in the morning to go home. Patchwork is located in the lobby of the hotel. It is located opposite to the check in desk and elevators so it doesn't quite feel like a hotel lobby. Food: We tried the following items: Breakfast Tacos - good, but I wish there was more hot sauce available Waffle - standard waffle, cannot go wrong Avocado Toast - I enjoyed this, but I think it could have had a little more seasoning. It was a good size though. For drinks, we also got a latte, mimosa & a Bloody Mary. Each drink was done as expected and would order again. Service: Service was pretty quick and friendly. The quick service was appreciated as I didn't want my friend to miss her bus home. TL;DR - not a bad hotel restaurant for breakfast.

Delicious food! I really didn't have high expectations for a hotel restaurant with a small-ish menu, but both meals I had here were great. I was in town for work and had very limited time to grab my meals, so the hotel bar it was. The gnocchi for dinner were so soft and flavorful, and both sauces really complimented the dish. It doesn't look like much, but it was filling! The local beer was recommended by the bartender and was fresh and crisp. I did not enjoy the Caesar salad--whole leaves of lettuce I had to cut, too much dressing, and sliced anchovies hidden in the tons of dressing. The next morning for breakfast, the pancakes were fluffy and deliciously paired with some lemon curd--the perfect not-too-sweet combo. They also have a breakfast buffet for those who want lots of variety.

Patchwork is fine for a breakfast. The decor was fresh and clean and pleasant. It was not a cheap breakfast so you certainly pay for the convenience if you are staying in the hotel. The food was fine and the service was relatively quick. I believe this is a good place if you want convenience without a long walk.

Happy Hour is from 4-6pm on select drinks + small plates. Server did not give us the HH Menu or advise us on HH) I saw it on web

Patchwork restaurant is located inside the Hotel's lobby. The hotel is OUTSTANDING. However, the restaurant server was not great by any means at all - he was slow in service, not welcoming, did not let us know their was a Happy Hour currently going on + did not even offer menus for drinks + dining. I would say it took me about 20 mins for to realize he was not going to offer us menus nor greet us. Server was at the bar + clearly saw us because I specifically made eye contact with him...We sat right across him; he was at the bar and we were facing the bar. Anyway, after not receiving menus or an acknowledgement I realized "I would have to call him over to place an order" He did not seem annoying when I spoke to him however he seem like he was in a rush even though during the time I ordered no one was there + he was extremely dismissive he was not patient in any way or willing to offer suggestions. Kindly keep in mind, at the moment when we arrived we were the only ones there ready to eat + dine. I would say about 30 mins after is finally when people started to trickle in. Food was super tasty + fresh ! Food + hotel made up for his (server at restaurant) lack of professionalism + service.

Our food has been delicious both days! My daughters asked to come back for breakfast. The waffles, pancakes, oatmeal and omelets were all a big hit. And the service was excellent! They even made a call to a local store they recommended to make sure they were open and had what we were looking for. Such a gem.

I ordered the Market Street Muse and I could barely taste the limoncello. The vodka and basil were the most prominent flavors. I was feeling good. I'm rating this establishment four stars because the drinks on The Philadelphia Cocktail Trail were essentially existing drinks they had on their current menu but with different names. Same ingredients. I was hoping to see something new or related to America's 250th. Overall, though, the space was very calm and clean and I enjoyed being there. All the menu items sounded great, too. I'll have to pop in here for a bite to eat next time.

5 stars for Bud and Marilyn's? I recently gave The Love 5 stars for its fried chicken!…read more The Marilyn's Fried Chicken I had this evening was every bit as good! I'm not sure why I waited so long to try the chicken at Bud and Marilyn's, but better late than never! They serve a LARGE 1/2 chicken. I started with the thigh. I was smitten by the first bite. I was told the chicken is soaked in a buttermilk brine for 24-48 hours - dipped in a buttermilk dredge - covered with their 'secret recipe' seasoned flour - and fried in a 'pressure fryer' that cooks the chicken in 12 minutes. It was perfectly fried - so crispy - the texture and seasoning of the exterior coating was incredible. The chicken was tender and juicy - the thigh was the juiciest - I didn't get to try the drumstick as I was too full! I had the thigh and 1/2 the breast. The breast is my favorite and I savored each large delicious piece I broke apart. It's important to pick up the chicken and eat it by hand - I did cut mine in half for a picture - but didn't use a fork to eat it - you lose the 'panache'of the meal. I didn't use the hot sauce served with the chicken - I brought my own bottle of honey and poured it over the chicken and biscuits. It was heavenly! Which brings me to the Biscuits! The dish comes with 2 large fluffy buttermilk biscuits - they were golden brown on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside! They had such a rich, buttery flavor. I took several pieces of chicken and layered them on pieces of biscuit, drizzled with honey! It was truly a 5 star fried chicken and biscuit dinner!

Everyone we interacted with was absolutely wonderful and pleasant, ranging from the team members to our fellow patrons. I had a gin and Sprite to drink and I ordered the burger for some grub. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I've had. We had a 7 PM reservation and arrived at 7:15 PM. I acknowledge that we were late and apologized to the host. However, we arrived within the stated grace period. When we checked in, the hostess explained that because we arrived later within the grace period, our 90-minute seating window would still end based on the original reservation time. We acknowledged that and had absolutely no issue with it. What made the experience uncomfortable was how aggressively we were reminded about the time throughout the entire meal. We were reminded at least 5-6 separate times how much time we had left. Comments like "just so you know you have 25 minutes left" and "our next party is coming in 5-10 minutes" made it feel like staff was actively trying to rush us out before our reservation time had even ended. Mind you, we already understood the policy. One reminder would have been enough. Instead, it completely changed the energy of the evening and made us feel unwelcome and pressured to leave. We had originally planned to stay through our reservation and then move to the bar for the live music afterward, but after being repeatedly rushed, we decided to leave entirely and spend the rest of the night elsewhere. The most disappointing part was the interaction with the manager, Eric. Rather than listening or showing any understanding, he immediately became defensive and aggressive. He repeatedly insisted we were "15-20 minutes late," which was simply not true -- we arrived during the stated grace period. The issue was never the policy itself. It was the way we were treated throughout the night. It's unfortunate because this has genuinely been one of my favorite spots in Philly, and I've recommended it to multiple people. But this experience left a really bad impression, especially when bringing guests from out of town.

There are many tables, making it good for groups, but the interior is pretty bare. The wall is adorned with whimsical fox and chicken imagery, referencing the Hatch and Coop name. As of 05/2025, they supposedly offer 10% off your order by showing your SEPTA card. But, I'd confirm this offer before ordering to ensure it's honored. When I was there in the early morning, the cook (who also takes orders) didn't recognize the deal and didn't know how to punch it in. So, it was a bit of a letdown we couldn't redeem the deal, but we still wanted to try the sandwiches after hearing great things about them. I ordered The Hatch and Coop Sandwich (egg, cheese, chicken) on a round roll at the kiosk. You can customize your bread, egg (fried or scrambled), and cheese (provolone, american, or cheddar). The sandwiches come without any sauce unless you order sauce (extra $$) on the side. I highly recommend the Hatch Sauce- a typical mayo sauce with a little spice. I found The Hatch and Coop Sandwich to be just pretty good but I wish it had more heft to it. The chicken was juicy and well cooked, but I wish there was more. The cheese did the cheesing and coated the chicken, but the sandwich had far too many onions for my liking. With the Hatch Sauce, I felt the sandwich was tied together but it was a little odd to me the sandwich doesn't have sauce on its own. I'm giving Hatch and Coop the benefit of the doubt since it was so early in the morning, but I found my sandwich to be just OK. However, I will be back to try the fried chicken sandwiches, which I've heard rave reviews for.
