Old school Greek diner with a simple menu. Bathrooms have no A/C. Prices are excellent. Portions are normal but food tends to be a bit bland. Great for groups and families on a budget. Plenty of free parking all around the building. Service is friendly and quick too.

Biscuit and sausage gravy, large portions.

Fresh homemade dishes, great friendly and fast service. Stepping into this place felt like I was back in my childhood going out to lunch with my grandparents.clean but dated.

This was like a smaller version of a typical NJ diner. There seemed to be regulars who were present. The one feature that stood out at was all of the clown memorabilia from figurines to pictures. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. I went with one of their daily breakfast specials that consisted of 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices, 2 sausage links or patties, with potatoes and toast ($6.25). I opted for poached eggs and sausage links. Everything was solid, no complaints. It was a good and hearty breakfast to start the day. Will I go back? Yes.

A clown sees life simply, without complications: George Bishop I stopped in for breakfast this rainy Tuesday morning, shortly after they opened. It was already somewhat busy but there was no wait. I received a particularly friendly greeting and as soon as I settled in had coffee. I thought very highly of the service, the staff seemed to enjoy working with each other and interacting with their customers. My coffee was topped off several times by anyone passing by with a pot. I ordered their Kielbasa Omelette, which came with a large pile of potatoes and toast. The omelette was fine, pieces of Kielbasa adding flavor, and it included cheese. There were more potatoes than I needed. Patches exemplifies the circus history of Venice by its name and clown décor. It is not overwhelming but provides a nice festive feel. For those of us who like clowns, and I hope there are many, it can brighten your day.

Honest, no BS place, good food at a good price. Got here at 715 AM, was surprised,to find a place open. It was crowded with only one waitress, a take no BS person, who was fast and efficient. I was served quickly, the food was good. Free flowing coffee refills without asking. Large portions. I like this place.

Family restaurant just before Venice bridge. Very casual and friendly A local favorite. The manager greeted me and knew I was new. I was there at 8 am on a Saturday and it was filling up fast. Everyone seemed to know each other. There was a lot o talk from table to table Lots of retired looking people Food was fresh and served fast. Fruit was freshly cut and ripe Corn beef was not my favorite. Canned ? Very attentive servers Very fair prices

The service was really slow and it took at least 30 minutes for a bowl of fruit for my 3 year old

The restaurant has that eclectic feel to it as does the staff (that is a positive). Waitresses were friendly. Menu looked good with breakfast and lunch being available. Note the times that the restaurant is open. Closed on Tuesday's Wednesday's and Thursday. Hours are from 8 am to 2 pm the other days. So don't make an unnecessary trip. Husband and wife who are the owners and also The lead cooks. Breakfast menu looked good, but wife and I decided to do lunch. I got the cod sandwich and she got the grilled cheese. Plates come with either slaw or pasta salad. Fries are extra and the chef does a little something different, he mixes regular French fries with sweet potato fries so you may get a few surprises if you are not used to that combination. Cod sandwich was not breaded which is a bit different for me. No tartar sauce with the sandwich but rather a remoulade sauce a bit more tart and tangy. Side was slaw which was tangy. Both the entrees were decent, but way more expensive for lunch than we would expect for a grilled cheese and a cod sandwich with a side of fries over $50.00. Worth a visit, but be aware you are going to pay for it.

My husband and I both ordered the corned beef hash. I ordered a waffle, and he had pancakes, along with coffee. To start, the coffee was okay, just a little watered down, but acceptable. We then had to wait a good 30 minutes for our food, and once it arrived, we were completely disappointed. The corned beef hash was pretty much inedible. The taste was seriously off, it tasted like old onions, and aside from a crust on top, it was complete mush. We are both corned beef hash fans and have had many plates of it, and this was not how corned beef should be served. Both of our eggs and bread options were fine. My husband's pancakes were undercooked, with what he kept calling "crunchy things" inside them. My waffle was on the same level as one you'd get at a hotel using a waffle maker at a free breakfast buffet. By the end of the meal, my coffee looked so watered down that we were calling it lake water. Now to the restaurant and servers: the restaurant was very hot, so much so that the door was propped open. The server said the AC had just gone out, however, based on how the servers were dressed (shorts and sleeveless tops), it seemed like this was the normal atmosphere for them. While all of the servers were nice to us, one of them was abrasive and somewhat rude to other customers. When someone waiting for a table asked if he could order drinks, she said, "No. If I let you order drinks, I'll have a coffee shop outside." Needless to say, they got in their car and left. Lastly, we didn't complain about anything, paid our $50.00 bill, and left a $10.00 tip, so $60.00 total for a breakfast that probably should have cost about $30.00, which was crazy. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone and would caution people to go elsewhere if asked.
