Had a late-night craving for shawarma and found Patar Shawarma on Yelp, so we decided to give it a try. Really glad we did! It's in a shopping center with lots of parking, even late at night. The place was clean and had plenty of spots to sit. One lady was working who was super nice and helpful. We got two pork shawarma wraps. They made them fast, and you could watch them make it on the screen, which was kinda fun. The wraps were delicious, juicy, flavorful. Recommend to give it a try.

When in Rome... Glendale has no shortage of Middle Eastern food. Kabobs, kebabs, shawarma, etc., etc. Service was efficient, the restaurant was clean, and the food was fresh and delish! I opted for chicken shawarma over salad but diners can choose the same option in a pita wrap. Other meat options such as pork or beef available. Located in a strip mall along Colorado Blvd, this was an easy choice for lunch.

After a night of bowling, in Glendale, this is my co-workers go-to spot. I went with a pork shawarma lavash wrap with all the fixings and fries. House and garlic sauce sold separately. First timers trying shawarma in our group thought it was amazing! If you've had shawarma before, you know this could be better. The wrap was good, but I wanted MORE! It could've been hotter, could've had more "umpfff." I don't know how to describe it. Fries were hot and well seasoned. We went late so parking was good. The establishment was very clean. Maybe another night of bowling will change my mind. The beef shawarma over fries looked bomb so I'll be trying that next.

Excellent shawarmas! Nice and juicy and well toasted! The service is wonderful and I love the ambience! I probably should've took a photo first, but I took quite a big bite.

Great food - We got the chicken wrap, beef wrap, fries and had a variety of sauces. My favorite was the garlic sauce. 5/5 Service was great and foot came out quickly (within 10 minutes). 5/5 The environment was clean and the music wasnt too loud. I liked how modern everything was too! 5/5 TLDR: I will come back and recommend it to friends that want a quick, quality lunch experience.

We got the chicken shawarma, with everything except onions and pepper. I give it a solid 8.5 out of 10. Very tasty

However, since we came at night time where most of them were closed, we got parking right in front. This spot is more of a take-away place, with 6 counter seatings indoors, and maybe 3 chairs right out front. This tiny burger spot seems to be run by just one person, so it helps that you can self-order at their kiosk. He was very attentive juggling between cooking the made-to order items, and check in on the costumers in case they had questions. After placing my order at their one device, it was roughly a 15 minutes wait. Here's what we ordered: CHEESEBURGER - $9.90 High-quality beef patty smashed with grilled onions, serviced on a toasted Martin's potato bun and topped with pickles and their fry sauce. I really enjoyed this rich tasting burger. I think that fry sauce was a huge factor...but also that soft bun...and that flavorful beef patty. I really enjoyed this. FRIES - $5.25 Golden Thing-Cut Fries. Perfect. I mean this was made to order so they were warm, crispy and so dang good! It's how fries everywhere should be! I was hoping to come back during my trip in LA, but it's okay, it won't be the last time I visit.

The crispy lace edges, the juicy center, the grilled onion, the slightly spicy sauce, the slightly sweet bun...all dreamworthy! Their sweet potato fries aren't all that great to look at, but omg, always perfectly cooked and salted! Perfectly complimented with the fry sauce. All that said, we were disappointed when we received our last order: 1. Packaging change (paper wrapped instead of cardboard box for the burgers) robbed the craveable edges of their crispness. Plus there was so much grease on the paper wraps it actually made it messier to eat than before. 2. The sauce has changed. The spice level increased (still not too spicy), but a side of sauce (which you pay more than a $1 for) is now sent in a premade branded packet. I have zero issues paying extra for a good sauce made fresh in-house, but instead of tasting like a fresh sauce made with mayo and spices, it now tastes of oil and spices and is not nearly as tasty. We noticed the difference on the burgers as well, so it seems like their sauce is all premade now and not nearly as good.

Having never been to a Fosters location, my daughters and I were looking for a little treat at the end of the day and we thought we'd check it out to see how the venerable brand compared to the Wanderlust, Jenni's, Salt & Straw locations we are accustomed to. The location is simple, old fashioned (see photos), and run-down. We got a sprinkle and strawberry sundaes ($4.79 each). The ice cream (or ice milk) is more solid than soft serve, and has a slightly different flavor. Personally, I was not a fan, and I consider this a step below McDonald's, which has a stronger vanilla flavor and creamier texture. The toppings and whipped cream were similarly generic and unremarkable. Overall, I was not impressed by Fosters. Perhaps I lack the nostalgia it holds in the hearts of others, but the product simply isn't as good as you can find elsewhere. Food: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value: 4/5

I had a double cheeseburger that was pretty good. The meat was lacking a tad in flavor or seasoning but the veggies seemed fresh enough. The whole thing lacked some careful preparation and looked like someone in the place punched down on it. Oh well. Tasted like a BK Whopper. The vanilla soft serve ice cream cone dipped in their patented chocolate sauce that hardens into a shell about the ice cream? Heaven sent. Perhaps the best I've ever had. The ice cream was simple and cold and smooth on the tongue, somehow rich and subtle in flavor simultaneously. Hey, it was just vanilla after all. The chocolate shell you crunch through with each bite was fun, tasty, and made the ice cream even better. The whole cone as handed to me just looked perfect too. Funny that they present dessert cones with such care as to look like art but can't wrap up a burger to save their lives... Fun Place

The Bucket was one of my favorite places to get a filthy burger, and in Eagle Rock, several of my favorites could be found, such as Original Tommy's Hamburger, The Oinkster, and Pete's Blue Chip. A very good friend of mine recently mentioned that this place had reopened and enjoyed a burger without inviting me! So, I had to see and taste for myself. If I remembered correctly, they had been closed for a while, and then I guess got resurrected. Apparently, they had been around since 1935, and when I started eating here, they had hilarious burger names, such as Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack... you got the idea. Would this bucket contain all of the fond memories of years past!? PURCHASE(S) Firestone Walker Brewing Co. Trumer Pils German Pilsner Beer 4.9% ABV 16floz Draft ($7.00): Clear amber color, cider hoppy aroma, low body, crisp light hoppy flavor, smooth finish, and dry light hoppy aftertaste - a very easy brew. Double Western Burger ($10.35): A simple burger made with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion rings, and BBQ sauce all between a fluffy bun, this messy two-hander was strong with its thick patties and stuff squeezing out all over the place. This was a finger-licking good burger at a really nice price! [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings w/Aiolo Dipping Sauce 7pc ($5.65): A small portion with rings of large sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) pulled out at times. They were lightly oily while the aioli helped to give them more flavor. Mango Habanero Hot Wings & Veggie Sticks w/Bleu Cheese Dipping Sauce 6pc ($8.25): Somewhat small drummetes and wingettes, there was just enough tender meat on the bones while the mango habanero sauce was surprisingly hot and sweet, I also used the very tame bleu cheese sauce although it wasn't needed. The veggie stickers were small, fresh, and helped to cleanse the palate. At about $1.38/piece, it was a relatively good deal and tasty for what you got. SERVICE You had the option to order at a kiosk or with a friendly young man at the order window (I chose the latter). He easily and quickly took my order, gave me my beer while I waited, and less than ten minutes later, everything was packed up and ready to go - easy-peasy! PARKING (Varied: FREE this instance): I found a spot in their tiny lot (less than five spots). Otherwise, there seemed to be plenty of spots along the main drag of Eagle Rock Blvd. (be sure to read all posted signs) - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Basically a takeout business with a handful of communal metal tables, chairs, and some barstools in an outdoor covered patio with a lone order window. This was very barebones, rustic, and practical. There was plenty of natural lighting while some electric lights filled in the rest with some possible help from the nearby street lights. There was one TV but no background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was very glad to see that The Bucket had returned (when, I had no idea), and I planned to reacquaint myself with their entire menu. Speaking of the menu, it now had a Mexican portion (burritos, tacos, tortas) that I didn't recall from previous times; furthermore, their burger selection has been scaled back with none of the earlier-mentioned burgers that led you closer to a hospital visit. Regardless, the food was very good, affordable, no frills, and the service was straightforward. Plus, I always preferred to give my business to local small mom & pop businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $34.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

However, the seasoning was just too much. He got the ch sicken in medium. He said that the seasoning felt like biting into sand. There was just too much. He ate our sons regularly chicken and said this was the best. So I recommend getting the mild and adding hot sauce on the side. There fries were fine nothing wrong but nothing to rave about either. I finally got to visit this place after dropping friends off in Union Station. My original idea was…read moreto go to Amboy, but unfortunately for them they didn't open up in time. I decided Howlin Rays deserved my attention. There was already a line in place and they were playing some good music from the restaurant. When it came time for me to order, Ryan at the counter was very friendly to me. Everyone in the restaurant was. I really enjoyed that. I stuck with getting the mild sando, and didn't expect the chicken breast so gigantic! It was a delicious sandwich and the spice was pretty good. I'm glad I didn't go any spicier than that. I ordered the fries which were actually pretty good. They were definitely seasoned, but they weren't heavily in taste sense. They had something for me to drink and it went really well with a meal actually. I'm glad that I could say that I enjoyed this place from beginning to end. It is a little hidden, but luckily for me I found it. Definitely will come back to have my wife try it one day.

Imagine my surprise when I stepped inside to find an extremely pared down version of what used to be there. As I am finding with many fast food places, you have to order from a kiosk. Since I was only need a little something to eat, I ordered a McDouble. Upon checkout, it asked me to grab a table number and enter it. There were no table numbers to grab. Strike one! Then I went to grab the receipt and it was out of paper. Strike two!! I took a seat and waited, anxiously keeping an eye out for my order since I had no table number. After a few minutes, I head someone shout out "McDouble" so I headed to the counter and retrieved my order. So much for bringing it to my table. Strike three!!! I opened my sandwich and found the thinnest, smushed McDouble I have ever eaten. the patties themselves were so thin, my thumbnail was wider than the two patties. And the top of the bun seemed like it had been pressed down so much it was barely thicker than the two patties. The burger itself was lukewarm and barely edible. Before you jump up and say "It's McDonalds. What did you expect"?, please know that I have eaten McDoubles plenty of times in the past. Not only was this was a poorly executed example, it is obvious that McDonalds is shrinking its patties and raising its prices. Same thing happened to their Fish Sandwich. First they started giving you a half slice of cheese and then they switch to a smaller rectangle of fish rather than the square one you used to get. Sadly, this will probably be my last McDonalds meal. I can get much better food for the same price at other local places.

I came here for the first time in decades!!!! I love how clean and spacious it was. I was able to order from the kiosk and they charge you .10 cent for a small paper bag!!! I got a bunch of their different breakfast biscuits and hashbrown. It was good and I did not have a bad experience here.
