However, there is sometimes a place for "experts", people who do a thing, who have trained, and prepared, and have the tools to achieve a correct outcome. There is nothing wrong with getting some tips for a minor problem, and (if you are a bit handy) taking the DIY route on something. However there are some things that we should leave to those who have trained, worked hard to acheive the skills to do a thing; governance, surgery, complex plumbing, electric, tree felling, bicycle derailleurs! I have the luxury of being able to leave work in the middle of a day on Friday. I called, they were available, we drove over, they took the bike right in. Had some pleasant conversation, they fixed it in 15 minutes ($20), and educated us [they always do]. We have been here 3 times now, and 3 times an absolutely 100% positive experience. This is a quality business, with capable caring folks. Good products/service/expertise isn't "cheap" it shouldn't be. This place cares about the work they do, they care about cyclists and they are an excellent resource. This is our new "go to".

So I cannot review the quality of their services but can say the representative was honest about their backlog & he recommended another shop that was not especially convenient to Vienna. Instead I went to the Trek bike shop (formerly Spokes) on Maple Avenue & they were Awesome! It took them a week to provide me a major service with new cables, inner tubes, chain & handlebar wrap for $388. My Trek Madone is riding like new! I give the Trek Bike Shop 5 Stars!

Although I dropped in without an appointment, they began work on my bike right away. They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with their time. In addition to repairing the derailleur, they spent considerable time talking with me to explain the nature of the work that was needed as well as providing recommendations for other repairs to make the bike safe. Over the years we have been very satisfied with College Park Bicycles for our bicycle needs, including purchasing another bicycle and various accessories, as well as for maintenance service.
