We checked out the new @patagonia_coffeehouse in #HackettstownNJ this morning. It did not disappoint. Our latteswere delicious and the pastries were just as good and very fancy. We noticed a lot of heartier lunches going passed us looked amazing. Presentation is really important here. Patagonia is a cozy spot with a lot of comfy living type areas. Everyone is really on the ball, very courteous and helpful. It is obviously a family owned business and definitely worth a try if you are in Hackettstown. #PatagoniaCoffeeHouse @jackie_and_steve1986

Latte, blueberry scone and other cheese bread type pastry.

Finally got around to trying Patagonia Coffee House and it did not disappoint! Latte was delicious as was the blueberry scone and what would describe kind of a pandebono type roll. Hard a hard time deciding as everything looked delicious. Will definitely be back.

Their barn itself is also super cute, just going up for the cake tasting session was magical in itself. Picking just 3 flavors to sample from their list of cake combinations was so hard, which was a good thing! You are allowed to have a different flavor for each layer of cake at no additional cost, so we had fun with those. We picked the olive oil cake with passion fruit cream, the walnut almond pound cake with raspberry mousse, and the lemon cake with orange flower blossom cream. Well, my husband talks about that passion fruit cream more than any other part of our wedding (I try not to be too upset about that), it was that amazing! My favorite flavor was the raspberry mousse, and I keep hearing a ton of compliments on that flavor in particular from our guests. The only critique I would give to Cake Fiction is that they didn't give the venue a list of the flavors so nobody knew what each layer was and my husband and I had picked the flavors months before and couldn't remember either. I also appreciate how up-front Cake Fiction was with their pricing, which is listed online on their website to give you an idea of an estimate for your cake. We ended up going with a naked cake with just buttercream frosting on the outside which saved us a bit of money, and it looked so beautiful after our florist put a couple of flowers on it for us and it really fit in well with the theme of our barn venue. I made my own cake toppers out of clay and they were a little heavy so I was worried about them on top possibly sinking into the cake, but the cake was sturdy and the topper sat up there proudly! And finally, Paula is also the sweetest lady ever and you can tell she really has a passion for her work. It's lovely that we have such a great wedding cake baker in New Jersey. Now if only they would open a tiny bakery so that we can get two cupcakes with our flavors next year for our anniversary. :)

The cake was in the shape of a phantom f4 jet and it was absolutely perfect. The attention to detail was impeccable!! My father in law thought it was a plastic model because it was made so well!! The staff at the restaurant kept coming in just to take pictures. The best part ~ it was absolutely delicious, too!!! I can't say enough good things about cake fiction... I can't wait to have them make another cake for us!!!

Their prices are reasonably competitive, and the shelves are consistently well stocked, which makes planning and shopping much easier. Is the layout counterintuitive? Absolutely. Is it annoying to have to use a quarter to get a cart? Definitely. But the staff more than make up for these quirks. The team is friendly and genuinely helpful across the board--the produce section, deli counter, fresh fish area, the kind cashiers, and especially the amazing butcher team. They seem happy to be here and happy to help, and that energy really comes through. The icing on the cake is the other shoppers. People are respectful with their carts, offer a smile as they pass, and do small, gracious things--like letting someone with two items go ahead of their overflowing cart. It all adds up to a place that simply feels good to shop in. As Maya Angelou said, "People will never forget how you made them feel," and that's exactly why I keep coming back to this store.

You ask a question and they don't even look up to acknowledge you. The deli is the worse with half hour waits because workers are elderly and extremely slow. Employees watching self-checkout are rude and obnoxious with not a clue how to do a rain check. Mgmt doesn't seem to care about any of this. I could go on forever about how customer service is nonexistent here. The one star is for evening employees who are very helpful and don't have an attitude problem.
