So disappointed in this place. I waited over 30 min for my order and I had to tell the workers 2 times what it was. On top of that, I asked for no honey (add PB) because I'm allergic, and instead of remaking the bowl she just adds the PB on top. It's so thick that all the fruits stuck to the top. I also ordered a smoothie and when it was being made, the young lady proceeded to wipe the wet spatula on her pants and then sticks it in the smoothie. Another person came in after me and received his smoothie before I got my bowl. Saying that there were 5 orders us not truthful, and I highly doubt they can complete an order in that amount of time. Came out to Acai express with my friend for a quick night snack post our gym workout. I'll be honest, I was not impressed with the quality of the Acai bowl, however, my expectations were already not high since I frequent playa bowls often. I ordered the Valentine Bowl, which was simply Acai, coconut, Nutella, bananas and strawberries, and a lot a lot a lot of granola. Geez, am I paying for the granola or what? I wish it had more Acai like how other Acai bowl places do it. Additionally, the Acai was literally frozen. It was like eating shaved ice. Did not like the consistency, nor the base of the bowl. There was granola at the bottom, then in the middle and then on top again. The toppings however, were fresh and good. But, I will not be returning. I rather drive 15 mins out to Denville for a better, higher quality and more satisfying Acai bowl that's worth the buck. read more

They have not free granola which is nice cuz I'm allergic but you do pay more for that. The real upsetter was that there was very little acai. The bowls are pretty darn good! Definitely a better value than Playa or Frutta Bowls. They do play some terrible music though I must say. I love Acai Express in Rockaway. The fruit toppings are always fresh, ripe and delicious. Their organic and Grade A açaí comes both sweetened and unsweetened. Every bowl can be customized. In this bowl, I used unsweetened açaí. Also, I like how vegan, plant based protein is an option since certain protein isolates don't agree with me. Very filling and a great jump start to the day! I can't leave this review without mentioning how great the staff and location is. Staff is always courteous and helpful. I work in the restaurant industry so eating a meal on the fly, standing up is just the norm for me. The environment at this Rockaway location is so welcoming and laid back, I look forward to my acai bowl days when I sit down, relax and enjoy every moment of this delicious treat. Truly love their acai bowls, however this place is poorly managed. They close at "8pm" but I've gotten there at 7:10pm and they were closed, lights off, doors locked. The bowls never disappoint. Always packed with fruit and Acai. However, I went in with my family and the music that was BLASTING was very inappropriate. My seven year old niece even pointed out how "bad" it was. Every time I go in, I always see families and young children. These açaí bowls are definitely super delicious and can be addicting however there are a few issues I have noticed. Do not order a "large" as it is a rip off . The large is the exact same size as a regular bowl. My husband and I tested this just because we were curious . We filled the regular bowl with water and dumped it into the large which amounted to be the same size. The bowls can sometimes be inconsistent. They tend to give you a bowl of granola and very little açaí on multiple occasions . With that being said, the quality of açaí is great and super tasty but have to give them a lower rating due to the above . If those things were fixed, rating would be 5+ read more
