This location was a little crazy when I stopped in around 3pm on a weekday. There were definitely some kids from the local school hanging out singing loudly along with the music. It was a bit obnoxious but they were just having fun and most likely waiting to get picked up. I ordered just a dolce smoothie as I was hungry but needed something before going home for dinner. The dolce smoothie there I had always been my go to. This one I felt like the only peanut butter was used to decorate the inside of the cup and way too banana flavored. Still good but their prices definitely have gone up for smoothies. Biggest issue is always finding parking in Morristown. Street parking is near impossible to find and the closest parking garage is a bit of a walk over. read more

i love a playabowl moment, so i take advantage whenever im in the mood! i love how different yet similar each location is and i thought the interior design here is so cute. they still have affordable pricing for the stupid cupid bowl which i must say IS an honorable mention bc many other locations are now charging a minimum of $14-16 for it. i ended up committing to a nutaya half green base bowl with added mangos, hemp seeds, and almond butter. i did notice the base was a bit more runny than usual, but the extra granola i asked for helped soak it up. morristown isn't too local to me, but id stop by if im around. i came 30 mins before their closing time so there wasn't much staff or a wait time, but she was kind and prepared my order quickly. read more

Fresh and delicious! Playa bowls is perfect for a refreshing lunch, especially on a super hot day. They have so many locations around NJ, but somehow I haven't had a playa bowl until now. The menu is way larger than I expected, and in addition to acai / pitaya bowls you can also find lots of smoothies, oatmeals, banana bowls, juices and more. Everything sounded so good that it was honestly hard to choose. I tried a pura vida bowl which came topped with sooo many fresh blueberries and strawberries. I need to know where they get their strawberries because I haven't been able to find berries this ripe anywhere! The bowl also has granola and honey, and I added peanut butter for some extra flavor which was a very good call. The acai is cold and smooth and the crunchy granola and berries are the perfect compliment. Sweeten everything up with honey and pb and this really is pure perfection. An acai bowl place I tend to end up at because it's close, convenient, and I know what to expect since it is a chain. Is it the best? Not quite. They have colorful, sweet, trendy food. There are always a bunch of teenagers in here and the music is always blasting. Sometimes the bowls are borderline too sweet. I always get the pura vida which is good. Granola is nice and crunchy. Today I tried the nitro cold brew which tasted like a dessert coffee. Once again- pretty sweet. Reminded me of a Friendly's coffee fribble. Don't think I would get it again though. I love Playa Bowl. But the owners need to instruct their staff to not mop the floors until the shop closes. We arrived 22 minutes before closing on a Saturday night. A female worker was mopping the floor with a smelly cleaner. Made me want to vomit. Well maybe not vomit but it wasn't a pleasant experience. The mopper while talking on the phone with one hand and mopping with the other, asked me to pick a spot and stay there because she was mopping. I was insulted but kept quiet. Then my partner receives her bowl and it was melted and over flowing. See photo When my partner said she didn't want it, a very stressful moment happened. The mopper said she wasn't paid enough to care. I told her she was very disrespectful and to have her father call me so I could tell him that his daughter was acting out. She ignored me. The whole event escalated to the point where my partner asked for the name of the counter worker but the worker refused. So I took my camera out and as I did, she turned around with her back to camera. The male cashier worker told us it was 9pm and we had to get out. I video taped it. I ordered a smoothie in store paid in store and left a good tip. I left the store with my two-year-old daughter came back an hour later because the smoothie was off. In taste. I asked one of the girls to remake the smoothie. I waited 25 minutes then when I asked where the smoothie was, she stated she could not provide me a refund or remake the smoothie and told me to go online. They were really rude and really mean to me, it was like it was high school girls that were very immature. I have gone to the morristown playa location 3 times this week and each time when entering their store, the employees were lounging around on the counter and not wearing their masks until they saw me enter the building. It is mandatory to wear a mask during these times, but it's especially not sanitary to sit on the counters where customers pick up their bowls and orders. It makes me question how clean and serious this facility is taking the new sanitation measures. I work in food service as well and wear a mask 8 hours or more a day for the safety of my staff and our customers. I wish I could have Playa bowls on a daily basis. The ingredients are so fresh, and there's a great variety to choose from. This location always seems to have a really cool playlist on, which means I tend to spend at least half an hour whenever I visit. More importantly, the place is dog friendly! There is a nice bench as well as a water bowl for dogs outside, and the staff has provided me with complementary spoonfuls of peanut butter more than once. Finally checked this place out and loved it. I love how they remodeled the space and made it their own and I love the business concept. I got the green bowl and my boyfriend got a banana bowl. Sooo delicious and they use only GF granola and also have soy free vegan protein option- LOVE! The bowl was filling and gave me a nice boost of energy and was so nourishing! The menu has a huge variety and I can't wait to try more! Also am pumped to try the kombucha on tap mmm. And, while they are all ridiculously overpriced, you can deal with it because it's made fresh and so that makes it a little more bearable to pay $15 for some fruit and granola on a base of açaí. Morristown, does not do that, they make the base part ahead of time. So what you got is a crystallized over frozen base. STOP cutting corners Morristown. If you like cold "soup" this is the place for you! I go to this location because it's close to home. Usually it is more watery than the other location but it's edible. Today was the final straw for me. Both our bowls were so watery they ended up in the garbage!! I must say, I'm a fan of the Playa Bowl locations, but this is my first and last time at the Morristown one. It wasn't until the end of enjoying my smoothie that I ended up almost swallowing a piece of black plastic that was at the bottom of my Green smoothie. The staff NEEDS to be more cautious when making these smoothies since these types of plastics are considered poisonous when ingested.
