I admit, I had never been a patron of Patagonia. I hardly even knew it existed. But I was headed down Newbury on my way to pick up a "B Strong" cap at 47, and I spotted the blackboard sign out front advertising that Patagonia was giving away a free Capilene "Run On Boston" (or "Boston Run On" depending on how you read it) t-shirt with each donation to the One Fund (minimum donation of $15). It has been wonderful seeing how businesses have been showing their heart and solidarity with what our city has been going through. And I loved the shirt! So I emailed them my donation receipt and stopped by one day to pick up my tee. Service was friendly. The Capilene tees run small as they are rather fitted, so I'm glad I decided to try them on - the one I took home was a size up from what I had initially asked for. I also took home the blue t-shirt, which was less see through than the yellow and white options that were dressing up the dummies in the store window. They seem to be a rather green company - a new bag would be available for 20 cents, or they could take a look to see what second hand bags they had in the cupboard. SoI ended up going home with a really nice Lululemon bag that a customer had left behind while making a return. Nice!

Lovely location at the end of the strip. Quick service and stickers conveniently located on the counter so you don't even have to ask.

Love the store. Love this particular jacket I've been buying for over 10 years now. Wouldn't buy anything else.

SEAC: We won't get that shoe for months. *end of conversation* (this would have been a great time to talk with me about what I like in a running shoe and help me understand that one of your models would be a great change!) Neill: Hi, what do you guys have for running hats/sweatbands? SEAC: We don't carry any. Neill: Nothing? SEAC: What do you need one for...? Neill: To keep the sweat from running down my forehead and burning my eyesight out that would send me running into traffic. SEAC: Yea, we don't carry anything. (Really...maybe I could wrap one of your numerous 'SEAC' T-shirts around my head, there were plenty of them) This would have been a great time to explore options such as; taking down my email and putting me on an update list when new products arrive or even going so far as to order a couple items in for me? I'm not sure what your business model is...but without more focus on service you are not going to win my loyalty. You can have pretty windows and a nice logo, but I can't imagine that pushing me over to city sports can be very good for your bottom line. I like to run and I like to do business in my neighborhood. Even though I love the idea of this business I can not give over two stars until they mature a little in their 'retail senses'.

I love getting to explore the store and always find something new. Although it's on the smaller side for an REI, it is bigger than it seems. They have decent selection of gear and brands - definitely all the essentials. You can order online as well to pick up at or ship to the store if a specific item is not available. I tend to utilize this if there is something specific (brand/color, etc) that I know I want and then it's super efficient to pick up. The staff is super nice and always happy to guide to the section you are looking for. They are also helpful if you are returning an item or exchanging and I love their commitment to sustainability in the community as well. I always see people down in the bike/repair area so that seems to be a super convenient option to have for a the cyclists in Boston. If you have an active lifestyle, this is the place for you to come on this side of the Charles River.

They told me at checkout that I would save money on my current purchase if I signed up (I asked them to confirm this so it was crystal clear), so I signed up. They then tell me AFTER I've made an account that my discount will be applied to my NEXT purchase. It felt like they wouldn't let me buy anything. They also said my friend was "bumming off of his girlfriend" for checking if she had an account to try to get him to sign up. The products were good and the store was well equipped, but someone at REI corporate needs to change how their employees are trained. Being pushy is not a good look, and quite frankly left such a bad taste in my mouth. Would never go here again.

I swear, every store in Boston feels like the staff are doing you a favor, and walk around like lethargic former crack addicts on the last leg of withdrawal. You do get the occasional happy girl behind the counter at Nike on Newbury, but everyone else is pure molasses. Then I walked into Under Armour at the Pru, and everything changed. First, that ginormous torso with the Patriots t-shirt is just plain cool, but it gets better. I honestly felt like I was in Lululemon or Kit & Ace, where staff really engage you. I walked in there originally looking for sweatpants, but staff were so engaging that I walked out with 4 different types, and to this day, love every one of them. I'm hoping this isn't just new store enthusiasm, and really want to enjoy coming back in the future. For now though, this is the only sports retail store I look forward to on future shopping trips, and as always, their products are top notch. Keep it up!

There is nothing I hate worse than sneaker resellers! These bot-using parasites infect sneaker drops and leave shoe-loving sneakerheads frustrated and stinging with losses on release day. This is listed as a consignment shop ... but everything is brand new. The Yeezys in the window, the Jordan I in the display cases and the clothing scattered throughout. All new, all allocated and hard to find ... all about 400% above retail prices. My question is ... why would I shop here if I could find the same (or lower) price at StockX ... at least be guaranteed that the shoes I buy on GOAT are genuine (fakes are getting much harder to detect) ... and this place, like websites, does not allow you to try on the shoes before you buy them? Overall, this store just doesn't make sense to me. Especially in Burlington Mall. I hate the concept of glorifying resellers ... and in LA, the high end sneaker shops at least wrap their shoes in shrink wrap to protect them. Here, they're out exposed to dust, bottoms touching shelves, etc.
