Mango Sticky Rice dessert
kristin c.

A small and casual place. I liked the ambiance esp in the enclosed outdoor area, which is heated. Even the restroom is interesting. Very nice staff. Tried the Nam Tok soup. Had similar at another restaurant. Pork liver was sliced thin and was tender, not strong flavor. Could use more pork rinds :) Rice noodle was recommended but I liked with egg noodles better. The $6 bowl is a really mini portion of it with noodles and few pieces of each of the meats. Will not be enough as a meal though. Also, wished I remembered for less spiciness so I can enjoy the broth more, was a bit spicy for me. Other soups to try for next time. I did like the mango sticky rice- with mango sorbet, whipped cream and almonds.

This is a tiny shop located in the heart of little Thailand this shop specializes in noodle soups and only has a few variations of all the different dishes. There are maybe at most 15 seats in the shop so if you eat here don't expect to linger I've decided to get the talk which is the pork soup and it was quite flavorful and definitely packed a spicy punch. However, I think for the price they could have given a bigger portion. The most expensive part of this meal is the broth because of the time it takes, but all I'm asking is for maybe a little bit more noodles maybe more than just one sprig of vegetable that they cut in multiple pieces. If they increase the amount of ingredients that are fairly cheap in the bowl, then would be more satisfying m. It's not a bowl of noodles that you will get full on. However, the flavor profile was so rich and great that I had to give this place at least four stars.

Ate so many variations of noodles at Pata Paplean for their boat noodle and tom yum noodle dishes. The boat noodle soup version is still my favorite, which is made of blood and mixed with salt and spices. Toppings include pork, liver, and meatballs. We were a large group, and the waitress was very accommodating to rearrange tables and chairs for us. It's cash only, but you can Venmo the store!

What a rip off- only comes With 2 fish balls (split in 2) and ground pork $18

For $18 to go noodles, they literally robbed us blind. Tiny noodles, half a container of soup with fish balls and ground pork. Just unacceptable.

If you're craving authentic Thai noodle soups, this is it! Both my husband and I got the nam tok noodle soup with rice noodle, it came with a generous portion of pork liver, pork meat and pork ball. The soup was delicious with great depth and the taste of pork blood wasn't too strong. We only wished we had a bit more noodles! We also got the hat yai chicken which was ok for us. Cash only btw!

The tom yum dry noodle is pretty good, a little spicy. The chicken with sticky rice is a little dry, but they have a pretty good spicy sauce, but the raw salad under the chicken is a little bitter, would be nice to mix it with some sauce, make it a slaw maybe.

Food were delicious but portion is toooo small even for small eater like me. I would give 4 stars if they put more noodle in our bowls. The place was empty when we went there and I wanted outside seating but they force us to sit in small two seaters table but we changed anyway Also their food sicken my tummy even though taste is fine !

I visited my parents after work one rainy evening and my dad was raving about the Nam Tok dish from the place. When we walked in I had flashbacks because the first time I came was on a date when this restaurant first opened about 6-7 years ago. This place is cash only and known for their cocktails and dinner foods. Fast forward to 2021, place was renovated to accommodate outdoor dining. Place was dead except the one regular who just hangs out there to get drunk every night (that's the story I was told). Place is still cash only. When we sat down there was lots of napkins and hand sanitizer on eat table. Staff were masks and gloves. My dad ordered the Tom yum dry noodles and I ordered the Nam Tok noodle soup. Both dishes were prepared as if you are out in the night markets watching the cook prep, cook and put the dish together. When I ate both dishes, they were made authentically spicy. The nam tok soup was more authentic than Dek Sen. Ironically I had this dish before at the Thai New Year festival in 2018 when they made were preparing it outside. The dish then hit the spot. FYI, this restuarant also offers the same soup for lunch for only $5 and change Monday thru Friday. Can't wait to come back to the neighborhood for lunch.

Pata Paean is well known for having the most delicious boat noodle in NYC!!! Let's me tell you all, it is deserved its reputation. The tastes is very original, The moment that I sipped the broth from Numtok noodles (boat noodles), I felt like it already took me to Thailand. Not only that Tomyum noodle soup also other favorite one. I can't have enough those noodles. Also the service is in timely manner. All worker there are very friendly and attentive. I always love the music that they played as a background. Also the decoration represent the noodle shop in Thailand.10 out 10!!!!Recommend to all who love Thai's food and noodle. Also I recommend order the small bowl of boat noodles to experience more authentic version of boat noodles because in Thailand bowl noodles usually served in small bowl. Don't worry you can order more and more of course. I always order like 3 bowl. Very delicious, and wonderful dining experience.

Yummy Pork Broth that comes on the side with the dry noodles.

Amazing Thai restaurant that serves delicious noodle dishes with broth or dry. The ambiance and service is great! My wife and I shared Roasted Pork ( Dry) Noodles and the crispy Hat Yair Chicken. Both dishes very great! Be aware this place is cash only! Go check it out and enjoy!

Yum Raw Shrimp Salad

I dream. I crave. I salivate just thinking about the yum raw shrimp salad. They knock it out of the park every single time! The first time we ordered it, we got regular spicy and omgggg it was mouth burning lol. Tingles for HOURS. No need for lip injections, this spice will plump your LIPS. The crisp, raw, sweet shrimp just compliments the lemongrass, fermented fish sauce, mint, celery leaves and onions so WELL! Grab a little bit of everything on a shrimp - omg flavor explosion! The shrimp helps cut the spice and adds a lot of sweetness to the dish! We order half spicy now just because we want to actually taste things after eating this lol but I totally recommend this either way! 6/5 The Nam Tok is always a great option! I can't take spicy so I order it without and I like that I can customize it and tweak it to my liking! It's FULL of meat, perfectly cooked pork liver, super comforting and thick broth. 5/5

Caribbean pineapple drink. Very sweet but tasty.

This place is decent for some drinks and snacks. The service wasn't great, which is why I only gave it 3-stars. The waitor was too busy talking to people inside to check on us so I just kept going in to order. Other than that the drink selections were decent and they have some creative cocktails. We also had an appetizer of the meat balls and they were good!

Woodside/Elmhurst really has the best and most authentic Thai spots in the city. Pata Paplean serves Thai noodles, either in soup or dry form and their food is pretty fantastic. Located on Woodside Avenue across from another must try Thai spot, it's a perfect place for those that want to get a taste of authentic Thai noodles with zero compromise for the Western palate. Here, they put the full amount of spices and flavors and put all the goodies like liver that some places omit. The tom yum dry noodles are a combination of sweet, sour and spicy and are a must try. The tom yum soup noodles are swimming in a perfectly balanced broth of sweet, sour and spicy that warms the soul. Portions are smaller than your average meal and that's because it's consistent with portions that Thai people find in Thailand where people eat smaller portions more frequently throughout the day. Prices here are fair but some might balk at 8-10 dollars for a small bowl of noodles. Service is friendly but food comes out a bit slow since they can't make too many bowls at the same time. Still, most definitely worth a try for those that want an authentic taste.
