Wanted to grab a few drinks with a friend to catch up. We stopped by on a weekday and it got busy around 7pm. We ordered at the bar and service was quick. They have a solid drinks menu and decent prices. The cocktails are strong and taste good- not too sweet which I appreciated. Would recommend if you're in the area and want to grab a decent drink!

What a perfect spot.. I love a great cocktail and I surely was not dissapointed. Sweetheart is that BUD lite type of guy and the bartender(which if whom is also the owner) was more than helpful to assist in suiting his palate. The bathroom was nice and clean.I loved the decor and look very closely at the wall paper! We definitely will be stoping back in when we voyage to the city!I can only imagine how fun this bar is at night!

You may have difficulty finding Diamond Dogs, as there's no signage and it's got black curtains by the front, but just look for the block number and head in! Inside, you'll find such a chill little bar with the greatest outdoor patio farther back. I hung out there with a group of about ten and we got there around 5pm to lock down a table for a few hours. It gets busy, so if you're a big group, plan accordingly! And if the forecast predicts rain, head for the table with the umbrella! Bar atmosphere, but kid-friendly! The bartenders are super friendly and chill. John kept coming out to clean up our table and even share some of our snacks! Of course, the big benefit is BYOF. The bar doesn't have food itself. So get some food for the gang and relax, because if you can't do that here, you can't do that anywhere!

Cool spot, it can get packed later on at night. But they have sole solid drinks and cool bartenders. cant wait time come back here and try some of the other cocktails!

I've always been curious about the unmarked, dimly-lit bar that is Diamond Dogs. We came here last night and it was quite packed. They had an outdoor space but it was just a little bit too cold to sit outside last night. Thankfully the tables were turning over fast enough. They have happy hour until 8 which we just made! They have a speakeasy vibe but they're a little too easy to find. They're also a bit more affordable. I'd classify them more as a "subtle dive bar." They don't serve food but they allow you bring it in. Since we were on a hot apple cider theme last night, we ordered the spiced one that they offered. It was delicious, and very spicy! I'm not sick but I'm sure I knocked out whatever preliminary germs I may have had. They offer an array of cocktails and draft brews. I would definitely like to return when it's a little more quiet so I can absorb the dark ambiance a bit better. I'm glad I can finally remove Diamond Dogs from my bookmarks now.

Cool bar in Queens with a great selection of local beers on tap / and in bottles. Open late so you can wet your whistle well into the night. Dark, woody environment with a decent amount of sitting/ standing area even for NYC standards. Service here is excellent - don't recall having to ask for my glass to be refilled.

Ask the Community - Diamond Dogs

Is this a gay bar? based on the name i would guess it is, but not sure from the reviews

    No.

    Are dogs allowed?

Actually, no...no outdoor seating in the front.

Why don't you have a sign in front of your bar? Just curious!

My guess would be to give it a speakeasy kind of feel. All the locals know it's a bar and most that don't find out from word of mouth.

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.

The bartender, the one person who should be welcoming and engaging, came across as rude and lacked any charisma. On a Friday night, good energy behind the bar makes a huge difference, and that was completely missing. I ordered a margarita, which is one of the simplest and most common cocktails to make. I asked for it really sweet with plenty of salt on the rim. Instead, it came out barely sweet and with almost no salt. For a $17 margarita, I expected much better. I've had to return the drink because I've had better margaritas for $12 at other places. While waiting for my friend, I had to wait with a glass of water because I didn't trust the way they made the drink. The bartender told me I either needed to order another drink or move, which felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. To be fair, the food was good and the space itself is nice. However, the bar service left a very poor impression. There are plenty of more affordable places where the staff are friendly and make guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place. Give this place a 6.5
