Been using them for awhile with no real issues. Only when THEY messed up a prescription did I get really nasty customer service. It was not my fault that they misread the prescription and I should not have been treated so rudely when I tried to follow up. UPDATE: Finishing up the prescription. Realized the "sickness" I am having might be side effects and have 1 pill left. Called the pharmacist. Me: "I have one pill left and I am having side effects. Is it an issue if I toss it?" Pharmacist: "take it with food" Me: "I have been" Pharmacist: "take the last pill and hope for the best" Um.... no. Changed from 2 stars to 1. read more

I purchased Hundreds of $$$ of products from them, each time I call in another order they raise the price, Saying the price went up. Prices dont go up on discontinued products. The LAST few orders they raked me over on the shipping charges. I am done with buying from these rip-off people... I would recomend not going near. hmm strong arm robbers with register read more

When you enter Pasteur Pharmacy on East 34th Street (they have a sister store on the UES), be prepared to suck in your gut and do a bit of a hopscotch: This store carries double to triple the inventory its small space can hold . . . and yet, somehow, they manage to stack everything in--all the way up to the ceiling. Aside from the super-fast pharmacy (don't mess with the tough gals working back there), you'll find every professional styling product under the sun, commercial body lotions to medicated ones, a wall of nutritional supplements, natural and organic skin-care items, European-imported sun creams, and even several luxury brands like L'Occitane and Dr. Perricone. Some of the more random products we can recall: soaps with salicylic acid, tar, and yogurt; Swiss-made eyelash-enhancing serums; Frownies (stickers to put on your wrinkles at night); Japanese-imported mascaras; and even Jessica Simpson hair extensions. You're almost guaranteed to find any product here, and if by some strange chance you can't, they'll usually be able to order it and have it shipped to the store within a few hours. read more

Pasteur Pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - New York, New York

This place is amazing. Has hard to find products, including natural products.

Truly a fantastic experience!! I am a lover of fine toiletries, shaving/grooming products and fragrance. Specifically, Knize Ten is difficult to find - and they had it. The associate on the floor, Tom, helped me (with excellent, detailed knowledge) locate EXACTLY what I was looking for and the Manager (Steven) was impeccable in handling the transaction and process of boxing up what I needed and shipped it to me here in California within a day. It was well-protected and all arrived safe & sound. They have my loyalty - a shopper in CA with a 'local pharmacy' in New York City, imagine that... I highly recommend them!!! read more

This place is amazing. Went there for the first time yesterday as my doctor said they were one of only two places in the city capable of making up compounds reliably. The store is a gem with an incredible array of lotions, shaving supplies, soaps, shampoos, etc. Counter staff very friendly and helpful. Pharmacist was super helpful to a guy who was in pain and very upset because his insurance wasn't covering his prescriptions.. she had patience and compassion. Loved it! read more

If you're just getting into wet shaving and have no clue what the hundreds of available products smell and feel like as you shop online, this place is a MUST. Pasteur boasts a truly friendly, helpful staff and has nearly everything you would ever want to see and smell. Pricing is competitive with what you'll find online to boot. If you're a seasoned wet-shaving aficionado and you don't yet know this place, this will be your candy store. read more

Incredible selection of shaving supplies, including hard-to-find (non-bootleg) blades such as Feather. If you use a safety razor and want to determine what brand of blade works best for your face, they have a huge selection of 10-pack boxes that allow you to take home a "sampler pack." read more

For safety razor lovers, everything one could want. The best selection I have seen in the tri-state area Terrence read more

Beyond Expectation!! Really, this place is awesome! Long story on why, but I needed to make my first ever DE razor purchase. This wan't something I wanted to buy online as with no experience I wanted to feel the weight and check out different handle lengths. Originally, it looked like my only option was The Art of Shaving but they seemed to have a lacking selection and huge markup. Found this place through Yelp and am SOOO happy I took a shot and went to visit. Leon helped me with selection as I'm a complete noob. Took a ton of time to make sure I totally understood the options (good time for a side note - absolutely insane selection available). He was super helpful and actually steered me AWAY from the more expensive products in favor of a choice more suited to a beginner. Not something you run into very often anymore. This will without a doubt be my all the time/every time location for all of my shaving needs. read more

My favorite pharmacy in NYC, and my favorite all-around store in Murray Hill. The drugs I priced here for out-of-pocket purchase were significantly cheaper than the soulless proliferating chain stores nearby. The staff is efficient, lively and helpful. I like them very much as well as the store that they keep stocked floor to ceiling with everything you might possibly need, from Cafe Bustelo to batteries to fancy soap to smart small umbrellas. Considering the volume of inventory, the prices are very modest. This is an old-school NYC neighborhood store where every square inch is crammed with necessities, a vanishing breed amid the onslaught of Duane Reades. Please shop here often so this store will always stay in business. read more

Best pharmacy there is! Such amazing personal attention! They help you with whatever your needs are and if you do not see what you need, ask them. If you have any medical questions, there is always someone you can talk to and they really care for your well being. read more

My husband and I have been using Pasteur for over 20 years + for our prescriptions and over the counter items. This is the most caring and pleasant place to deal with. From the lady at the front of the stores cash register to the women who answer the phones and ring up your items at the back register, I only have positive things to say about all. Leon is a joy and pays attention to all your needs, has time to answer questions and is so helpful. The female pharmacist (sorry I forgot your name) called to ask me to let her know when a pill I take is running low because the last 2 times she had a hard time finding and ordering it. She wants me to try getting to her well before I'm ready for another refill so she will have it ready in stock for me. You don't find this care in Duanne Reade or any of the other mega-drug stores. The over the counter items are usually less than these mega stores and hard to fine items can be found at Pasteur. They will also happily order anything that they don't have in stock if available. PS: They deliver! read more

Great store. Lots of exotic hair product. The men's shaving supply is out of this world. Took my nephew from out of town there who loves shaving products and he was in heaven. Highly recommend it. Staff was soooo helpful and kind. read more

Best selection of mens' DR / wet shaving / shave brushes / shave soaps in the city. Prices are really good too.

Stay clear from this pharmacy!! They are selling old, expired products.I live nearby and I always tried to buy my cosmetics in there in order to help this "small" business. Yesterday as I was buying my products, I overheard one lady asking for refund because the product she bought was far from what she is acquainted. When I got home and opened my product (klorane leave in) it was pure vinegar!!! I tried to get my money back but I was yelt at and offered store credits. Bad costumer service!! Be careful, principally if u are buying medicine... You can be a lil bit messed up! read more

This has been my most favorite store for years. They have everything! Mom and Pop stores are the best. If they update their info on this site they should include the hours of operation. read more

These stores are the best in New York City, the inventory is huge and the service is great. The pharmacy is what a drug store should be, they actually answer your questions and always seem to have what you want and need in stock. Kevin D read more

These guys are a joke. Plenty of product but a pharmacist who would rather roll his eyes that fill a script. Couldn't be bothered to even look it, too busy prancing about and admiring his nails and when we grabbed script and our details back he got all huffed and proceeded to shout "Well have a good day then! " We walk past the shop all the time as it is near us and never miss the opportunity to tell people who may look like they are going to go in that they are making a mistake. I am sure the owner doesn't want his business run this way but I also doubt that he has an clue how these idiots reflect on him. read more

An old-school pharmacy with a fantastic selection, Pasteur holds its ground as Duane Reades and Rite Aids continue to sprout up on every corner. This is because they have a ton of high-end products that aren't available in mainstream pharmacies, and their pharmacists are really friendly and competent. Drawbacks? The place is so narrow that you're lucky to walk down the aisle without knocking something over, the prices are on the high side and some of the counter staff can be rude at times. read more

Pasteur is absolutely one of the best. I don't understand why NYers continue to go to impersonal, big-name "pharmacies" like Duane Reade. Pasteur has knowledgeable, caring staff; an amazing selection, and delivers prescriptions free of charge! read more

A shave Mecca in NYC Hey gents, I wanted to share my experience of the most incredible place for classic shaving gear that I have ever seen. Pasteur Pharmacy on 53 east 34th street is the center of all things good and pure in the shaving world (maybe not all things but many of them). I returned a cream that my wife had bought me (that I asked her for) after realizing that I did not care for the smell at all. The woman returned it, and let me exchange when she did not have to. There was everything under the sun in this totally unassuming pharmacy. Almost every product from the three T's, D H Harris, Tabac, Floris, obscure italian soaps, wool fat soaps, Porasso and more. They had, most good blades for DE's like sharks, derby's, feathers, Astra's, gold gillettes etc, and even straight razors from Dovo (not shave ready of course) and safety's from Merkur. The place had Simpson brushes as well and even high quality strops. Almost any big house item you think they could have, they had. I was struck. I could have stayed in the store for days. I felt I was looking at every review board I've been reading for the last 10 days, trying to decide which soap to get. I got the floris it was only 40 dollars there instead of 50 on the internet. If you guys live in the NYC area or are visiting and want to see a store with it all, then drop by. On top of it all, I'm pretty sure the store is family owned. I wish there were more places like this in a city that is slowly turning into a Disney Land version of itself. I will be back. read more

By far the best selection of shaving creams, razors, brushes and lotions that I've found in the city. Prices are on the high side; service is nearly non-existent. read more

came here for an air cast- I had called earlier that day and was told that it was in stock. so I limped a few blocks to come pick one up and was told that they were not available in sizes small or medium (think someome shoulve told me that one)... There are so many reasons to buy at this pharmacy. Not only they deliver your prescription in no time. If you are interested in finding the best skin care, hair products and vitamins at the best price, this is the place to go. I'm not talking about any products. They have the best brands you find in sephora, high end salons and best department stores. The only thing is that you kind of have to be familiar with the brands and what you are looking for, you don't go here for the retail shopping experience, you go there to find good products. Let's keep them in business so we can safe money and stay pretty! read more

While the selection of certain products is impressive, the store can be pretty depressing. And while some employees are nice enough, others (like the guy who stocks the shelves and the pharmacist) need to learn how to be more customer service oriented. Finally, their store hours are highly limited and, on a recent October Saturday, they closed at 4PM because of "Summer Hours." WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT??? read more

Really nice drugstore. I didn't have insurance and I'm a student so they gave me a discounted price on a one time medication. I'm definitely going to go back though for their huge assortment of high end products! read more

First time walk-in this afternoon and I was immediately blown away by the selection and they way it is easily accessible. After perusing around the shaving items, the staff was extremely knowledgeable and really friendly. This place is fantastic. Has that mom and pop feel and Leon always makes sure to take care of his customers.

An amazing treasure cave of toiletries (esp. imported, high-end goodies) and a purveyor of attentive, helpful, personalized pharmacy services. There's little here you won't find (if you ask) in the admittedly cramped quarters, but the upside is an astonishing range of products and prices that more often than not beat those of nearby chains. And... they deliver. A gem. read more

Mecca of all shave supplies. Straight, double edge. You need it, they have it. Leon and staff the best. Highly recommend

I don't know what shop Joe G walked into, but the real Pasteur on 34th is amazing. I left my doc's office, where he had just transmitted the Rx via the Internet; I walked the five blocks to Pasteur and went to the pharmacy counter, where on only my second visit they knew me by name and had my prescriptions on the counter, ready to give me. What's a Duane Reade? read more

This is the best pharmacy around, I work in the area so Im in there often. They have everything you can want. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. The only thing that I noticed is the last few times I was in there with a co-worker this one girl in the pharmacy area was so LOUD. Things were fine when all of a sudden I hear this loud voice screaming out someone's name, at the top of her lungs. When I heard her I was looking at eye drops which is a good distance from where she was. I just had to see who this was, it was a girl with glasses filling prescriptions. Wow not professional at all. Love the pharmacy, hated the headache. read more

arrogant and the dynamic duo up front can afford to be rude and make things difficult because they have the help of ownership and management. my recommendation would be for them to hire 2 new front-women in the pharmacy who actually care about people and their jobs. read more
