If I could give less than one star, I would. We have prescriptions for a couple controlled substances and they filled two prescriptions for us 1 time without issue so we thought we had finally found a pharmacy we could count on. But no. The next time we went to fill the prescriptions, which, BTW, our Drs only send in at 28 days after the last prescription was submitted, they said they don't feel comfortable filling it anymore and when I pleaded for them to make an exception just one more time (you go through terrible withdrawal if you go even 1/2 day without the medication) they wouldn't even listen and hung up on me! What kind of customer service is that?! I've read these other reviews and obviously they must have been filling regular non-controlled medications cause I found them rude, unhelpful and, frankly, condescending and judgemental. It is not out fault that we are prescribed medications that have been demonized in the media! We have legitimate health issues that require medication and all these people making it more difficult to get our medications is creating new heroin addicts every day! It isn't fair. When you try everything to stop the pain and finally find something that works, you shouldn't have to go through mind-bending lengths just to get that medication! Anyone who says to just get off of the medication and find another way to deal with the pain obviously has no idea what they are talking about and have never been in serious pain that required heavy medication. My husband has had several surgeries each for his knees, and right shoulder, has several herniated discs from GOING THROUGH A TRUCK WINDOW in a pedestrian vs automobile accident (where he actually DIED and was brought back), severe nerve pain in his right foot, as well as repetitive stress injuries and pain from minor accidents occurring at work. I have 2 herniated discs and a bulging disk in my cervical and lumbar regions of my spine, sciatica nerve pain shooting down both legs CONSTANTLY, nerve damage and pain in both feet, as well as repetitive stress injuries from work and being a pedestrian in a hit and run automobile accident. We are not faking, we are not crying wolf, we are not some junkies trying to score opioids. We are legitimate pain management patients and all this crap in the news and media is making our lives a living hell. Pharmacies and doctors buying into all this hype and making it impossible for patients to fill their medications ought to be ashamed of themselves and this pharmacy is the WORST. They should never have filled our first prescription. Now we can't find another pharmacy and my husband ran out of medication yesterday and I run out in a couple weeks. WTF are we supposed to do now?! (sorry for the rant but we are really frustrated) read more

I have been meaning to write a review for Triboro Pharmacy for a while, as this place is very deserving of a great review. I have used this pharmacy many times over the last couple years and it is always an excellent experience. The owner John and his wife (apologies that I don't know her name!) are very caring, dedicated, and give personalized attention. My first encounter with this pharmacy was when I had sprained my ankle and needed crutches, but I couldn't walk to the pharmacy. I had called around to a few places hoping I could find a pharmacy that would deliver crutches, but none would. Finally I called Triboro and before I even asked about delivery, the owner John offered to deliver them to me free of charge. He showed up at my door with them about 15 minutes later, and refused to accept a tip. Also, the crutches were less expensive than at all the other pharmacies I had called. My most recent experience at Triboro was getting my flu shot, and after this experience, I had to finally write a review. I had a such a nice time talking with John and his wife, and the injection was painless! Most importantly, they go out of their way to order mercury-free flu shots! Mercury is a known neurotoxin which is what causes flu shots to sometimes be harmful and therefore controversial. Despite this, most places simply order the vaccine that contains mercury because it is cheaper, and of course, don't inform patients about it. Triboro pharmacy does not go out of their way to advertise their mercury-free shots, I only know because I asked. They administer them out of true caring. I'm so grateful to have this awesome pharmacy in my neighborhood! read more

Like a good local pharmacy, this place has better one on one interaction and ability to stock meds faster than a large chain. They are also one of the only pharmacies in the area that delivers. However, I had to stop using them due to 3 major issues: 1. A delivery girl once came all the way into my house and I found her standing outside my bathroom when I emerged. I was polite to her but I was appalled she just walked in the open door and came up 2 flights of stairs into my apartment. 2. They gave me the wrong pills once. I called and asked because I was used to capsules and I was given tablets. But was assured it was just because it was generic. It wasn't for a long time that I learned it was actually the non-extended release version of my meds. When I called and asked, they should have actually been much more careful and not just assumed I didn't know generic from normal meds. But they insisted it was correct. What if it had been completely wrong!? The fact that I had a maintenance medication and suddenly had TOTALLY different pills should have been a huge red flag for them to seriously listen but they were adamant I had the right pills. 3. The owner, John, knew that I had a friend that also went there. When I came in, John actually commented to me on my friend's meds. Passing opinions about what another person was taking and judging it in front of someone else. WILDLY inappropriate. He's a nice guy but he is far too opinionated about people's medications. This is not something to discuss with another person and I never should feel like I am being judged for my meds and I did that way on more than one occasion myself. But hearing him talk about someone else's prescriptions which should have been confidential was the last straw, I am no longer a patron there. EDIT: I removed a star because the owner felt the need to accuse me of lying about being a customer there. (I have receipts for prescriptions filled there) and the correct behavior of a business owner would be to apologize. This is another strike against this business. read more

Sorry to hear that one person wrote such a negative review based on one situation. Today was my first visit and I am with the rest of you the service was wonderful and personable as I walked in the door. Staff is super friendly and John is a life saver. A pharmacy that delivers for free, has reasonable prices for the non-insured, and a Notary Public, plus other goodies (a wide variety of chocolates...jackpot) well it just doesn't get any better than that. I am sold and will proceed to have my prescriptions transferred here from Duane Reade. I also agree 110% that we need to support the small businesses. I am not use to such personable service in NY. Found this place out of necessity while looking for aloe vera to treat a sunburn. Tried the CVS down the street and they were out of stock. I was happy to have found Triboro! From the moment we walked in John was helpful and provided input on which product was best for my needs. He suggested a slightly more expensive brand that was all natural, and actually reviewed the ingredients to show how much of a value it was. I've actually tried several brands of aloe vera in the past and never liked the gelly texture, but the brand John recommended was 1000x better than what I've had in the past. Well worth the extra $2-$3. And when we told John we had just moved to the neighborhood he spent about ten minutes with us giving tips on where to eat, where to shop, etc. Made me feel like I was actually living in a smaller neighborhood where people look out for one another. Overall great experience. I recommend this pharmacy for the personal touch, which is so often lacking in most stores, chains or mom and pops. read more

I can't say enough good things about this Pharmacy. John, the owner, and his wife are always incredibly warm, sympathetic, and helpful when you go in feeling your worst. They charge WAY less than big chain stores, which is a godsend when you are without insurance like me. This might be one of the worst pharmacies I've ever came across. The only reason why I decided to give them two stars is because of their wide varieties of selections compare to others on ditmars. The lady was very helpful to me in looking for a few items. I had looked at views from online yelp about this place and saw a yelp review from a former employee. But I guess it was removed for restrictions that weren't allowed on yelp. I agree the owner was horrible. He was completely rude to someone on the phone who was interested in a position there. Later started arguing with his wife completely unprofessional and I only stayed there for 10 mins I don't understand how this pharmacy could have any good reviews. My opinion stay at your current pharmacy for medication . This place is not worth it read more
