This is by far the worst customer service I've yet to experience in my life. I came to pick up a simple package and the worker named (ALBA) was nothing short of rude. She looked at me in a derogatory way, while moving her lips in such grotesque displeasure. According to her my package was not there even when I showed her the tracking number and provided my name to facilitate the search, but ultimately she did not want to help me whatsoever. She sent me to the pharmacy next door to inquire about said package ^ even though she knew it was located within Walgreens. I came back to the store only for her to tell me "oh you must go to the pharmacy" after wasting 30 minutes with this back and forth, all because she didn't want to help me. I go to the pharmacy and luckily the girls that we're there we're much kinder. Thankfully with the help of Andy they found the package that was located where (ALBA) initially told me that there wasn't anything. I'm not sure how that deters anyone from stealing, as once you get it, you can walk away with it once you get ahold of it. The cashiers are so slow... If you work the cash register, the least you can say to a customer is hello, especially when the customer says hello to you. I approached the register with my items said hello, she didn't say anything to me and proceeded to have a conversation with her coworker about weather she was staying or not, as if I wasn't there. Then after I paid for my items I said thank you and guess what, no response, she just continued on with her conversation with her coworker. The store manager should train their staff of common human etiquette especially if they are the ones dealing with customers at point of sale. read more

They need more pharmacy technicians around the clock. Every time I come in to pick up my medicine (which takes only less than 1 minute), I end up waiting on average of 10 minutes on line. It's easy to pick on the people in front who hold up the line with 21 questions, but it's really the business' doing by not controlling the flow of traffic and only having one to two technicians at its busiest hours. They need to have three lines open and one of them should be for pick up only (not asking 21 questions). The cashiers also work too slow on the regular checkout lines with very slow customers who don't know whether they are coming or going. It's very irritating when my purchase always takes less than one minute. read more

After finishing a meal at Applebee's in Astoria made a quick stop in Elmhurst and look its a Walgreens on the corner and I do need paper towels cause one can never have enough .Its late so I can't really sit my the closed pharmacy area and read a few trashy magazines but I can roam the whole place in less then 5 minutes and grab the Walgreens brand paper towels 2 for 10 bucks and scott tissue paper 5 bucks for 12 rolls. As I make my way to the stone face Walgreens cashier , darn it they have plenty of movie theater box candies for 5 boxes for 5 bucks and I hope my teeth don't rot or fall out , damn the sour patch kids. The pharmacy has lots of difficulty filling my prescriptions in a timely fashion. I worked with them over the course of 5 months to nail down a system that seemed to work. But after just two months I'm again waiting a week for my meds even though they're supposed to be special ordered for me each month. So for 6 out of the past 8 months, I've been given conflicting excuses, been advised to give them a call each time to give them a heads up, and now I've been asked to submit my prescriptions a week in advance. I have complied with each previous request, so I will also start to submit my prescriptions a week early. I hope for the best, but don't expect anything to change. Worst part is how unhelpful the staff can be. Always deflecting blame and making it seem like it's my fault some how. Very unprofessional and extremely difficult to deal with. read more

The reason I am writing a review is to commend the pharmacy staff here, they are ALL wonderful!! There is this one woman, I wish i knew her name but she's asian, kinda tan and wears pretty eyeliner who always is smiling and VERY helpful, she just knows how to get things done, quick! I had some problem with my insurance and she figured out a solution and got me my medication within minutes. She's sweet and up for challenges. I really appreciated her service. Thank you sweet, pretty eyeliner woman, you made my day when I was sick :) Also the main pharmacist - an Asian man, tall kinda thin - also wonderful. With online refills of prescriptions, I don't have to wait. Many of the doctors in the area can automatically send prescriptions to this pharmacy and all you need to do is pick it up. Tl;dr: The pharmacist lied to me and her co-workers laughed and scoffed at my serious question and concerns. They deceived me into buying the pills they had instead of my Dr's prescription, which is highly unethical. This review is for the pharmacy. I went to get my regular refill, the pharmacist told me that they didn't have it. I asked specifically if all Walgreens have stopped carrying it, or just this Walgreens. She told me that no Walgreens has it. Because she made it seem like I didn't have a choice, I got another brand that they had available. When I got home, I looked up the new brand. It has a lot of negative reviews and people react badly to it. So I went to the other Walgreens closer to Elmhurst station and they were able to give me my original pills. So clearly, the pharmacist in this Walgreens LIED to me about it being not available. Elmhurst station Walgreens told me that I can take the new brand back to this Walgreens so I can get the pills that the doctor originally prescribed (otherwise, I would be short on the pills). This Walgreens refused to cancel the new pills. Okay~ No problem, I will just have to go to my doctor and get an extra prescription. But then I wanted to be certain wether it's just this Walgreens that doesn't have my pills or if all Walgreens have stopped - so I will need to change my drugstore. Now they tell me that they don't know. I told them that I'd rather not switch pills since people have terrible reactions to the new one. They (a lanky Asian guy and a chubby woman) just laughed and scoffed at me saying "it's the same thing". Yes, they do have the same active ingredients, but the inactive ingredients are vastly different. And people may have allergic reactions or other adverse effects to inactive ingredients. During the whole time, they were doing other things and talked to me like I was an idiot. Their behavior was extremely dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. when everything around me is closed, walgreens is open for late night snack. they have everything too. the soups are filling & they have some frozen foods when all the other stores are closed. i come here for my biotin pills and they have a wide selection of vitamins. they also have electronic toothbrush, bandages and stationary as well as cleaning supplies. they have a huge section for candy and another section for sunscreen, toys, stuffed animals for the holidays each month. i love that it's open 24/7 and have vegetarian food options read more

Good for snacks and cold drinks on the go! Or whatever quick shopping you need. Not the cheapest prices, so I wouldn't recommend doing all your shopping here, just the basics. Have a parking lot. Redbox inside, but since only one machine, sometimes it takes forever to wait for someone to make their selection. Passport pics are expensive.... $10.99 for 2 pics.... charging an arm and a leg for tiny ass pictures. Here's the story, I needed to get passport pictures for someone who's currently overseas. I have their passport image on a usb. I went to CVS, Target, Duane Reade, every place is telling me the same old crap that they can't develop that image in a passport size picture and that I need that person to come in and take a new passport picture. It's retarded. How hard is it to resize a damn picture on your computer? Anyway, my last stop was Walgreens. I went in, the photo lady by the name of Naila came to the rescue. I told her my problem, that I have the passport image on a usb and that this person is overseas and is not able to be here this moment to take a new picture. She understood my issue. She resized my image and printed them out ASAP! The issue is real damn simple, I already have the passport image on file, how hard is it to just resize it and print it for me? I don't need to take a new passport picture if I already have the image on hand, I just need you to print them out! The photo centers at Target, CVS, Duane Reade are a disgrace! It's such a simple task and they can't even do it. It's freakin pathetic! Verdict - Even though Walgreens charges a lot for passport photos, at least they got the job done. read more

My mom came in to get her blood pressure checked. She was told to wait 10 minutes so that she can calm down and get an accurate reading. After waiting for 15 minutes, the pharmacist came out and told her to wait outside so he can administer a flu shot. He told her she would be next. After that, he came back and made her wait another while. He came out and told her to leave again while he administered another flu shot. And so she did. My mom started to become very emotional and felt like he did no care for her health. Another associate saw that she was crying and offered to take my mothers blood pressure for her. AS WE ALL KNOW BLOOD PRESSURES FLUCTUATE DUE TO EMOTIONS. so she again told her to wait another 10 minutes. We never got an accurate reading after staying there for 45 minutes. It appalls me that this type of customer service was provided. A 5 minute blood pressure check should have been quick and easy and not cause any problems. YET THIS EMOTIONAL TRAUMA CAUSED MY MOTHER HEALTH CONCERNS. If she was to have a stroke due to her blood pressure rising higher due to the staff, this Walgreens would be the cause of it. A pharmaceutical retailer should place a customers health first, not further damage it. Come here for pringles, or a bottle of water. DO NOT COME FOR HEALTH CONCERNS OR CARE. Everytime I come she has a miserable look on her face and would always rather stack boxes or close a register early -- rather than assist her 1 associate tackling a mile long line.
