Make sure you try one of the specials.

We have a relatively new restaurant you need to try if you like Italian and/or seafood, particularly crab cakes. The owners are from Maryland and they brought their delicious blue crab recipes to the upstate. I have never tasted better, and that includes at the coast. Pastavino has been open 9 months in Greer (right off 85 at Pelham Rd. 441 The Parkway Greer,SC Make a reservation and ask for Jennifer. She was an amazing server

We came on a Wednesday night and it was packed! Upon arriving they asked us if we had a reservation and sadly we didn't (not knowing we would need one for a Wednesday). We waited for a table for about 20 minutes. The inside is updated/modern and you would never know you're in a retail strip center. We got the crab appetizer as a starter, delicious! I got the veal Parmesan, full of flavor (I did wish it came with pasta or mashed potatoes though). The only negative I would say is it was slow. This is a place you go for a long dinner. We only saw our waitress when she took our order, brought the appetizer, and then another gentlemen brought our dinner. We had empty waters for majority of the meal. It was busy, the meal was so delicious that we will give it another chance.

Recently tried the much talked about Pastavino and it certainly lived up to the hype. It was slow when we arrived, but quickly got packed. The seating can be a little tight, but not uncomfortably so. The service was quick and attentive. The food was delicious! We started with the Zucchini chips which were perfectly fried -- light and crispy. I had the chicken parm which was enough for two! Overall, great spot for date night or hearty dinner with family.

Pasta and seafood

My wife and I had dinner there tonight and the meal was outstanding. We both had the Seafood Chesapeake and it couldn't have been any better. The jumbo shrimp, scallops, crabmeat and pasta was excellen. This entree special was on the Restaurant Week special that included a starter and desert. We ate at the bar our bartender was super. We can't wait to return.

Wow, my new favorite place to eat! I love that this family owned. We finally checked it out last night and had an incredible experience! We called to speak to the hostess before leaving the house to see if there was a wait. My experience in the past with most restaurants is that the hostess answering the phone can be kurt and hang up at the end of the conversation without saying goodbye. This was not the case with Pastavino, Marie was personable and sweet! As soon as we walked in the door, the ambience was warm and inviting. Our server, Heather, was fun, knowledgeable, and attentive (not just an order taker like most places). We were impressed with the spectacular food choices, and the portion sizes were impressive. Of course, the food was divine with a tremendous amount of flavor. We loved everything from the charming ambience, creative cocktails, delicious food, impeccable service, and everything in between! We highly recommend checking them out, and we cannot wait to go back!

Hubby and I went here on a friend's recommendation. First, ask for Conner to be your server. He is awesome. I would give 10 stars if I could. I'm not sure I can give a proper description of the food. It is Italian. The seafood. The seafood is the best. I am from Florida. Haven't had any good seafood since moving here. We have found our seafood place. I got the seafood Alfredo and hubby got the stuffed flounder. Basically, it was broiled flounder on top of a Maryland broiled crab cake. I just want that crab cake right on top of my fettuccine Alfredo. We will be back.

The food is delicious and they give you generous portions; enough for two meals. The crab cakes are true Maryland crab cakes.

Our server was Jazlyn and she was fantastic; friendly and yet very professional. She was also clearly proud of the food coming out of the kitchen and definitely steered us well to some amazing dishes as first- time customers. We began with very well-prepared cocktails and were given time to enjoy those as we perused the menu. Appetizers ordered were the Carciofi: artichoke bottom stuffed with crab and on a bed of the most divine cream sauce which made us doubly glad that we had also ordered the fresh, warm focaccia bread to soak up every single drop. (I could eat that sauce as a soup!) We then had the Costoletta, a breaded bone-in pork chop in a cognac and veal stock topped with a light, lemon-dressed arugula salad. The plate was beautiful and delicious. Oh the sauces here! I had the lobster ravioli and while it was #3 of our favorite dishes, I would still order it again. All were enjoyed with a lovely glass of Chianti. We ended the evening with a nice Creme Brûlée and coffees, already talking about our NEXT VISIT.

Our server was friendly, attentive and made a few suggestions for us. We started with the focaccia bread which was delicious, my fiance got the filet (on special)-this really stole the show. It came with bacon wrapped asparagus and Gorgonzola mashed potatoes, done perfectly medium rare. I ordered the bolognese and we both agreed it was lacking a lot of flavor. The meat was great and tender but the dish overall just had an overpowering tomato sauce flavor rather than a rich beef flavor that we would usually expect. Overall it was a great dining experience, might have to go back to try more menu items.

Servers are the hub of Merrell's wheel keeping orders running smoothly, efficiently and customers all ages happy. Today's Server was fabulous Abbey. She shines "bright like a diamond." Paying close attention to requests, drinks, friendly and engaging. I will get the one bump out of the way that has nothing to do with Merrell's and everything to do with those persons lacking situational awareness. Remember mother teaching inside voice versus outside voice esp on cell phones with LOUD speakers. We all have a right to enjoy our meal within a reasonable sound decibel. I said, let's move. He said no, we'll wait for our food and eat right here. That was until the first deafening shriek emanating from the cell and then he snapped to attention like he was back in the war. Oh, yes. We moved far enough to another table and Abbey didn't judge us. She did comment but you guys were there first. Peace matters. I'll take peace, final answer. We ate a light lunch today. Let's get serious tho! You cannot go wrong with the six (6) mini Calzones and Stromboli Appetizer! Impeccable! Perfect dough, sweet Italian sausage, mozzarella, ricotta cheese, homemade Italian marinara dipping sauce; not the salty paste casually served elsewhere like it's not important. Dipping sauce make a difference. You know what I'm saying here. Now, wait, hubby and I def shared. Portions are generous. He ordered a Cheesesteak all the way and made a claim I've never heard before. The cheese steak was the best he's ever had. Wait a dern minute! I'm a Philly girl. Home of Pat's and Geno's. Them's fighting words! TBH. Not everyone knows a good pizza or authentic Italian food but Merrell's Pizza knows. You don't have to believe me. Stop on by and prepare to be well fed as is the Italian tradition. Located in downtown Greer, SC. There's limited street parking and ample rear parking for sure. Delightful outdoor seating is available if you prefer. Clean and spacious. And, oh btw, there's a Sunday Brunch 10am-3pm I think with unlimited Mimosas. Check with Merrell's on the hours. Phone - 864-469-7409. Enjoy! Disclaimer: We do not work for Merrell's or related to anyone nor receive any perks for our review. Difinitely give them a try.

Broccoli could be less cooked, baked potato, salad, asparagus and red snapper did not disappoint. It was a fun evening. In fact, the 5 other couples we were there with all enjoyed their food. The service was fine. Ambiance was nice too. So why the one star? Because there were 12 of us, we were auto charged a 20% gratuity. That was expected, even though we all had separate checks. I guess we had to pay a "sit together with your friends" tax. The auto tip was subtly listed and easily missed if you didn't scrutinize the bill. But listed below everything, in its usual customary spot on a dinner check, was a line for an "additional tip" with suggested amounts. 20% isn't enough for you? If my wife and I had sat by ourselves, we wouldn't have been charged an auto tip, but because we're with a group, that gives you reason to try to squeeze some more money out of us? This is disgusting behavior. Covid is over, get your hands out of my pockets and stop begging.

The croutons were crispy, and the lettuce tasted high quality. The kids pasta tasted of basil a lot. I wouldn't really recommend it for most kids (they are pretty picky lol) But it was good! The sauce was thin and flavorful. The pasta was cooked well for a child's taste. Our two main pastas we got were the White Lighting and the Tumblin Tumbleweed. The White Lightning was creamy and rich. It was basically a fancy Alfredo pasta with stuff in it, but you can't go wrong with that! It was really tasty overall. The Tumblin Tumbleweed was amazing, though. The pasta was cooked very very well in my opinion! (Al Dente.) It had a distinct truffle taste to it, which I loved. It had a ton of stuff in it, like mushrooms. It was delicious. By the way, if you order an order of bread and get this pasta, you can dip the bread into the sauce of this pasta when you're finished. The service was amazing. Our waitress was very kind. She handled our feedback on the basil spaghetti well! The atmosphere was very nice. It's a small building, but the decor is very nice. There is about 12 tables in the room, not including the bar seating. If you're going on a Friday or Saturday evening, a reservation would be recommended. Overall, the price was about $98 including tips and tax. Amazing!

The theme and decor is different and so cute, plus they played Western movies from back in the day. Our server was excellent and helped us with the menu choices as some were a bit of a different style Italian than the norm. The Burrata appetizer was amazing and very fresh. My husband had the cacciatore and loved it. I had the marinara and while it was good I didn't love it. It was a bit sweet for marinara and needed Locatelli cheese. Again, not bad just different for my taste. I do want to try other entrees the next time we are visiting the area because I'm sure they are great as well. I had their version of an espresso martini which was made with spiced rum. I was intrigued and my first sip was interesting. The second was good and the rest of the sips were delicious! We would definitely go back if we travel to the area again.
