Pasta Jays Well I would have like to have written a good review for this place considering the owner is amazing and runs several thriving businesses but tonight I just can't . We were seated at our table at 545 we had a party of 6 , the waiter told us our specials " with his mask around his chin and spraying his spit all over the water glasses " but anyway, We ordered a appetizer and a bottle of wine and enjoyed spinach artichoke dip for about 20 minutes. We then ordered our meals that arrived around 630. All of the entrees were good , but the chicken Cesar salad was awful , it was delivered about 10 minutes after everyone else's was served and the chicken was dry and hard. We asked to have it removed from our bill and immediately were given attitude by our server. He offered us a partial discount , but refused to take it off our bill . We then asked again to have it removed and a manager that was dressed in a sweater that showed more then a tube top came over and said " yea I guess we will take it off " . At 7:00 we still had two children finishing their meals and we were drinking our 45.00 bottle of wine, then waiter came by and said " you need to wrap up we have a line outside and need your table " mmmmm wow we had 195.00 bill and we're treated like shit for sending a 10.00 salad back and eating longer than 70 minutes. Stayed in town for a few days as I explored arches and the canyonlands. I ordered a salad, the shells as the entree and a side of meatballs. The break came with garlic bread also which was delicious. I destroyed that meal and I think impressed the waitress. I one hundred percent will come back if I'm ever back in town. read more

I spent about half the year in Moab and I finally got back into Pasta Jays after 20 years. Nothing against it, but with the same restaurant in Boulder, it's a repeat experience. It was just OK, the server was super proficient, but never really made eye contact and spoke super fast as they were clearly in a hurry to get an order and go. I love the atmosphere on the deck, but the food was just ok, and our table was so small we had to put drink and wine bottles on the ground. The funniest part of the night is that we ordered garlic bread and when it arrived, and the young women that delivered it just dropped it on the table and said "Here is your EXTRA garlic bread." She sounded pissed and we knew we had disrupted some kind of serving tradition. After our meals were half done, the staff tries to deliver 1, 2, 3 more garlic breads. Lesson learned, your not supposed to get the bread before your meal. Also they ask you to do an emenu, but then I saw a handful of paper menus delivered to the table next to us. If I knew I was going to be ordered from my phone, I might have just stayed home and used a full screen. Finally the people in front of us waited 30 minutes for a table, only to be told they couldn't bring in their dog that was clearly waiting with them. In my opinion, the staff should have said to her that the dog was not welcome prior to her waiting. It was obvious she was attached to the dog. read more

I really liked this place. After a long morning of hiking in Arches National Park, we were looking for a place to cool off and grab a bite to eat. Jay's is right on Main Street and is hard to miss if you're driving around. Parking along the road is plentiful and free. There's a number of other options in downtown Moab - but this seemed to be the best looking Italian place in town. The restaurant is on the larger side - there's both an indoor seating area - and an outdoor patio - though it was a bit to hot for us to eat outdoors while we were here. The menu is expansive and all-encompassing for what you would expect from an Italian restaurant. If you're there during lunch time, be sure to look over the lunch menu which has some fantastic pricing on meals that include a soft drink - the portions were huge and well worth the money. Service was attentive, an all around good experience. Will definitely back next time I'm in Moab. read more

The food here was incredible. I ordered the veggie cannelloni and my partner got the gnocchi catalini and both our dishes were out of this world. I would give it five stars for the food alone but it did take a pretty long time for us to get waited on. Once he arrived, our waiter Jack was wonderful. He was very kind and attentive. Pretty good for a chain restaurant in a tourist town, usually a bad combination. It's loud, it's on edge, it has energy and that's what an Italian restaurant should be and exactly what's missing with that boring Olive Garden. When they get slammed with walk-in's they slow down a bit and that is to be expected anyplace. Loosen up tightwad and have another glass of wine and relax or buy the bottle and share it with your neighbor tables. Service can be a roll of the dice. I'll post some pic's of our meal when my iPhone recharges. I ordered the Hagen with the Parmigiana the wife got the super thin pizza with sausage, Pepperoni and olive oil. Everything fresh cooked, nothing pre frozen and you can taste it's quality. If you like Italian and you're not a fussy diner this is the spot for you. Everything on the menu outstanding. Then the must realize that, and they try to balance it with an inordinate amount of cheese. So all in all, it ends up being just middle of the road. Haven't even had a bite yet. Giving two stars simply for the fact they have the gall to charge THREE DOLLARS for a kids glass of milk, on top of the $6 cost of the meal. Yes we verified with the server, thinking maybe the menu was just poorly edited. Unhealthy fountain soda would be included for free, but milk apparently costs more than OIL in Moab - despite the fact City Market up the street charges the same for a gallon of milk as any big grocer in Denver. This is our fourth trip to Moab and we were finally able to eat here as there is always a wait to get in for dinner, we chose to go later around 730 and didn't wait. We sat outside which was great, heaters were warm enough and didn't mind eating out there. Jesse was our waiter and was very friendly and attentive. Service was very good - friendly, professional and prompt. However, the pizza was a 2 on a scale of 1-10. Ordered extra toppings. What a waste of money! The pizza had a great thin crust. That is the best we can say about it. We kept looking for the ground beef - we counted exactly 3 small crumbs of it on each slice. And cheese? What cheese? I'm guessing they used less than a third of a cup of mozzarella because we had a hard time seeing and tasting it. Worst pizza ever in our lives. Ordered wine. Very limited selection of Cab. And the glass it came in was ridiculously small and they filled the glass to the very brim. We had to keep the glass on the table and drink some out before we were able to pick up the glass without fear of spilling. Not sure why some reviewers were raving about their pizza. Delicious! If you're looking for amazing Italian food look no further! Came here after hiking all day and over 10 miles at Arches. I couldn't decide which entree to get so I opted for The Hagan Option which lets you get 3 items! I choose the manicotti, beef shells and chicken parmigiana. It was so good I ate the whole thing. There was only a little sauce left in my plate because I didn't have anymore garlic bread to eat it with. And filling! It was filling! Before I left I got the turtle cheesecake to go. The fettuccine Alfredo was okay it was drenched in butter and needed some salt but other then that it was good. We were told we had to sit outside and it was all good until they turned off the heater and it was freezing. We asked if we could get it back on and they told us they never turned it off. After a day of driving, was looking for some place good to eat while on vacation. Something simple that I could just phone in and bring back to the VRBO. My teenager suggested pizza, and neither of us are fans of the two national pizza chains in town. Looked at their menu and was sold on the thin crust pizza. Opted for pepperoni, as that is my gauge as to how well an eatery knows their craft. Called the order in and was told 15 minutes. Great! I asked that it be ready in 30 minutes as I had a couple stops along the way. No problem! The pizza was outstanding! Both of our dining experiences there were identical: large portions of food, tasty dinners, and excellent, friendly, attentive, welcoming service. For the most part, as the restaurant's name suggests, this place specializes in pasta dishes (and pizza), with only a few non-Italian-type meal options available. Wasn't too into having pasta but I decided to try. I had the Wednesday special which was the chicken portabella which was divine. Surprisingly it had a spicy kick with a rich tomato cream sauce. Located in downtown Moab this place is a short drive to Arches National park. It was pretty packed on a weekday night so I decided that was a good sign. I tried the gnocchi and it was ok. I've definitely had better but it was not bad by any means. The service was very friendly. They refilled my lemonade about 6x which I appreciated. I think my gnocchi was about $10. The portions were very generous which I also appreciated. I'd go back if I was in Moab again. One thing I liked was the flat screen tv's everywhere.
