The best part of The Pasta Grill is the food. We got goat cheese croquettes, pasta Amelia and grilled chicken caprese sandwich. All the food was delicious. Our server Arieell was very busy but was friendly and did a good job. The prices were fair but no bread or salad with dinners is a bit of a bummer. I love the fact that you can use their website to get your name on the wait list. We got there a few minutes before our table was ready. This is a casual family-owned italian restaurant with a simple menu of pasta, pizza, & chicken dishes. There are a few seafood dishes as well. The inside is dated & could use a fresh-up. Our waitress Jolie was excellent. Started off with martini's (perfectly made) & the crab cake app which was great - nice & crispy on the outside. My entree came with a caesar salad that was very good. I had eggplant rollatini which came with 4 large rollatini's & a generous serving of capellini - had a ton to bring home. My friend got a pasta dish called Maria & really liked it. We LOVED the bread - nice crust & the dipping oil was amazing. If you are looking for high end dining - this is not it. It's a 5 stars neighborhood Italian place. IT HAS VEGAN OPTIONS!!!! The prices here are reasonable and much better than the other Italian place with vegan options on the area. I honestly like their food better than the other place too. I usually do takeout, which they never mess up, but when I do eat there their staff is well trained and doesn't make mistakes. This isn't an upscale restaurant- it's a your local place to go for amazing food - where everyone who works there knows you and is friendly. We love the pasta grill. It really feels like a family owned business with attention to details on the food and specials. Not every single meal has been a hit, but always hot and cooked well. It's definitely a place you can experiment and try new things and even if you don't love it, you'll like it. Service is always perfect and the bread is so fresh. For an inexpensive, authentic Italian joint, this place really hit the spot. I personally ordered the Bolognese which is usually a decent test of an Italian restaurant. It arrived after a bit of a wait and was a very decent, passable dish. This was one of the better Bolognese I have had in a while. The sauce was a no frills, on-point tomato and meat sauce. The Chicken Parmesan was a huge portion, which for the price we paid, was enough to two full meals no doubt. My biggest complaint with the food was that it was served at almost a volcanic temperature. And as many other reviewers pointed out, the oil and garlic dip to start the meal was stupendous. The Hostess was awesome! We came right in and she found a spot for us immediately. Service was decent. Our server was nice, but always seemed busy. I think we were the only table she had in our section because she was on the other side of the restaurant whenever she wasn't at our table. Our table was always cleared of dirty plates and we always had refills. The decor could use an update, there is a late 90 early 2000s vibe going inside of the restaurant. The inside is a bit cluttered with odds and ends, a random potted plant here, a bottle of vinegar from Marshals over there. The was place was clean and well kept so no complaints there. I ordered grilled chicken with broccoli raab & fresh mozzarella on sub bread which was not on the menu but they were happy to oblige and it was delicious. When you walk in you are greeted by a large bar- slightly off-putting, but it's in an entirely separate room, so that works well. The server was young, but friendly, attentive and knowledgable. All the dinners come with a choice if house or Caesar. The salad was fresh and crunchy. The server recommend calimari tossed with spicy red sauce, olives and peppers which was very different and delicious. For main course we had pork special and chicken parm (see pics) both solid. Horrible service! We came for the promotional free glass of wine (an $8.50 value) and the vegan menu, which we had to ask for. Guess we were profiled as not vegan. Then, we were given just one menu for two people, but this is not a big deal. Then, we asked the waitress what type of wine was covered by the free glass promotion. We were told it was the "house wine." So we agreed, "we'll have the house red." When the bill came we we were charged $19 for 2 glasses! "Opps" the waitress said, "you are entitled complimentary wine, but you ordered Cabernet, which is more." A) "Complimentary" means NO CHARGE. Did you think we wouldn't check the bill? We are not stupid! B) Your menu does not specify what type of wine is complimentary or the prices and, particularly, C) we ordered "HOUSE WINE!! - REMEMBER!! But let's get to the meal. We ordered two house salads with balsamic dressing, and two penne pasta dishes. After 40 minutes we asked again for the salad. The waitress replied, "salad is not included with your dinner." But we ordered two house salads separately, with balsamic dressing. REMEMBER?? Then, the waitress was going to bring a spoon for the pasta, which never came. One of the pasta dishes came with linguine ,which I hate, not the penne I ordered. I'm not even delve into the quality of the meal, which seemed thrown rapidly together with raw, uncooked chunks and was tasteless. Our first time here so we checked the reviews and decided to give it a try. We started with a couple of cocktails and an appetizer. Why do restaurants have bartenders that don't know how to pour a drink? The dirty martini I had was AWFUL. It was 50/50 vodka and olive juice so it tasted like sea water. YUCK! My spouse had a pear cosmo and it also was terrible. We each took a taste of each others drinks and we agreed that both drinks were NASTY. Do bartenders or owners ever taste the drinks they are serving customers. We'll NEVER order cocktails here again. So much for the drinks. After reading the reviews here, we knew to stick to the Pizza. I'd have to say we enjoyed the pizza. We got the chicken parm pie and it was fresh, hot, and perfectly seasoned and cooked. The crust was perfect. We really enjoyed it. All in all we enjoyed ourselves as the service was friendly and efficient but since our bill high due to the drinks that were terrible I am going to give it two stars. I return because friends keep insisting it is a fine place to dine and I respect their opinions however I can only provide a "lukewarm" endorsement. I will say on my most recent visit the wait staff was markedly better than in previous visits but still on the slow side. My main concern was/is with the presentation of the entree...my pasta was, like my review, "lukewarm". My concern was shared by my son who also ordered pasta. The staff is both friendly and attentive. We ordered different things so there was a variety on the table. My son said his lasagna was great , and my DIL truly enjoyed her ziti.
