Absolutely incredible. I seriously cannot overstate how amazing this food was. I've had a lot of pasta in a lot of places, and this is hands down the best I've ever had. And it's not even close. Italian is probably my favorite type of food, and I could go on and on about how good this was. Pasta Evangelists was a completely unexpected find, and it turned out to be one of the best (food-wise) meals I've ever had. When my wife wanted the Spaghetti with Cherry Tomato sauce, I thought she was joking. Plain old spaghetti ?! But it was her choice (we were sharing dishes), so we picked out two others that also sounded good (too much food, but there were so many delectable options, we couldn't resist). She added the burrata cheese to the spaghetti, and that was an absolute game-changer. The service at Pasta Evangelists was fast and excellent. The presentation was beautiful and sometimes quite unique (Rigatoni with Truffle Cacio E Pepe... served in a cheese wheel). Now, while the cafe area was beautiful, it was kind of like fancy cafeteria seating (we had other guests next to us on both sides). That being said, my wife and I had no trouble hearing each other, it just wasn't as intimate as a more traditional sit-down restaurant. When you visit London, you really gotta check out Harrod's. And when you're there PLEASE stop in the restaurant. Based on our enthusiastic recommendation, the couple next to us also ordered the Spaghetti with burrata. And (no surprise), they loved it too. If the other restaurants in Harrod's are even half as good as Pasta Evangelists, you won't be disappointed. Though obviously, I have to recommend Pasta Evangelists. I've enjoyed every place I've eaten at in two trips to London, but anytime I visit London in the future, this is the one place I will absolutely, without question, eat at again.

This is an amazing pasta bar inside the seated dining food hall at Harrods. We were looking for authentic pasta and this place really hit the spot. Service was fast and attentive. We were seated right away at the half circle pasta bar where you can watch all the chef action. The chefs are friendly and enjoy their work. Really liked the brand new crisp heavy weight paper menu showing the offerings with pictures. We tried the spaghetti dattirino tomato sauce with prawn add on, papadelle with beef ragu, and prosciutto pizza. Pasta is fresh and cooked perfectly al dente. The tomato pasta sauce is perfectly balanced. Also observed them making the lobster pica pasta looks like a must try. Paparadelle was nicely done with the beef ragu with tender brisket like meat. Prosciutto pizza was probably the easiest item put together but the pizza dough (premade from package) was perfectly crisped with the prosciutto and buffalo cheese topping. Strawberries lemonade really refreshing. Overall fantastic pasta bar at Harrods who always does it right.

We got a table in front of the kitchen. We love watching our food get made. The food is delicious. We all enjoyed every bite.

Everytime i go to harrods the pasta bar is always full so i decided to reserve it and try it since i expected it to be good. I tried it and it was okay for the price so not really worth the price. Feels bad for the chef working alone making the pasta and no one there to help him. Was nice could see how he could cook. If someone complains he doesnt wash his hands im gonna smack them. Now you know most chefs dont wash their hands thats what make it good. Nevetheless, it was okay and i wouldnt bother to go back again since it is not for me. Cheers!

Bancone - Silk handkerchief pasta - totally lives up to the hype!

I've visited several locations around London, and every single one delivers the same consistent quality and flavor. The menu is small but perfectly curated, aseverything is made fresh daily. I tried the Cacio e Pepe and Carbonara, and both were cooked perfectly al dente bliss. Plates arrived quickly, and every bite was delicious. The wine list is extensive, with options by the glass or bottle, making it easy to pair with your pasta. Service is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The vibe is casual, trendy, and fun, with great music to set the mood. Reservations are highly recommended, as their seats fill up fast. P.S. I've heard they don't do to-go boxes, but honestly... who's leaving a bite behind anyway?

Great food and a fun lively atmosphere here but an absolute travesty for not allowing you to take…read moreaway your leftovers. We came here to celebrate our daughter's graduation with her picking Bancone for it's excellent food and being well recommended online. Everything was great with our meal as we tried the "silk handkerchief" pasta dishes, Cacio e Pepe, and a couple of other dishes along with a couple of drinks and appetizers (focaccia and the fried artichoke). Our waitress (Bernisha) was super cool and helpful as was an additional staff member who brought our food to the table and grated cheese for our dishes. The big rub comes from their absolutely ridiculous restaurant policy of not allowing you to take away your leftovers. My wife has a small appetite and we ALWAYS have to take her leftovers to go. Sometimes I eat them the next day and sometimes she does. I mean why waste some great food? When we asked for a few take away containers for my wife's, daughter's and daughter's boyfriend's leftovers we were told they don't allow that. W. T. F. ???? I thought they were joking at first. Then the man who brought our food out and grated our cheese earlier came over to our table and explained that the restaurant policy is not to allow guests to take their leftovers home. When asked why, he proceeded to give an explanation that if customers took their leftovers home, the restaurant would lose the quality control and presentation of the food. For example, we could get sick by not reheating the leftovers properly or we could leave them out of their restaurant-controlled environment (e.g. in a hot car) and the food could go bad. He actually said they could be sued for someone getting sick due to this example. I informed him that I have eaten out a lot in my 60 plus years and in many different countries in all types of restaurants and have NEVER EVER heard of a restaurant not allowing their customers to take home their leftovers from meals THAT WE PAID FOR! I asked him what other restaurants around there do this. He actually said "a lot of them do". Wrong answer. No one else does. The only time I can remember a place not allowing take away food was all you can eat buffets for obvious reasons. A quick online query of this ludicrous policy states the following: "In London, refusing takeaway containers for restaurant leftovers is uncommon, particularly in casual, mid-range, or chain spots where doggy bags are widely offered and accepted as standard practice. High-end fine dining spots (e.g., Michelin-starred) are more likely to decline, citing food safety rules or presentation standards, though even there it's fading due to anti-waste campaigns". Bancone in Borough Yards is not a Michelin-starred restaurant. It is a popular casual pasta bar known for fresh pasta sheets and Italian dishes.....but without any Michelin recognition. I would go here again for the food but make sure I don't get full too easily or watch my purchased leftovers go to waste. Oh, another tip for Bancone: Tell your staff not to argue with paying customers.

The family who owns this restaurant are adorable! We ate here twice in our 10 day stay and had different dishes each time. The fettuccine alfredo is wonderful. The arribiatta sauce is especially (and appropriately) spicy. I even asked if they could "make" me a cesar salad, and they did their best to come up with something spectacular! The restaurant is in close walking distance to The British Museum and between the Russell Square and Holborn tube stations. It's always nice to go to a restaurant where the owner fusses about the tables ensuring that everyone is enjoying the food. Also, there is a piano player who is outstanding and she played classics to Disney to show tunes. It was wonderful!!

We were reading the menu posted outside the door when we were greeted by one of the employees (I think he was "family") and then we were also greeted by an older gentleman who appeared to be the owner. We decided to give it a try. The lady waiting on us was very nice (also appeared to be family) and service was excellent. BTW - they have live music with a piano player. My wife had the spaghetti with bolanagese sauce and it was truly exceptional. I had the lasagna (my "go to" Italian dish) and it was also delicious. Great little restaurant. Cozy interior, live music, great food and great friendly service.
