    Burrata Ravioli
    Kate S.

Homemade pasta for these prices in London can't be beat! The garlic sausage pasta was extremely well balanced and the fennel didn't overpower the dish at all. I wish the portion was a bit larger though. Same thing for the ravioli. Two pretty sizeable pieces but only two... Anyway, the burrata was super creamy and the pasta dough had an even thickness throughout. The restaurant was super busy for lunch when we went and we were seated in the back corner which was kinda dark. The service was super speedy but it took a while to get the bill. Pretty solid spot in London.

Such an aesthetic restaurant! It kind of reminds me of an upscale retro diner. As for the food, we ordered: Tagliolini al tartufo - this dish is a must get! Especially if you are a big truffle fan. It comes through so strong, and the pasta is perfectly creamy and cheesy. Pappardelle con ragu di salsiccia di agnello - this dish was okay. The pasta itself was really good and was nice and bouncy. But the taste was very plain. You can taste each individual ingredient but that's it. It doesn't really taste seasoned and the ingredients don't really come together to form something bigger and better. Pici alla norcina - I was excited about this one because I saw that this is a dish a lot of people tend to order. But I ended up being the most disappointed. It really is just pasta with meat. It wasn't bad but it tasted like something I would make if it was late and I didn't have time to cook. The table next to us also ordered the dish, and the guy that ordered it ended up not eating his pasta. (he was super nice about it to the servers, but yeah he was not a fan of it either). Overall, if you're someone that cares more about the quality of the pasta, and you don't want the toppings to distract from the pasta, you'll love this place. If you're looking for more flavorful and decadent dishes, definitely order the truffle pasta!

Came in on a Thursday night and the place was really busy. We had a reservation, but it took a while for anyone to greet us at the host stand and get us seated. Once we were seated, we order a round of drinks and put our food in right away. The drinks were ok, not my favorite but very strong. The food was EXCELLENT. Burrata and pasta tasted so fresh and had so much flavor. I will definitely be back next trip!

Was looking for a decent pasta place to go to on a recent trip to London and came across Lina stores. Reservations were easy to make compared to some other spots and the prices looked decent. So happy I chose Lina Stores because the pasta was great. Between two people, we ordered three plates. For 7 pounds, the lemon pasta was totally worth getting on top of one of the others. The portions were so good for the price. The only thing I took off a star for was when we ordered the prosciutto starter, it was a plate of just prosciutto. We ordered some bread to go with it but that was an up charge and pretty pricey as well for only like three pieces. Happy the pasta made up for it!

We had the signature 30-Egg Yolk Tagliolini with Black Truffle and plenty of Parmigiano Reggiano. The dish was very creamy, buttery, and rich with lashings of black truffle without being overwhelming. Definitely one of the best truffle dishes I had and for a very reasonable price too (11 pounds). The service was also fantastic, and the ambiance/atmosphere in this restaurant is amazing.

Would rate this 4.5 stars if I could! Lina Stores is a tiny restaurant in the basement of a storefront you can easily miss when you walk by. This is a good thing because we were able to get in! They will take reservations for earlier time slots, and so we got in without a wait. There are maybe a total of 8 or 10 small tables, and there's a maximum amount of time you can sit to allow time for others to get in. We got there at about 5:15pm, and after we were seated, a line had already started forming. The restaurant does the courses Italian tapas style -- the servings are small, so you'll want to order a few to share. I had the melanzane polpette -- "meatballs" that are meatless, made out of eggplant, and delicious. The pastas we had were the Tagliatelle all'Ortica, Burro a Mano e Parmigiana; light and fabulous. But what blew me out of the water was the Pansoti con Burrata, Salsa di Datterini, Pinoli e Basilico. This was, hands down, the best tomato sauce I've had in my entire life -- and I'm Italian, who has had or made tomato sauces for decades. This is better than my sauce -- it's better than my mother's or my grandmother's (sorry, everyone!). Cannot recommend it highlight enough. Alongside the pastas I had a glass of the Barbera wine -- very light, perfect for an early evening meal. The servers and others who worked there were all super nice -- asked them for some recommendations, and would suggest you do the same. They gave us great guidance.

Four stars for the pea and mint ravioli. I mean, it's utterly, totally amazing. Perfectly al dente pasta, buttery and savoury pea filling. Even my husband, who's not a vegetarian, admitted it was fantastic. The portion size is decent for the prize. I also had the lemon pasta and whilst it's perfectly al dente and both lemon-scented and tasting, with heaps of cheese... but it's not the ravioli. My husband's ragu though was disappointing to him... even I was surprised at the lack of flavour compared to the other dishes. Great limoncello spritzer and overly sweet cherry Bellini. Great service and lovely pistachio-coloured interior.

***3.5 Stars*** Don't get me wrong, this is one of the better pasta places in London, but their food needs SALT. I love the Lina Stores shop for lunch and didn't know they had a restaurant until I went for a mate's birthday. I think the tripadvisor reviews on this place more accurately depict this place as many users on there commented about the lack of salt and flavor on the dishes, which is so true. The ambiance and environment of the place is super cute and charming. They have an open bar seating in the upstairs and a comfortable and more intimate seating area downstairs. The staff is also super pro active and nice and they have a very comprehensive menu. Some dishes were actually really amazing, but here's a short review for each with wider emphasis on the dishes that lacked salt or flavor: +Pici alla Norcina (£7) - Pici is a flat spaghetti, but I would call this more of a bucatini. The flavor was just alright and this NEEDED salt. +Gnudi con Burro e Salvia (£8.5) - THIS IS A MUST GET and it looks great for pictures. Its a green ricota cheese filled dumpling and great for vegetarians. +Papardelle con Rague di Vitello Rosmarino e Salvia (10) - The award for the least flavorful and salted dish goes to this Papardelle. You'd think that a dish with a ragu would be extremely flavorful. Negative. The sauce was kind of watery and I had to salt almost every noodle. +Agnolotti Verdi con Ricotta e Tartufo (£14) - Agnolotti with black truffle. This was so decadent and flavorful. Probably the highlight of my night and would definitely go back again just for this dish. Overall, the noodles were home made and the consistency was right. Although the salt level on some of the dishes wasn't the best, I had a great time and would come back again!

I just love this place! Upon arriving, I was surprised to be led downstairs. They have some bar seating upstairs and also a restaurant with tables downstairs. Downstairs the seating is very cozy and cutely decorated. Food was A+ as was service. We would definitely come here again and try other menu items. Spaghetti alla Chitarra con Granchio, Peperoncino e Limone 9.5 Spaghetti, Dorset Crab, Chilli & Lemon Pappardelle con Ragù di Vitello, Rosmarino e Salvia 10 Pappardelle, Slow Cooked Veal Ragu, Rosemary & Sage Pane e Olio 3 Ciabatta & Alma Mater Bio Extra Virgin Olive Oil

I went to Lina stores in Soho two days ago and it's one of the most affordable fancy dinner spots in the area. The aesthetic is quaint with great lighting and a downstairs bar area. Ricardo's service was quick and helpful, as he pointed us to the three best pastas. We ordered the duck ragu pappardelle, tagliolini with truffle, and pici with Umbrian sausage. They were all filling, the pappardelle was sweet and tender while the Tagliolini was creamy and perfectly Al dente; definitely order this one. The pici was a bit salty so I would recommend going for the pumpkin ravioli instead. The gelato was also creamy and would recommend the pistachio and lemon. Each pasta was between £8-14 and the gelato was 2 scoops for £4--a steal! Would definitely go back.

This place has been on my radar for so long after discovering the delicatessen around the corner. Before I even get to the food, I have to give kudos on the decor and style of the place! I am in love with the counter concept when you first enter the restaurant, it has such a fun casual vibe. The colour scheme of the green and the crockery they have is to die for! My friend and I had a restaurant fall through at the last minute nearby and decided to check out Lina Stores instead. We put our name down and I think we had about a 45 minute wait where we went for a cocktail elsewhere and then came back. I was so pleased we managed to be fitted in without a reservation as there was a queue at the door. We were seated downstairs, it is quite a squeeze, which isn't ideal when you have on a winter coat, but they do have coat hooks at the top of the stairs. The food is intended to be served more family style, where everyone shares each dish. This is handy as there is so many amazing sounding dishes, you can taste more! My friend and I shared bread and the slow roasted pork belly sandwich to start. The pork belly sandwich was so good, so tasty, flavoursome and the crackling was perfect. For our main pasta dishes we tried; pumpkin ravioli (the largest pieces of ravioli I have ever seen!!), the mushroom and sausage pasta & the 30 egg tagliolini. All I can say is wow! I could have eaten it all over again just after I had finished, it tasted so good!! The flavours were incredible, my favourite was the tagliolini, which was our wild card dish, as we each chose a dish and then needed another to fill, so asked the server for a recommendation. The truffle, the egg, the flavour was just incredible. I honestly didn't think pasta could taste so good! I would typically never order pasta as always saw it as the boring option, but it just shows you, when it's done right! I can't wait to return and take my friends who will visit from out of London. We didn't chose a dessert after we had filled up on so much food, but I would really like to try the cannoli when I revisit. The table next to us ordered it and it looks delightful! The service was excellent, staff were consistently removing plates as different dishes were finished and there were so many people on hand, especially for such a small place, it is really impressive. I can't recommend this place enough and I understand they have opened a new location in Kings Cross as well, that I must try as well.

AMAZING!! Really cute Italian restaurant that's related to Lina Stores. They have a few seats outside, a few more at the bar, and I think more downstairs. Because it's small, there was a bit of a wait even for two people at 830p on a weeknight. If you are put on the wait list make sure you are on top of it as the waitstaff is a little disorganized. After getting a 10 minute warning text after waiting 40 min for a party of two, we hovered for another 20 minutes before asking the host for a time estimate, just to see that there were more than enough open seats and we were seated right away. However, that was the only minor negative of the night. If you sit at the bar, you will be lucky enough to see them prepare the food right in front of your eyes while you wait. This was perfect for us as we just pointed to the dishes we thought looked good and asked for them. While they recommend getting antipasti, I didn't think they were anything special and recommend going straight for the homemade pasta. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them as they are also extremely fresh. For dessert, you would be remiss if you missed out on their chocolate cake. Touted as the best chocolate cake in the world by one of the cooks, it did not disappoint. A rich chocolate-y flavor, light and fluffy texture, and airy whipped cream. Heaven on a plate.

We stumbled upon this place accidentally as it was across the street from our apartment rental. I love pasta as well as the idea of sharing small plates so i can try more options. We tried 4 different pasta options and the best one was the truffle pasta. 4 plates was perfect for the two of us. I also love that they make the food in an open kitchen and you can sit at the bar watching. It would be helpful to book ahead but they will also take your name and text you when your table is ready if you want to go somewhere else to wait. I hope to go back to London to try more menu options!

The upstairs is a corner view onto a street with dark woods and leather booths, while inside an open kitchen and a low-key young crew is putting out some simple, tasty food. Mostly appetizers, pastas and some pesce and carne dishes. Not a destination, but a good spot and one of the few restaurants on the street open on a Sunday. The downstairs basement hosts a cocktail bar that was closed on the Sunday we visited. We enjoyed the feel of the place, along with a bit of montepulciano d'abruzzo, some olives, a green salad, pork belly and a toothsome risotto with zucchini and prawns. Not a bad meal, priced pretty well, and a nice setting with friendly staff. We had such a good time that we failed to notice the police inspectress inside talking to the Paesan crew. The white and red police tape line both inside and outside the restaurant were in our peripheral view the whole dinner, but once outside, we noticed that a gigantic police triangle of tape took up the entire street corner, a female inspector was stationed there, and that down on the cobblestone sidewalk, a streetful of dessicated lemon and lime wedges lay from the night before, leading us to ponder, what exactly had happened here?

The waitress was helpful and calm and the red wine warm and fruity. I'll come again for definites. We were calm and respectful throughout the interaction, but he refused to even listen to our side before abruptly ending the conversation with, "I'll get your bill," and telling us to leave. I honestly don't know whether he was irritated because we had an infant with us or because we requested a modification, but the behaviour was completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I still can't believe a restaurant in London could treat customers this way. Truly unbelievable service and an experience I would never want anyone else to go through. We initially ordered 3 items. The pizza was absolutely fine, so we never raised any concern about it. However, the pasta simply didn't suit our taste buds, so we politely requested a few alterations. Instead of handling it professionally, you refused to serve the tiramisu as well -- assuming we'd dislike that too and ask for modifications? Honestly, I wish I had taken a picture of the pasta to show how it looked. As a restaurant owner, you should understand that every customer has different taste preferences. And just for clarification -- we never asked for the pasta to be cancelled. In fact, we were even willing to pack it and take it home after paying for it, despite not liking the taste. You were the one who offered to cancel the remaining order, and we simply agreed. I would humbly request whoever is in charge to please check the CCTV footage and see whether we were ever rude while requesting alterations. Although my boss and I were the only ones here, the staff paid little to no attention to us - no greeting or any mind paid to us until we physically walked over the bar, distracting the group chatting away in their huddle. The wine was on the pricier side. The second time I came, the place was brimming with city brokers having Thirsty Thursday. The prosecco was decent and we had a nice time. We said we were not going to pay for that just because when asked what kind, we had probably said "whatever" or "doesn't matter". Doesn't that usually mean house stuff? The third time I had post-birthday party brunch here where I opted for the Italian breakfast which means eggs, soppresetta, sour dough with pate?, tomato, and tuscan sausage. My tastebuds were (to be fair) taking a beating due to the hangover but it was just mediocre at best. Plus the stuff on the sour dough was strange and unpleasant.
