I recently went back to this salon because my usual nail salon was fully booked, and this visit reminded me exactly why I stopped coming here. I am newer to the area, and the only reason I had been coming here for a few months was because it is right across the street from where I live. Honestly, the work was never the best. I would usually rate the nails around two stars because they did the job at the time, but they were never good quality. At other salons, my nails last until my next appointment, even when they are grown out. Here, the nails chip, the polish chips, and the nails pop off. I kept giving them chances because the location was convenient, but I have had enough. This last visit was the worst. When I walked in, I clearly asked for acrylic on my toes. I also needed a fake toenail placed on my big toe, so placement mattered. Once I sat down, the nail tech started using builder gel/non-chip gel instead of acrylic. When I told her I did not want that and wanted acrylic, she argued with me for several minutes, trying to convince me it was the same or better. If I am paying for a service and I ask for acrylic, there should not be an argument. Someone else eventually came over to do the acrylic, but the fake toenail on my big toe was placed extremely crooked. When I pointed it out, I was told my toe was crooked, even though the nail itself was clearly the problem. After going back and forth, she finally admitted I was right, removed it, and redid it, but it still came out crooked. At one point, I literally had to help position the nail myself. The final French pedicure was horrible. The lines are crooked, the polish is uneven, and one of my toes next to my big toe is visibly painted crooked and leaning to the side. This is honestly the worst French pedicure I have ever received. If a technician does not know how to do acrylic, they should not be assigned to a customer who specifically asked for acrylic. I left upset and disappointed, and I will not be returning. In the reason why I didn't want them fixed is because I was already sitting there forever, and I was over it. I came in with my natural long nails and had asked for a no chip manicure. I told the nail tech I wanted it to be shaped down a little bit but still keep some of the length and make it round. The nail tech proceeds to shape it square and VERY short. I had to explain to her several times can I get it round. By the time someone came around to check if everything was alright it was too short. I was so upset that I just got up and left because this girl didn't know what she was doing. I got these done a week ago and they have already fallen off and chipped. During my appointment my nail tech did not understand what I was wanting and it just made me feel terrible when I kept repeating. They felt very thin and not neat. My nails look pretty, but I definitely will be returning to my previous salon for all future services. Did they do a decent job w my regular mani/pedi yes. However, there are those intangibles first the place is huge and all the service was squeezed into the front of salon. The place was dirty. There was a visible layer of dirt on several surfaces. Not where clients interacted but just there. It was messy. The fabric of the chairs was torn. And then when the pit me under a dryer for my nails it was broken but somehow throughout the day no one had known. And it was facing a utility closet full of cleaning supplies. Was skeptical to go here at first because of the reviews, but i'm a loyola student and it's close so i thought i would give it a try. i had an appointment at 10am when they open and got there early and she started right away. i picked out a gel color by accident because it was in the dip powder bin, so she did white dip and did my sparkly white color on top (she didn't charge me extra for it). the whole process only took about an hour, which for dip back home takes 1 1/2-2 hours so that was great. overall a great experience and i'll definitely be back. i paid $45 for the dip and $5 for gel polish takeoff read more

I've went to this place a few times and the first 3 times it was good but it went down hill after. It's convenient spot because it's close to me but the work is ok. I think they have maybe a few people who know what they're doing there but everyone else is not great. One time I went there this lady was so rough on my nails and wondered why I was so tense. Literally the most painful experience for a manicure I've ever had. I went back another time to get a pedicure and the lady was so nice but she cut me below my nails on my skin, plus I now how toe fungus on my toe nails because of this place. I walked in, the place was completely empty except for one girl. She kept rushing me asking what I want so the vibes were already horrible from this girl. Then, she ignorantly assumes that I will not be able to pay for a gel pedicure which also leads to the whole staff talking about me in different languages all essentially asking if I could even afford it. On top of that, the nail tech who did my pedicure did not help me get into the chair or anything at all, did not explain anything. The water was freezing cold and she didn't bother to ask if it was fine. She kept pulling me literally by my feet, not explaining anything she's putting on my legs or toes. I went in as a gel nail rookie. The lady who did my pedicure was fantastic and I have no complaints. However, I did not love my manicure experience. I get that it was busy but the lady who did it acted like I was an inconvenience and she rushed through my manicure. When she was trimming the sides of my nails she went hard enough to cause pain twice and she didn't end up trimming my nails to be the same length. As she was finishing up, I noticed that my nails were patchy and lumpy. Being a gel newbie, I didn't know if this was normal or if she was going to fix it somehow. So, I just asked her if they were supposed to be that way at this point. Her response was blunt - "I did three coats." I wasn't sure what to do at the time seeing as it was incredibly busy in the salon but now that I'm home and am looking at my nails up close they are clumsy at best. They are bubbly and the patches are even worse in daylight. I won't be going back, especially when this whole experience cost me about $60. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Let's start off with the fact that he sat me down and immediately told me that they design that I wanted was ugly and that he would not be doing it. Fine whatever, these were Halloween nails anyways I wasn't expecting so much. Halfway through him doing my nails I decided to comment on the fact that the shaping was a little off. He rolled his eyes and told me not to complain until he was done. After that I got extremely uncomfortable and he kept telling me that the matte nail that I was doing was ugly. Since I was so extremely uncomfortable I caved in and decided not to get the matte because he kept talking shit about it. Halfway through painting my nails he said that he was tired of doing my nails and rolled his eyes, got up, and decided to smoke a cigarette outside. In the middle of my nails. This place is nasty. The tables are dirty with dust, dirty, oil and glitter. They don't bother to make you feel comfortable either. The cushion that you place your arm on had oils and cut off nails from the previous client and I was directed to air there without anybody bothering to clean up. I was told to sit in a chair that had a sewing needle with a thread placed right in the chair. Could have been a dangerous situation. I pointed it out to the man who did my nails and he didn't even care that this salon almost had me stick myself because they don't take proper precaution and clean up. When I arrived, I was surprised that they barely had any shades from opi, it was all Essie and they looked super old too! When I sat down to get a pedicure, the water was way too hot, but the tech cooled it down for me when I told her I was uncomfortable. She then started with my pedicure and kept accidentally scraping the backs of my legs with the pomus stone and she cut my toes twice when clipping my toenails. She also filed my toenail beds Instead of bugging them, so now they're super damaged. They then told me they were overbooked so I'd have to work with a different nail tech for my manicure. He gave me the worst manicure of my life. Cut me and didn't say anything about it to me just cussed under his breath. Then he started painting my nails. He gave one hand three coats of polish and the other two so they don't look the same. They are lumpy, have wrinkles and bubbles, and the ends of my nails feel super jagged. Came in for an acrylic refill and after my gels were ready and "dry", as I was getting my card out to pay the gel immediately moved and was rubbing off. I asked the nail technician if she could repaint and if I could leave them dry for longer and once I stayed and put my nails under the light for several sessions they were finally dry. The NEXT day as I was eating food they rubbed off and already chipped. I've only been here once but I may end up coming here again because it's pretty affordable. $30 for gel (no-chip) nails, but because I'm a student at Loyola, there's 10% off, making it $27! I walked in on a Friday evening and I only had to wait 20 minutes. Service was pretty friendly - was given a cold bottle of water while I waited. I wished they had given me polish palettes to look at during my wait so I could choose during that waiting time... I take forever to choose a color and I usually end up torn between 2 which is exactly what happened here. I asked my manicurist if I can try the two colors on my fingers and choose from there. He said no he can't do that because it's gel nails and it would be hard to remove. I call BS on that because I do this all the time at any other nail salon and they were always able to accommodate me and it is EASILY removable... I was a bit disappointed by this and also at the fact that my manicurist didn't check in with me to see how I was enjoying my experience. Typically, I get asked if the shape of my nails are good, if I like the color, etc. but it was just a straight shot from start to finish. I don't feel that it was very much of a fancy experience - didn't really get a massage on my hands which is something I usually look forward to because I like being pampered :( lol I think the final product was not bad. Thank heavens I only came in here for a polish change. My nails came out fine, however while I was waiting for them to dry I got to watch the same lady who polished my nails do the girl who was next to me's gel refill. While using the drill to file off her old gel, she accidentally shredded up the girl's cuticle on her index finger and thumb! They were both bleeding a lot and I could tell the girl was in pain. The nail tech was really sorry about it and using a paper towel to put pressure on the bleeding, but still.... After seeing that, I'd think twice before coming here for anything but a simple polish change. read more

My nail tech asked me how long I wanted my acrylics and before I could even respond she cut them to my natural nail length and when I told her i wanted them longer she started ripping the nail extension off my nail to the point where I was bleeding. Also used a dirty nail file, a dirty nail buffer, and the acetone she used (i can't make this up) was in an old tylenol bottle. They made me pay with venmo instead of my card.
