We love this place. Food is always fresh and delicious. We have been going since 2019.

HHR rolls

Surprisingly quiet for Fri HHR - which we prefer! HHR menu with discounted rolls (not sashimi), some Asian apps and drinks, 4:30-6:30. We ordered basically everything on the HHR menu - all delish - everyone happy. Service & presentation was wonderful. Parking is around the corner in garages - free for 4hrs.

I wanted some Hibachi and decided that I would let Yelp be my guide. This place came up as a suggestion. I've had my fair share of hibachi but this place left me with many questions then answers. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi lunch and a sushi roll. The hibachi lunch was served with miso soup. The soup was nice and hot. The steak and shrimp although was flavorful was a small portion. If you wanted fried rice you had to pay $2 extra. I ordered the honey Boston roll. The roll had shrimp, cucumber, avacado and asparagus with honey wasabi sauce. I didn't taste much of the honey wasabi sauce. Usually I have a ton of food left over when I eat from a hibachi restaurant. Today was definitely not the case.

We went here during happy hour on a Tuesday or Wednesday. It wasn't busy at all. Our server was attentive and ensured our order was correct and we had everything we needed! The food was good! Definitely recommend for a sushi happy hour. We got miso soup, house salad, spring rolls and a few sushi rolls. The spring rolls were so hot, fresh and crisp. The rolls were yummy and filling. We will come here again for a good happy hour!

This is my go to place for reliable take out sushi, especially for lunch. I almost always get their lunch three roll special or their spicy roll special. Their sushi is t mind blowing but it is a good value and hits the spot when you have a sushi craving. I was originally irked by an experience I had there but decided to give it another go and glad I did. There is one female hostess who is very unfriendly but the male hosts have all been friendly and polite. I've been coming here for many years, and remember trying their Asian dishes outside of sushi and it was always hit or miss. Will likely just stick to sushi.

Roti Canai - best thing I ate. They can make this without the chicken.

This is a great place if you are craving some sushi and Hibachi. It's located in Merrifield area, but in the not crowded area. The service was great. The ambitious is nice. And we had a great time. There are tons of veggie options available. But I tried the following: - Roti Canai (without chicken): order this without thinking. Yes, it's that good. I was licking the curry off the bowl. They can make this vegetarian as well. - Vegetable Roll: this was delicious. We ordered two of these rolls. - Drunken Noodles: this was mediocre. Wasn't a fan of this. It was bland. And too sweet. Drunken noodles should have a bit of a kick. Overall, amazing place to dine. There is something for everyone. Go ahead and try it out.

Just had an amazing lunch at Passion Fin Sushi Bistro! The sushi was fresh and delicious. Great service too! Highly recommend

Passion fin: just okay

It was a bit unsettling to see them with 0 guests when we arrived at 7pm for dinner. I wondered if they were closed or not having any dining service. Turns out, there simply was no one there but open. 1. Reservation: unnecessary as can be read from previous sentence 2. Service: 3 stars, 2 different servers coming and one was rude and the other very pleasant 3. Food: certain rolls were much better than others. Midori roll was my favorite Rest were simply okay 4. Hot tea and drinks available All in all, a decent place. I would still come here

Passion fin: Orange Peel Chicken

This is a great place to eat some Asian food. Food - Great, the orange chicken was delicious, it comes with rice and miso soup or salad. I liked the miso soup. The gyoza is good, but the cocktail was not that special. Service - Good Parking - There is a parking lot nearby Overall, this place is great.

Picked a great day to visit this location. The interior is quite spacious but chose to sit outside. Generous outdoor seating also. Note, if you are north of 5'9 under table leg room is dicey. Ordered tea with honey, the fact they had honey was a plus. Sushi!! As you can see from the pictures. The sushi was amazing. Knocked it out of the park with my selection. Yes I did play it safe with the Philly roll, but I usually do as a sushi safety net, just in case. Service was great, my waitress always ensured I had a full cup of tea. If nothing else try the White fish hand roll and Lobster Fantasy roll, I added real crab, it was so good.

Hiiiiii, WE ATE…read moreLUNCH HERE AT AROUND 2:30pm yesterday! Had a Groupon coupon. We will definitely go back. Fresh food, good service, nice ambiance. We enjoyed every last detail of the place. The ambiance was colorful with beautiful murals with a casual feel. Our server was friendly and did a great job when he was present. However, there were several times when we needed basic items and had difficulty locating him, which affected the overall flow of the meal. Unfortunately, the experience was further overshadowed by repeated interactions with Peter, the manager. His abrupt manner made me feel as though I was a nuisance simply for making reasonable requests needed to enjoy our meal. The most concerning moment occurred when a woman at our table appeared to be choking or having difficulty and urgently needed a glass of water. We asked for a glass so she could take a sip, but the response was incredibly slow given the circumstances. Thankfully, there was a neighboring table with empty glasses, which allowed us to get her water ourselves. I understand that restaurants can be busy, but guests should never leave feeling like they were a burden for asking for basic needs to be met. This was a meal I had been looking forward to sharing with a friend I hadn't seen in months, and unfortunately the experience put a damper on what should have been a special evening. While the food was excellent, the service experience left me questioning whether I would return.

Unassuming spot in a strip mall - convenient parking is a plus…read more The service was very attentive and the food delicious. I started with the peking duck roll - peking duck strips, scallions, cucumber, plum sauce (hold the mustard). This was a delicious combo, but by the 2nd half the wrapper was a bit greasy so I just ate the filling. Thai iced tea was refreshing, and I note that they serve plum wine which I love - next time! For my entire I had the spicy basil fried rice with seafood, no mushrooms, mild. The combo was fabulous with lots of seafood (shrimp, squid, mussels, etc.) and very flavorful. The presentation was great as well. They had several other items that sounded yummy and lots of folks eating sushi that looked fresh and delicious. Looking forward to another trip.

The owners/managers were very helpful and friendly. I opted for the Steak teriyaki bento box with came with steak (medium rare) teriyaki, rice, 3 tempura shrimp, 2 tempura veg, 3 cali rolls, 3 gyozas, miso soup & salad for about $22.00. The miso soup was good but the salad was avg. The dressing got really watery. The gyozas & Cali rolls were fair but generous servings of tempura were outstanding! Crisp & hot. Even after 10 mins. Not oily or greasy. The rice was cooked properly. The only misstep was the steak. The steak was also cooked properly at medium rare & looked beautiful. The inside was nice and pink. But upon chewing, the steak was not tender at all. Very very chewy. When you were young, you were taught fo chew at least 30 times. Well, this exceeded the recommended amount of chewing. The steak has a nice beefy flavor but just tough. SHAME. Overall, Sweet Ginger is a very popular and nice place to have Japanese food. The sushi plates (not pictured) were colorful and beautiful. My cousins finished the plates so thats a good thing. The steak was just not great for me.

We ordered several dishes to share, including the Chawanmushi, Seafood Sunomono Salad, Miso Salmon, Sashimi Combo, Super Dragon Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Everything was beautifully prepared, but the Sashimi Combo and Super Dragon Roll were the highlights of our meal! Chawanmushi: This traditional Japanese steamed egg custard featured crab meat and enoki mushrooms. I especially loved its delicate, silky-smooth texture. Seafood Sunomono Salad: Unlike the typical Sunomono salads I've had elsewhere, Cafe Ile's version featured an assortment of seafood, including salmon, tuna, crab, and octopus. It was a nice twist on a classic Japanese dish! Miso Salmon: Miso-marinated salmon served over a bed of cauliflower purée. A lovely combination of flavors! Sashimi Combo: One of my absolute favorites of the evening! The chef's assortment featured an impressive selection of seafood, including monkfish liver, herring, various types and grades of tuna, salmon, scallops, and more. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and I especially appreciated the flavorful takikomi gohan served alongside the sashimi. Super Dragon Roll: Another standout! This roll featured shrimp tempura topped with marinated, cooked eel and alternating red, yellow, and green masago. The combination of ingredients made this one of my favorite rolls of the evening. Rainbow Roll: A classic California roll topped with tuna, salmon, and avocado. A great choice for anyone who enjoys a variety of fish in one roll! Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience at Cafe Ile! I appreciated the variety of traditional Japanese dishes, the freshness of the seafood, and the thoughtful presentation of each dish. The Sashimi Combo alone makes me want to return! We're already looking forward to our next visit, especially to experience their omakase! At the time of our visit, omakase was offered Monday through Thursday at 5:30 PM and required advance reservations. Highly recommend Cafe Ile for anyone looking for quality Japanese cuisine and fresh sashimi in McLean!
