If you wanted fried rice you had to pay $2 extra. I ordered the honey Boston roll. The roll had shrimp, cucumber, avacado and asparagus with honey wasabi sauce. Wow--my faith in customer service was renewed today! My wife has been craving sushi (she recently had a baby and couldn't have any during pregnancy). During a short window while our son was between naps, she went to pick up an order I had placed. Unfortunately, I accidentally sent the order to the Vienna location instead of Gainesville. She called me, confused, since she had so little time and was really looking forward to the meal. I immediately called the Vienna location to explain the situation and had the pleasure of speaking with Ling. She kindly explained that because of the platform I ordered through, she couldn't cancel the payment directly. Instead of leaving me stuck, she took the initiative to call Gainesville, confirm they'd already received payment, and read them the order so it could be prepared right away. As she was hanging up, I even overheard her remind them of my special request for extra ginger. Their sushi is t mind blowing but it is a good value and hits the spot when you have a sushi craving. Picked a great day to visit this location. The interior is quite spacious but chose to sit outside. Generous outdoor seating also. Note, if you are north of 5'9 under table leg room is dicey. They have a few spots in front where you parallel and most is free garage. This is located past mosaic and near Dunkin. We came here on a Thursday for lunch. Their lunch specials are so worth it! We ordered a steak hibachi lunch, sesame chicken, and four rolls of sushi- spicy salmon, eel avocado, shrimp tempura and black dragon. They offer a 2 or 3 sushi roll special and all their lunch specials come with either soup or salad. The steak was cooked perfectly, I just wish there was more of it! Obviously the hibachi sauce it came with was delightful. I enjoyed the sesame chicken as well- not too sweet. The sushi tasted super fresh and I would recommend. We also got their fried dumplings. To keep this short and sweet: I love passion fin, but do not order from UberEats if you can help it! I figured ordering online was easiest in the UberEats app since I was so familiar with the app anyway. I know they sometimes hike up prices slightly, (yes, this is totally on me, I know) but increases for Passion Fin even just to do a pickup order is outrageous. The UberEats total was about $20 MORE than the actual menu prices! These were actually huge price hikes...multiple $15.95 rolls were upped to like $20! I feel like I just threw a bunch of money at a robber that was already on their way out...my fault, but doesn't feel great either way. I'm not sure if Passion Fin has any say in this, since UberEats probably gets that extra sum...but it was a huge turn off, so be careful ordering online! We've had the redskins roll, sunrise roll, passion roll, crab wontons--all amazing and fresh. Redskins is definitely our favorite, so we're excited to keep trying new rolls. I was greeted immediately upon walk-in in. I was seated quickly and ordered from an anxious waitress. She was polite but I could see she wanted to get back to her lunch. (As she nibbled food next to the Kitchen door talking to the sushi chefs) The dining area was clean and well put together. I ordered 1 tuna roll that came to me within minutes. And I also ordered their lunch portion Orange Chicken with white rice that arrived also within minutes of me ordering. I will say this. It did taste fresh and not sitting somewhere. Very delicious on both items. I sat there and noticed all the employees coming to the dining area to eat their meals and I felt not so alone anymore in a semi empty dinning area. I'll review each item: Sake sashimi - best thing I had and wish I had only ordered a plate of this rather than two pieces. Yellow tail sashimi - pretty horrible. It was much tougher than any yellow tail I have ever had so had me wondering if it was really yellow tail at all. Eel roll - I love eel rolls and always try to get them. These were a 2 out of 5. Rainbow roll - mediocre at best with more tough and bland sashimi on top. House cold sake was great after a long walk on a hot day. Stopped in at Passion Fin for an impromptu date night. We had ordered from passion fin while I was in the hospital (first sushi after having our baby)! We wanted to try dining from there too. They have a fairly large menu and offer more than just sushi. My husband and I ordered three rolls to share, but I can't remember their names. Nice clean simple interior and good sushi. I had stopped in at lunch hour and ended up with the godzillla and pink lady. The pick lady was different from other places I have had it (or at least by the same name) but happy to say very tasty. Shrimp shumai appetizer was probably one of the best tasting ones I've had. What stood out the most was the server soooo very friendly and attentive my water glass never went below half and she even joked that she "had to stay busy" so she filled it regularly.
