We just picked up our dog Odin from Passage East Kennels after a week vacation, and we could not be happier. Odin was happy, clean, and in great spirits when we picked him up; showing that the staff showed great care in taking care of him over the past few days. We paid for an extra hour of playtime each day, which was an incredible offering - we even got a small report card from each session of play with what Odin did. We felt safe and comfortable leaving Odin at Passage East Kennels and look forward to another vacation in the future, knowing Odin will be taken care of. read more

Horrible, they left bruises on my dog after leaving my familys precious golden doodle, rocket we called him before the incident happened... and he could never walk again. I would never leave my dog here again, and the situation is currently being pursued. read more

passage East has been so great. we moved here a few years ago and they take amazing care of our boarder collie. she is dog reactive and they make sure she is having fun and comfortable. they send pics and answer my calls quickly, so I can ask how mylas doing. we have been very happy thus far! read more

My dog loves her daycare days and weekend stays at Passage East! They seem to treat my dog like she's their own which is exactly what I was looking for. When my dog stays overnight, we have Passage East give her a bath before pick up and her fur is always shiny, fluffy and delicious smelling. I have brought my little Ollie there for two years and I'm so grateful for every minute. The staff are saints, and have really taken the time to get to know my skiddish rescue pup who doesn't easily warm to people. What matters more to me though is the way passage East time has impacted my little guy. When I first brought him he was withdrawn and didn't want to interact with people apart from myself. However, he now cuddles with my parents freely and does well with other dogs. I can trust that they have his best interests in mind, and show him a huge amount of love. The desk staff is extraordinary. They have treats for Ollie every day, and take the time to get to know me as his mama. My dog is a new man because of the caring humans and passionate mission to see the best in every dog. read more

Overcrowded and understaffed. They don't answer the phone or reply to texts so you have no idea how your dog is doing. No photos posted anywhere either. The upside is it's cheap. The downside is everything else. If you just want a place to dump your dog for the day this is it. read more

I'm so disappointed with this place for daycare. I brought my dog approximately twice a week for several months. At first he came home tired but over time, he didn't like going into the facility and came home over excited and destructive- the opposite of how a dog should return home from daycare. He should come home exhausted from a day of play! Now that I've moved to a good daycare I can see that this place just created him 6 of the 8 hours I left him there. read more

They take adorable pictures so you can see your pet having the time of their life while you're away. I should have trusted my gut. We are new to the area, and thought we would try Passages East for day care, play care and an overnight stay. The place is a bit "funky," and I can deal with that, but the person at the desk seemed bothered that we were there with our dogs. We were not shown where they would stay over night or where they would play during the day. I could go on about the person who is the only trainer there, but unprofessional is an understatement. I tamped down concerns, thinking I should be less judgmental. The most important real reason I'm writing is that both of my dogs got very sick. When I picked them up, the staff said not a word that anything was amiss. But it was immediately evident, they had serious diarrhea. Their condition accelerated quickly, and has taken more than a week, countless tests and X-rays , & $3100 for them to start to feel better. It's devastating. I will never take my dogs here again, and suggest others do the same. read more

The care and attention our pets get at Passage East is truly exceptional. Our 4 year old Golden Lab loves his stays and we love how the staff has gotten to know him. We feel we are dropping him off at a friends house when we need boarding. We have a new kitten who recently took advantage of the Cat Cottage. Based on pictures they post, he loved the toys and playtime he got with the staff. We love our pets and are glad to have discovered Passage East! read more

I highly recommend Passage East Boarding Kennels. They have always been able to accommodate my needs when having to board my dog. He actually loves it there. Passage East Kennels is my go-to spot to get my 70 lb lab mix groomed and his nails cut since I moved to CT. They are WONDERFUL! You can tell just how much they love dogs and they are always willing to share their knowledge. They say first impressions are important: well, the first impression I got from this place was sub par at best! As a first time customer I felt that my needs were not met and that the customer service provided by staff was very poor. What drew me to this place was the price for boarding but I quickly saw that you get what you pay for. This would have been my 6 m/o puppies first time boarding and upon asking for a quick tour of where my dog would be sleeping and playing, I was met with a quick I was met with a quick, "€œNo." which did not ease my worries one bit. After giving one of the attendants the leash for my puppy she quickly pulled him away towards the back room without letting us say our goodbyes (I'm going away for a week and this will be the longest we've ever been away from each other) and when I simply asked if she could bring him back, so I could say goodbye I was met with another swift, "No." because it would "stress him out". Overall I feel that my request (none of which were unreasonable were met as a first time customer). Also, I know the place is called Passage East Kennels, but the fact that it is 2017, and they still use steel kennels and cannot provide you with video feed of your beloved pet while they are in play or boarding is quite disappointing seeing as how that is the standard for pretty much ANY dog boarding establishment in this area. I don't not plan on ever bringing my beloved pet back to this establishment and if I could give this an honest and true rating it would be a (- but seeing as that's not possible I will be giving this place 1 star and I see that as being generous) read more

Passage East is the only place we trust with our 3 year old English Mastiff Meatball. Great outdoor time with lots of dog socialization. Super clean. Great staff that is so kind and caring. We always pay the extra $12 for the one on one time and Meatball just loves it. They always post photos on Facebook so you can see your pup having fun. He has been going there since he was a tiny puppy. He is always happy to go with a staff member at drop off. Can't say enough good things about Passage East! read more

We have been using Passage East for about 2 years now. I am so glad we found them. From day care to grooming to boarding they are great. Now I don't worry when we travel, the dogs are let out to play in a large supervised area for a good part of the day. The staff really cares about the dogs. There is someone there 24 hours a day and a vet is practically next door. My dog loves Passage East. read more

The staff is caring and responsible, the facility is great for the dogs to interact and play, and i never worry about Lyla when she is there. I am so happy I found Passage East Kennels. After my doggie daycare place in Ridgefield closed, I needed another place for my young, active Lab, Luke to come during the day because I work at home. Passage East is convenient and Luke loves playtime with his friends, some of whom he knows from his previous daycare place. Fawn and Katrina are true dog people and they care about the dogs that come to Passage East. Luke is always happy to go there and it's good for him to socialize with the dogs under the supervision of staff. In warm weather they have outdoor runs and dogs are indoors in the cold weather. They are very accommodating about drop offs and pickups which is good when I have to go into the office for meetings. You can be sure your dogs will be well cared for if you choose Passage East kennels. read more
