The tuna & uni tostada was the standout. The tuna had the perfect balance of acidity, and the uni on top added just the right amount of richness. Every bite had so much going on without feeling too heavy. The ceviche was incredibly fresh and bright. The octopus taco was another favorite. The octopus was so tender with no chewiness, it was cooked perfectly. We also tried the aguachile, which was really good, but the tuna dishes stood out to me so much more. Overall, such a great menu with really high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. There are so many other things I want to try, so I'll definitely be coming back!

I have been hearing about this place for a really long time and my friend from Texas was visiting,…read moreso we decided to give it a try. We heard how crazy the lines get so we went early. Since it is in a food hall we were able to grab coffee and wait. We ended up getting in line at around 10:45ish because there were people already standing. We ended up being the fourth group. We got a chance to sit at the bar so it was perfect timing. We got a few tacos, the shrimp, ceviche and the guacamole and the tar tar. The shrimp was super flavorful and was probably the best. Everyone talks about the octopus I think that was my least favorite one. Everything was really fresh and the service was great! I do not know if I will be back just because of how crazy the wait time would be. But if you do go then you should definitely arrive early!

The drive there was a bit iffy due to location but surprisingly the street that the restaurant is on was clean and felt pretty safe! I chose to park on the street but I'd advise to valet ($15) for safety purposes. We walked into a concrete built up newish area that had a brewery and another Michelin rated restaurant across the courtyard. The entire area was inviting! The restaurant felt like we took a dinner vacation to Cabo which was recipe for a relaxing evening! We ordered from the restaurant week menu which for us consisted of Ceviche, Guac w/delicious fresh tortilla fresh chips, whipped beans, snapper, bbq chicken, empanadas and basque cheesecake. All were great!.. we just wanted a larger portion of everything! I'd recommend and will definitely go again! I love restaurant week!

Ambiance was amazing as everyone is talking about. They have done really good with the decor. Menu was great and they have good amount of options from fix menu about grill meat or à la cart. Sauce with the pollo was delicious. I would recommend this plate. For drinks we tried couple of their cocktails and they were good but I couldn't see anything more special to be for $22/$23. Over all it is a great place to check it out. I am giving one star less is due to the some menu price which I was not able to justify. (Parking fee additional and no validation)

Got here about an hour before closing so the Mercado had a chill vibe in general and the lines were pretty short... So of course I took advantage of getting food items from a couple of locations! I just felt so spoiled with so much delicious food available to me... and with little to no wait on anything! As expected, both the tostada and the quesadilla were fantastic and oh so aesthetically pleasing. I wish my stomach or appetite was bigger. I really do want to try some of the other spots that don't get featured as much... I guess there's next time. Always a treat when visiting the Mercado. Especially when there is a possibility of grabbing a lot of different high-quality bites at different places for the same meal. ~ ALL LOOKS, NO SERVICE, BIG REGRET ~…read more Reviews looked good on yelp so my group opted to have an early dinner here, but wow... this was one of the most disappointing and uncomfortable dining experiences I've had in a long time. We came in around 5:30pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was literally empty. That should've been our first clue. We were seated and then completely ignored for about 25 minutes... no water, no menus, no check-in. We finally had to flag someone down just to acknowledge we existed. Things went downhill fast. When my pregnant friend asked if they had iced tea or coke, the server actually told her she shouldn't be having caffeine and suggested something else instead. That comment was wildly inappropriate, not her place, and absolutely unacceptable. Full stop! Ordering food took forever, and when it finally arrived, it was painfully underwhelming. Dishes were missing items listed on the menu, portions were small, and the prices were laughable for what you get... think expensive guacamole that barely feeds one person, croquettes that tasted frozen, and fries that felt like an afterthought. Add in an extra kitchen fee on the bill and it just felt insulting. Service overall was scattered and disengaged, the space didn't feel very clean, and for a party of 8 being the only guests there, it somehow felt like we were an inconvenience. No warmth, no hospitality, no accountability. This place tries hard to look like an upscale Latin fusion spot, but it's all surface-level. Between the disrespectful comment, slow service, overpriced and mediocre food, and awkward vibes, this was an easy never again. Please save your time, money, and energy.

I specifically noted on the reservation that it was his birthday and even asked if we could have a nice table. When we arrived, we were seated at a cramped table. We noticed the table next to us had much more space, so we politely asked one of the staff if we could move there. Her response was basically, "We need that table." No explanation, no attempt to accommodate us, and honestly, not much sense of customer service. Our server, thankfully, was quite nice. She was helpful, explained some of the menu items we had questions about, and took our order. The food also came out pretty quickly, so I'll give them credit for that. But then came the little things that really make or break an experience. We asked for soda refills for our kid and waited about 10 minutes. Ten minutes for a soda refill! It felt like the restaurant was completely packed, when it really wasn't! There were only few tables that's occupied! And the biggest disappointment? Not even a birthday dessert or any acknowledgment of my husband's birthday. We made sure to mention it in the reservation, so we expected at least a little something--especially at a Ritz-Carlton property. For a place like this, I expect more than just taking orders, bringing food, and checking off the basic duties. Hospitality is supposed to be about making guests feel special, especially when they're celebrating something. Unfortunately, the overall feeling was: do the job, go home, and that's the end of the day. There was no "above and beyond" moment that made this birthday dinner memorable--in a good way. Very disappointing experience. For what we expected from a Ritz-Carlton dining experience, Corteza missed the mark.

I'm not sure how involved the owner is with the staff, but they should know that the way customers are treated is hurting the business. This wasn't just a one-time bad experience either. I've dealt with rude service here more than once. The last time I went in, I was the only customer there and was told it would be a 55-minute wait for half a chicken. When I questioned the wait, the woman working there said to me in Spanish, "¿Pa' qué viniste pues, si no quieres esperar?" Basically, "Why did you come then if you don't want to wait?" At that point I just walked away in the middle of ordering. There is absolutely no reason to speak to a paying customer that way. It's a shame because the food is good, but the customer service makes you not want to come back.

Quiet, not too loud round that time of day. As always, every time I go to a Salvi restaurant is for the pupusas. I ordered 3 of them, with different fillings on rice flour. To cut to the chase, they were a solid 2.5 out of 5. Cheese tasted like regular jack. Chicharron was okay. Their tomato salsa was hella thin, almost like just red water, no taste all either. Pupusas also felt kinda undercooked. The rice flour kept sticking on my gums and teeth and believe me, it ain't supposed to be that way.
