We had a good lunch here at this newly opened bakery and cafe the other day. We ordered at the counter -- unfortunately they didn't have the pizza that I'd read about here -- and paid and they brought our food out to us. We came in the back side of the restaurant/bakery. There is also an entrance on the other side, too. We were able to park right nearby. We were planning to sit inside as it was raining, but it was freezing cold inside so we chose an outside table. Not sure if they keep it so cold because of the chocolates or what... My husband ordered an individual sized tomato and cheese quiche which they heated up in a mini oven. I got to steal a taste. The inside was light and fluffy. He quite liked it. I got a chicken sandwich on a baguette. It was white meat chicken breast sliced thin with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber along with slices of hard boiled eggs. There was mayo on the bread -- that tasted home made. The sandwich was very good. The baguette (or you could have it on a croissant) was wonderfully rustic and crusty and all the veggies crisp. I'd get it again, but maybe leave off the mayo (due to the extra calories). My husband couldn't resist getting a couple mini lemon tarts for dessert. They were lovely to look at. And we took an apple pastry home with us. You can eat in or take your food to go. Either way, do make sure you go inside to look at all the pastries, macrons, breads, and chocolates in the display cases. Some of the designs are just so darn pretty; some quite cleverly shaped; and some creative masterpieces. If your budget allows, you will find it hard to choose from among the options. You step in and the scent / atmosphere makes you feel like you're in Paris. The croissants are absolutely delicious - flaky, buttery and soft. We got the raisin croissant, chocolate almond croissant and an almond and cheese croissant. I didn't take any pictures because we ate them so quickly. Where to go for Brunch? I let Yelp make a suggestion. Oh Wow!!! I'm so happy! My mouth is agape with awe looking at all this bakery prepares daily. No preservatives! The helper gave me a short tour. The croissants, quiches, fancy cakes, and candies all made with butter and Chocolate imported from France. I had a latte with a foam heart, a perfect omelette with mushrooms, Swiss and bacon and it was served with a perfect croissant. Other pictures are of an almond croissant, a chocolate almond croissant and an apple turnover. The small dining area is adjoined to the large bakery. I would travel the 25 miles to come back here again. I am writing this review in mid-September but I am sure this place is packed during season. I walked into this bakery/patisserie when it opened and it keeps getting better and better. The quality of the food is by far the best in the area and the festive holiday treats are a conversation piece in addition to being delicious. I can also get food there that is on a restricted diet. Stopped by this magical addition to Pompano beach for a quick lunch today. I've been on the look out for an amazing local bakery, and this is the best by a mile! There are three main cases, the first one with more savory options such as but not limited to croissants, croque monsieur/madams and their pizza twist of the day. Second case has beautiful tarts and pastries that are seasonally themed and the last case has macarons and chocolates. Their prices are a steal for the quality. Admittedly I'm no connoisseur but I certainly am a baked good enthusiast and every bite was heaven. I ordered their pizza of the day ($7.50 for a 6 inch twist filled with mushrooms, chicken, and roasted cherry tomatoes), their ham & cheese croissant stuffed with cheese and deliciously flaky ($6), a bag of 20 cute super mini merengues ($5), a cortadito and a cappuccino with one shot. I also received two complimentary mint tasting macaroons with my order which was an even lovelier surprise. It had a ground pistachio cream in the middle and buttery, crunchy layers on the outside. Pleasant interior , comfortable for lunch. They also have some outside seating. Visited this French Bakery on the outskirts of the new Aldi store in Pompano off Federal Highway. We were greeted with several glass counters full of pastries and croissants. Chocolate, blueberry, raspberry and others. They had several French sandwiches, macrons, breads and some jams too. Pricing was high side for many items, but all appeared to be well crafted and worth the premium. We tried several croissants and found them to be light, crispy on edges, and full of flavor. The blueberry version turned a unique green striped pastry and we almost discarded due to coloring. Glad we didn't. The chocolate cream melt away was the family favorite and could have polished off many instead of sharing between us. We have a very unique baguette for Sunday dinner. They will not slice these due to size, but still looks rather rustic and easy to cut off pieces and butter or garlic and toast tomorrow. read more
