So Pompano has gotten very lucky. We now Have a high quality French bakery. The real deal: from croque monsieur to almond chocolate croissants. No strawberry shortcake here (thank goodness) In house made chocolates and bread just puts icing on the cake (no pun intended). They have a top of the line Rancillio Coffee espresso machines that delivers terrific cappuccino. Owners and daughter from France could not be nicer. The best of the best! This is a relatively new bakery, well fitted out and owned by a well seasoned pastry chef with decades of top level experience. It is a nice place to be, is classy and is well stocked with pastries and sweets all made on the premises. There are tables and a small bar within the restaurant, and there are several tables outside on the footpath. We ordered quiches. Without doubt, they were the best I have ever eaten. They were light, fluffy and full of flavor. We followed these with an apple and cinnamon tart, a napoleon, and a pavlova. All were excellent and the highest praise I can offer is that the napoleon tasted as I expect European pastries to taste...that is, of something other than sugar. Then there was the coffee. Nicely made and wonderfully delicious. It is a little expensive but it presents as great value for money. There is no doubt we will be back on a regular basis. read more

Been here numerous times for bread, croissants, and other breakfast bakery items since they opened. Food is good, if on the pricey side. On Friday, I was invited to a relatives home for dinner so I thought I would get some French pastries from here. (I had never tried the pastries before). I bought 12 mini pastries (and they are miniscule- one bite). I was charged $42. Ok, I don't mind paying if it's good. However, when we tasted them, they were stale. Éclair cream inside was hard and sugar coating on top, grainy. I was embarrassed. While I will probably go back for the bread and croissants, I will not buy pastries again. read more

I recommend Pascal & Cathy Bakery, is a taste of Europe in every bite. The Parisian croissant is delicious, my favorite without pickles, also the quiches is excellent to pair with a cappuccino. The main ingredients are from France, meaning the flour is so good that you can eat bread every day without feeling guilty. Everything is fresh. The service is very good, Pascal happily answered all our questions smiling and feeling proud of his work, a good example for all the kids around us asking also for ice cream. I have visited Pascal & Cathy Bakery at least 4 times in the past 8 or 10 months. Each time I purchased only different baked goods (no meals). Each time I was given the distinct impression that they were doing me a favor by allowing me to buy from them. While the bakery items have been excellent, they were not of a quality that I cannot get somewhere else, somewhere where the management is appreciative of their customers. Have been looking forward for a long time to trying this place with my wife and we finally did. Customer service was horrible, in short 1 person started my order in the oven and went to do other stuff the other 2 behind the counter didn't hear the bell she set... I had to ask where my food was after almost 20min and then got an item that was totally burnt... When I brought it up to show it was burnt and asked for my money back for that item (my wife had finished her meal, I had finished my espresso and didn't want to stay for them to remake it, so only wanted a refund on the item I couldn't eat) the counter person sees the burnt section and then flips the rest over like she didn't believe me. got my refund and then as I was handed the receipt "sorry"... too bad my wife loved the quality and prices were in line with a place like this but customer service and how they handle when things go wrong is just as if not more important. read more

While back visiting my old stomping grounds in South Florida and sitting at a red light, we saw a sign across the street that said "Bakery". Curious, we stopped in to take a look-see. Boy are we glad that we did! A dazzling array of carefully made delicacies lay before our wide eyes! And the food tastes as good as it looks! I had the best eclair I ever ate in my life! I got the vanilla flavor. It wasn't overly sweet...just sweet enough. And the bread part of the eclair was sooo amazingly delicious! I felt like I was transported to Paris! The restaurant was sparkling clean and the lady working there was extremely nice. The energy and vibration of the bakery and the whole experience was very high. Well today took over 15 mins for one cup of coffee that they didn't even start to make and the other employee says was she even in line? I'm so happy we found this gem! The best croissants I've had outside of France. We also had the raisin croissant which i will definitely be getting again. The croque madame was good but the omelettes are quite small, though delicious. We've gotten their baguettes several times and they are the BEST! There's plenty of parking on both the north and south sides, very clean and comfortable inside with a few outside tables too. Our only real complaint is the coffee cups are hard to hold and there's an upcharge for milk or cream which I've never had ever at any restaurant. Business has been brisk each time we've been there, so I hope they'll be successful in Pompano for a long time. read more
