Although they had never done "Final Rose" themed cake, they said they would be more than happy to bring our vision to life. This cake and overall experience did not disappoint. They went above and beyond by adding nuts in the filling of the cake to enhance the pecan flavor of the cake (not something we even asked for). However, before I drove over, I use their QR code to order online when I realized that cinnamon buns have to be pre-ordered. But I called, Gentry was very kind to let me know that even though she had a large order of cinnamon buns, she could spare two for me! Drove out here again today to take a peek at the renowned baker and owner, Lee, mixing fresh batter to create one of her illustrious custom cakes, although none were ready yet, but it was still early. The Ultimate Cookie Dough Oreo Cake looked sweet and dense and it needed to be in my belly. Quickly purchased an espresso from Gathering Grounds and the Ultimate Cake from Lovelee for a mere $5.00. Carefully carried my treat to the outside patio tables to hopefully enjoy a few minutes of sugary bliss. My first bite proved that Lee is in fact a culinary genius and has stepped out of the textbook guidelines to create a well deserved masterpiece. The chocolate chip cookie dough was ultra moist and impaled with full oreo cookies - please see pic for confirmation. After engulfing my gastro snack, it was now evident that a sugar coma supercedes a coffee buzz every time. Not sure what to expect but we were surely anticipating a sweet encounter. We walk inside and see the glass display case of goodies (vanilla and chocolate cakes, truffles and cheese bread). Behind the glass display was an entire open view professional bakery with dough mixers and ovens. The smell of this shop was pure bliss and possibly ten pounds on the hips. The manager, Chris, greeted us immediately and began conversing with us about his shop. The genius behind the scenes was the owner, Giselle, who popped out her head from near the ovens and said hello. We tried the cheese bread and three truffles - strawberry, coconut and chocolate.
