I've been to The Soulful Steep a few times, and while I've always loved the unique vibe, extensive menu, and cozy atmosphere, my experience today truly stood out thanks to Rimsha. The menu here can feel a little overwhelming at first (so many amazing options!), but Rimsha was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. She took the time to guide me through the menu, made thoughtful recommendations, and really made me feel comfortable instead of rushed. I mentioned I was having some bladder sensitivity, and she recommended an iced detox tea with agave--and it was so good. She also suggested her favorite empanadas, and I ended up getting the Caprese and the flank steak with cheese (with chimichurri), both of which were delicious. What really made the experience special was how attentive and caring she was. It didn't feel transactional at all--she made it feel welcoming and personal. HIPPIES UNITE !!! One of the coolest tea rooms with colorful entry points to entice any hippie to strut inside and blend in with the tranquil laid-back ambiance. My wife went bananas over some of the shirts and I was engaged with the retro records and turntables. So many little niches to sprawl out and enjoy a pastry tea or coffee. This is a very well-run and unique establishment that adds a lot to the Broward tea/coffee shop scene while helping to build local community. It maxes out on the earthy and eclectic free-spirited vibe, but in a way that somehow doesn't feel awkward to someone like me who typically prefers a more urban, modern, and minimalist aesthetic. I'm not one who drinks tea away from home, so I've only had their espresso drinks, and can vouch that they stand up to anything made by a more focused coffee shop in the area. Christina, the proprietor, is kind, personable, and welcoming. While I don't live close enough to come here on the regular, I'll definitely be back, whether to hang out and do some reading, to try the salt cave, or to check out an open-mic or one of their other community events. read more

I came back here last Friday and enjoyed a chai latte with a business colleague. Their teas are all made with fresh tea leaves. They have a very large assortment of teas to choose from. They had 2 different chai teas, one had a lot of turmeric added, the other had less spices. The chai was very fragrant. I had to pass on the pastries. An interesting shop to say the least. The back of the shop was bright pink and noticed it while my hubby and I were eating at the South Bar and Kitchen. The sign outside welcomed hippies so of course I entered and felt a calmness and a light scent of incense. Several customers were chilling out on the sofa type seating drinking tea and coffee while I browsed the hippie items including a super soft cool white evil eye bathrobe. A smile and greeting awaits you as you take In the colors and decorations from the 70s and 80s. Amazing teas and deserts. Let me start from the beginning. I made an appointment for 3, myself and some friends for a salt cave experience. It did not disappoint. I had a lovely lavender eye mask, a fluffy blanket and off I went into a peaceful sleep. My friends loved it and they both felt as rested as I did. We had tea after and some delicious jack fruit patties and pandas. The setting reminded me of stores in the 70's -- something a bit hippy, crystals, incense, scented soaps, eclectic decor, peace sign jewelry, etc. They have over 60 different teas and will pair ailments with the proper one should you desire. But they do have herbals, kombucha, and mushroom drinks... From their food menu, we each chose a couple empanadas. They were served piping hot with some chimichurri sauce. I got a steak and a chicken one. I liked the chicken the best of the two. He got a bacon and plum one and a dessert one -- apple. He liked the bacon one best of his choices. The cutest tea emporium in pompano beach! They also have a salt room you can book, who would have known! I had an iced organic Madagascar vanilla latte, highly recommend. Not sweet, so you could really taste the vanilla. I also got the plum, bacon, mozzarella empanada. I couldn't taste the bacon at all, and the mozzarella made the dough soggy unfortunately. I have wanted to stop here for so long, and when in the area with an hour to spare, my husband and I finally made that happen! The Soulful Steep is located in the historic area of Pompano Beach just north of Atlantic Boulevard. There is free street parking outside. This unique place reminds me of some cool spots I've been to in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Memphis probably because it's in a refurbished old building. They feature local art work that's for sale, and the seating areas are so inviting. While you can get your drinks to go, I highly recommend planning to stay for some time and just enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and vibe. The woman behind the counter was very lovely and made recommendations to me. I honestly can't remember what iced tea I purchased because I let her make me something based on how I was feeling in that moment. I can say that it was nice and refreshing... and honestly just what I needed in that moment. Is she the Tea Whisperer?! My husband loved their kombucha. We also got a piece of cinnamon cake to share. This spot has so many delicious local bakery items that are not to be missed. Aside from the dining area, there is a cute store and a salt room. How cute is this place! I only came once since I'm not from the area. Everyone was very happy with their drinks, but I have to rave about their desserts. It seems they get them from the local community. Anything you get will be delicious. We got the cinnamon roll and pecan tart, both were so good. I was in Pompano Beach picking up a taxidermy fish from Gray Taxidermy. Since I was in the area, I checked out options for coffee. I love a unique coffee shop and stumbled upon The Soulful Steep as an option. I was sold right away just from the photos I saw on Yelp. Funny enough, it was only 5 minutes away from where I was. There is plenty of street parking available right in front of The Soulful Steep. When you walk into the space, its almost like you've been transported to this cool and magical world. It's hard not to be mesmerized by all the details and eclectic decor. The space is really cool with lots going on, but it makes for an interesting tour just walking around so you can take it all in. Met the owner John, who was engaging from the moment I walked in. Very friendly guy and so personable. He guided me to Maya, who assisted with my order. They had special coffee & tea option, empanadas, wellingtons, and plenty of mouthwatering desserts on display. How does one even choose?!? Lol. Maya was wonderful and she did a great job explaining the menu and options to me. Very sweet and so patient. I ended up getting the specialty superfood lavender latte with two shots of espresso and a Peruvian chicken empanada with chimichurri. The specialty superfood latte was interesting. It was good, but it was a little different in texture or flavor vs a regular coffee latte. The empanada was pretty bomb! The chimichurri really added so much flavor to the empanada and complemented it well. Before I got my food and drink, John was nice enough to give me a small tour of the space. It was so nice to hear the story of how they came up with the inspiration for this place. Would you believe there is a Salt Cave towards the back of the place too? It's like a secret bat cave! So cool. It was actually wild. I really need to come back here to do this salt cave as it sounds so relaxing and just what I need. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time today to do it today. He showed me the back patio area too where they just completed an art mural. I also got to meet Christina, John's wife and the other owner of The Soulful Steep. I knew right away Christina was the other half as she came into the shop and immediately picked up my empty plate. I asked if she was one of the owners and she said yes. I also asked if she was John's wife and she said yes. Haha. She was very sweet and friendly and we chatted a bit about the place. I also noticed the Pompano Beach magazine that had her on the cover. Nice article for the place! I got to squeeze in some work and chill time. This spot was the perfect little coffee shop. So different and so eclectic. Not your typical Starbucks or basic coffee spot. John & Christina are great and they are so great engaging with their customers. It's so refreshing to see! The Soulful Steep has been open for 6 months now so they are still quite new. All I can say is WOW!!! My husband and I were out for a bike ride when we decided to stop in for a quick drink. Entering the shop immediately put us into an entirely relaxed frame of mind. The owner Christina helped us pick the perfect drinks (a watermelon infused cold concoction of healthy elixirs for me and a flavored kombucha for my husband). We also had a baked good (all baked by locals) that was beyond delicious. We felt as if we had entered one of the peaceful coffee and tea shops we love in Sedona, Arizona. Aside from the amazing food and drinks, the owners of the shop were so friendly that it seemed we had known them for ages. Christina's husband John offered us a tour of their salt cave which was unbelievable. Behind a door we found a relaxing oasis for health rejuvenation and meditation. They also have heated salt foot rests which we used while playing one of their many board games. We went in for a quick drink and stayed almost 2 hours. It is not always easy to find a place where you can escape and clear your mind. The Soulful Steep is one of those places. We are excited to try one of their many events and more of their delicious food and drink offerings. We will be loyal customers for a long time!!! read more

There is a corner with cool stuff to buy highlighting local artwork, things yo to wear, jewelry (always my fav!), and even doggie treats & doggie bandanas! Tonite, Friday, there's a stage set up with tables & chairs on the back patio with an excellent band (free!) You can bring your own folding chairs if you like. Tonites band "THE FLYERS" are really great musicians that had us up dancing! Really cute Tea shop with a large variety of teas. My friend and I went to the shop for an event they were having, while we waited we tried a tea and some of their locally bought empanadas. The amount of tea they have is overwhelming but the barista can tell you exactly what's in the tea and what it will do for you if you give them what you are looking for. Being pregnant I was not able to have a lot of them but they did have 3 specific pregnancy safe blends on hand. The shop has a spiritual vibe, which is pretty relaxing. I am from out of town and was invited by a very good friend of mine and when I entered the Soulful Steep I was transported into an eclectic environment with beautiful original artwork from local artist and the wonderful aroma of fresh tea. I had the pleasure of talking with the owner who was so kind to give me the history and tour of his establishment and the amazing salt bath constructed by his wife. The Soulful Steep is more than just a tea or coffee shop, the food was amazing, the cakes that were locally made by the locals in that area were absolutely delicious, moist, flavorful and unique. I highly recommend the crab cakes and potato scallions and with me being from Maryland I'm a hard judge on crab cakes from out of town however, the Soulful Steep NAILED IT!!!! That said, I've been here twice since ( &only because it isn't down the street from me or I'd definitely be a regular). Nevertheless, it is a funky/zen den that no doubt serves as an escape from the day to day grind. You can easily pop in for a freshly made bite/drink (plenty of on street/free parking) or sit & soak in the vibes over a book,etc. There are several nooks for sitting spread throughout so seating isn't a problem (indoor & outdoor). Also, consider yourself warned, they have an adorably curated collection of artisanal crafts and bohemian-esque pieces (from wall art to necklaces to candles, etc.) that are sure to catch your eye & keep you (& in my case my ADHD) more than entertained! As if that wasn't enough, they sold me with a tour of their salt cave amenity (purchased separately) & their mention of upcoming events/workshops, etc. to be hosted in the space. All I gotta say is, I wish this place was in existence when I was living in Pompano, but I will gladly commute a half an hour from Coral Springs each day just for some great tea, service and such a tranquil atmosphere! I drove past the location when they were about to close and came back the very next evening invited three of my friends to meet me there and what an experience! I gotta say that our truly delightful experience was solely attributed to our Attentive and professional and extremely helpful barista, Maya. She took us on a tour and quite honestly, I'm writing this review the very next day as I'm on my way back there have a little quiet time and rest and relaxation on my own while checking out that salt room experience. I stumbled into this new establishment accidentally about four months ago with a friend of mine. The place is very beautiful inside and decorated unlike any other coffee shop in South Florida. We were fortunate enough to meet the owners John and Cristina on that first walk in and we were very impressed by the owners. They showed us around the shop and even their beautiful salt room. My second stop in was the reason I'm writing this review. It's very obvious that the owners John and Christina work hard to bring in the right employees for this beautiful shop. When I walked in late Sunday morning, I was greeted by Eliza and her wonderful smile. I Was greeted immediately as I walked in the door. Eliza expertly recommended an amazing piece of mushroom quiche which I decided to go with. She also recommended a muffin and I can't remember which one it was, but it was amazing! I also ordered a double espresso. The coffee that they use an amazing flavor with almost a hint of sweetness in the coffee. I know that because I drink my espresso black. It was very impressed overall by everything, but without the right people working, you will have nothing. Eliza is an amazing young woman that represents this little shop extremely well. With an eye on healthy offerings, the owners, John and Christina (and Ocean if you count their dog) deliver on a relaxing, hippie vibe where they offer a wide variety of teas, coffees and light eats. All the food is locally sourced and delicious, particularly the empanadas and the shepherds pie (a personal favorite). My favorite spot is in front of the faux fireplace, which I find tremendously relaxing. On top of all of this, they host fun events, most recently their classic rock night, which was spun on their in-house vinyl DJ station. Imagine that! They actually play real records!! I LOVE THAT! Went with friends to open mic night to see my other friends play music and sing and had a truly wonderful experience. The food and beverage selection was epic. The place was so magical that my friend bought a sizable chunk of the art based on vibe alone. I'm lucky to have a piece in my living room illuminating the atmosphere in the whole room. I also have Himalayan floor lamps that we purchased. We spent a glorious 45 minute session in the Salt Cave on a return visit. The owners are a joy. I highly recommend the food.
