Founded in Taiwan in 1997 by Tommy Hung, CoCo Bubble Tea (also known as Coco Fresh Tea & Juice ) has grown into one of the world's largest bubble tea chains, with more than 5,000 locations worldwide. It was built on the mission of providing "consistency and continuity" while serving high-quality tea with exceptional customer service. The company prides itself on using fresh fruit, creating innovative drinks, and designing bright, modern stores. Its first U.S. location opened in New York in 2011, and the brand has continued to expand across the country. The menu is packed with choices, including classic milk teas, fruit teas, fresh teas, seasonal specialties, slushes, cloud teas topped with a creamy Himalayan salt foam, and Yakult drinks that blend the popular Japanese probiotic yogurt drink with tea or fruit juice. I had previously enjoyed a drink at the Boca Raton location, so I was excited to discover that a new shop had recently opened on University Drive in Coral Springs. The café has a few tables both inside and outside, where you can enjoy your drink or even catch up on some work. One thing I really appreciate is that CoCo offers several unique drinks that you don't see at most bubble tea shops. They also feature seasonal flavors, and this month's spotlight was lychee, so I was immediately sold. The seasonal menu included a Lychee Jasmine Milk Tea, a Lychee Yakult Pink Blossom, and the drink I chose, the Lychee Iced Tea. For the pièce de résistance, I added coconut jelly. The tea was filled with whole juicy lychees so that every sip was sweet and refreshing. It was the perfect way to cool off. The next time I'm craving bubble tea, I know exactly where to go.

The woman at the counter was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating. Since it was our first visit, she took the time to explain the menu, answer our questions, and even let us sample a few drinks before ordering. I accidentally ordered the wrong item, and without any hassle, they graciously replaced it with what I had intended to order. That level of hospitality made a great first impression. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend the Ube Taro Cloud with oat milk at 25% sugar. Ube is a subtly sweet purple root vegetable with a creamy, nutty, vanilla-like flavor. The Cloud version tops the drink with a light, airy milk foam that makes every sip smooth and rich without feeling overly heavy. The Watermelon Refresher was equally impressive--light, crisp, and genuinely refreshing without being overly sweet. It's the kind of drink that's perfect on a hot South Florida afternoon. Jade Tea House combines exceptional customer service with thoughtfully crafted drinks in a peaceful setting. They also have a location in Davie. I'll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu.

And their Boba is very mid in flavor, mostly ice and extremely difficult to drink due to the packaging. I haven't been able to find another nearby place with such delicious Japanese-style crepes or as much house specials of udon, miso, and ramen. The last time I had visited was at least 3 years ago, and the ramen was delicious then, but the menu was more limited. Definitely not the case now, but I can't speak for the quality of the food yet. But it was great then, and the management seems to have stayed mostly the same. J-Petal's an awesome place to step into for a change of pace. They've got a ton of decor up and I remember service being quick. This time I placed an order online, and I received a free drink in exchange for this Yelp review, so I'd say their service is still pretty great! That combined with the fact that I picked up my food 30 minutes after I was notified that it was ready, and my crepe was still a nice temperature. The staff member waited until I was there to add my ice cream as well Made me feel less stressed out. I used to have a rule of going to Fyr & Ice for substantial asian fusion food, and J-Petal for desserts, but for the sake of food journalism (and wanting to try some of their new, cool-sounding specials) I might change that around this summer.

From the moment that we walked in, the employee taking the orders was not very friendly. We asked her what she recommends and she was helpful in that area. Her recommendations were great but she had a very try flat effect and did not smile at all. My husband and I were dining with my 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter. My son ending up leaning back holding onto the countertop (as most little boys who can't stand still might do) and the trim under the countertop came loose along with the nails used to secure it. My son weighs all of 40 pounds and he is very small. There is no reason why it would've come loose. When this happened, the girl taking our order said nothing. She simply looked at us and dismissed our apologies and said "I'll look at it after". We apologized numerous times at this point and sat down while we waited for our food. While we were eating, there was another staff member who came around (I'm assuming the chef) and took photos of the trim which made us feel very uncomfortable. The other staff member kept looking at us and back at the piece of wood which did not make anything better and only added to the way we were feeling to begin with. We quickly hurried and left with our food packed in containers instead of dining in. Upon leaving, nobody greeted us and said anything to us. The front register employee just stared at us as we walked out. We were the only people in there dining and I promise you, I'll never be back. I might order from ubereats again, because as I said, the food was delicious. But the service needs to be adjusted. What happened should never be a child's fault. If anything, that could've really hurt him and the blame would 100% fall onto the restaurant and the owners. It was our first experience here, and unfortunately, our last. Great food but horribly employed.

The drinks always hit the spot and the service is always great (shoutout to Leon and team). My go to is always something tangy and tart so like a grapefruit or lemon yakult. We never really get food, but as a FYI, they have some food and snack options via the menu as well as some packaged goods such as hello panda available for purchase too. They've recently added two claw machines (tokens needed, available for purchase but can also be redeemed with your reward points) making it a cute little activity to pass the time as you wait for your food and drinks.
