Paul and co. fixed a lamp we like for a reasonable price. He knew almost immediately what was wrong with it when I brought it in. Repair took around 4-5 days. Great experience. read more

Good location, and I think the only higher end lighting store in Pasadena. However, I have been there three times in the last two weeks and have always had the same rude man wait on me. Today he said "if you need a shade go over there and find one for yourself". If I want that kind of service, I can go to Target. So, skip this place, and find a lighting store where courtesy prevails. read more

Just returned something there that didn't fit my needs. No hassle at all. Very professional and cordial. Knowledgeable and helpful. Great customer service. Highly recommended! read more

I have been going to Pasadena Lighting for 5+ years. I have never been disappointed by their product, service and high level of professionalism. They know their product and if they don't have it, they will find it for you. Their customers are professional interior designers, electricians, business owners and simple folk like myself who have very basic questions and needs when it comes to lighting. Consider this place your destination for all your lighting needs. read more

I obtained a catalogue from Hinkley Lighting and ordered an outdoor lamp from Pasadena Lighting. It is also available from numerous vendors online, but I chose to support a local business. When I ordered the item I had email and phone conversations with Dean. I paid $400 to secure the order with the rest due upon pick-up. At no point in the conversations did Dean say that this was a special order item and could not be returned. I also received an email from Dean giving the prices. Again, no mention in the email that this item could NOT be returned. Lita, the owner, later said they always let customers know when an item is special order and can't be returned. This is not true. I never suspected this would be an unreturnable item as it is a commonly available item from many vendors, and all the others I contacted had easy return policies as long as I paid return shipping. When I went to pick up the item and pay the final balance ($300), "Special Order" was hand-written on the invoice and the fine print on the bottom of the invoice does say no returns on special orders. After I signed the invoice my copy was stamped with "Special Order". My error for not checking more closely. So, buyer beware. As noted, several other vendors sell the exact same lamp from Hinkley and offer full refund with no restocking fee. Your best bet is just to not do business with Pasadena Lighting. You can get better deals and much better customer service from other vendors. read more

I wish all stores gave the quality customer service that Pasadena Lighting does. I brought in what I thought was a broken lamp, but before they just took it to repair, they first tested it to see what was wrong. And it wasn't even broken...it was my outlet at home that was broken. I will go back whenever I need anything to do with lighting my home. read more

Having a whole house remodel!! Picked one fixture from Dean and were totally impressed and subsequently bought all indoor and outdoor lighting from Pasadena Lighting. Never had such reliability, knowledge and support from a business. Problems and anxieties along the way as our remodel stretched on were easily dealt with by Dean and Dennis. Many times we left the store saying "lucky we came here!!". read more

Pasadena lighting had the unique part I was looking for, and they were able to order more for me. The price was reasonable, and the service was wonderful. read more

After searching for weeks online and at several showrooms, we finally found the perfect lamps here. The prices were fair for the quality products that they carry, but their service went above and beyond my expectations, and that will keep me coming back. I have an old house (built in 1900) which always complicates a project, but this job was especially bad. While shopping for the ceiling box to mount the lamps, I misplaced the mounting bracket and decorative nuts for one of the lamps. After several trips to different hardware stores, I discovered that the lamps use a non-standard bracket that even the "universal adjustable" type can't replicate. The staff at Pasadena Lighting was more than happy to piece together a custom part from spare hardware that fit the bill. When it turned out that I couldn't find replacement mounting nuts in the right size and finish, they gave me the pair off if the floor model. When my ceiling wasn't level and we needed to shorten and re-tap one of the support tubes so that the lamps hung at the same height, they did that at no charge. The bottom line is that Dean and the rest of the folks at the store are really interested in doing whatever they can to make the customer happy, and go far beyond what I expect from a store these days. Definitely worth any small price difference you might find between them and an online or big box retailer. read more

We love this place - at first the staff may seem a little "stern" but they warm up to you with time and they really know what they are doing. They can help you with any lighting needs and if it isn't in their beautiful show room they have tons of catalogs to choose from. Additionally they have every lightbulb you could possibly need. Great store! read more

Dean at Pasadena Lighting was truly wonderful to work with. We have used this excellent store on several occasions, and in every instance, they have gone to great lengths to make our experiences positive and pleasant. Their quality inventory is vast, but their client service is truly exceptional. Dean worked tirelessly to fulfill a quick turn-around order for us, even calling over the Thanksgiving holiday to give me tracking numbers and updates. Then, when the fixtures didn't work after all, he worked equally as diligently to help make a return possible to the manufacturer. He was patient, knowledgeable, professional and accommodating -- I can't praise him highly enough. Five stars in every way!! read more

We have been working with Pasadena Lighting for years. Carolyn and Dean are wonderful resources for our business. They are quick to respond to product inquiry requests and they always go to the next level to ensure that our needs are met. One of the most valuable qualities is that they inspect each order to ensure that what is delivered is in perfect condition and always replace broken pieces with no additional cost. We know when it comes to lighting we can count on Pasadena Lighting! read more

I had a GREAT experience at Pasadena Lighting. I had two vintage lamps that needed new wiring and hardware and they look GOOD AS NEW. The service was quick, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I would come back in a heartbeat and totally recommend them. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! Wow, what a HORRIBLE experience. I originally spoke to the bookkeeper/owner who was such a sweetheart. Then I called back to give her my credit card number and was told that she was not there but that "Bill" would help me. He apparently is her husband/owner/salesman. I tried to ask him about an accessory I wanted for the light I was ordering and he cut me off and said "Look, you better go online and look at the light because if you get here and it's not what you want I AM NOT RETURNING IT FOR YOU! I then explained that I did go online and I did know EXACTLY what I wanted. He then said that he could tell that I was not happy by the "tone" of my voice, but that he knew what he was doing and he has people who don't know what they want order the wrong thing all the time. I told him that the only thing I was unhappy with was his speaking to me so unprofessionally. Then he proceeded to start ranting and raving AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS! The conversation ended there as my time is too important to argue with an idiot. He is by far the rudest salesperson and just plain unhappy person I have ever dealt with! I am an interior designer. I have purchased close to $1M in products for my clients over the last two years so needless to say I deal with a lot of companies. Never have I encountered someone like Bill at Pasadena Lighting. Worst ever. Dean was so unprofessional, calling me "Hon" and "Dear." I should never have gone with his recommended his electrician recommendation. The guy didn't show up on time, so when I called him after waiting an hour, he was clearly asleep. He finally arrived... and then when I left to run a quick errand, I returned to find the guy was asleep on my daughter's bed! So gross and horrible... and too expensive too. On a more positive note, the woman who works there seems decent, read more

I have been going to Pasadena Lighting now for probably 20 years, where I've purchased all my lighting for 3 home remodels. I know everyone there including Dean, Dennis, Lita but particularly Carolyn, who's taken and followed up my orders, calmly troubleshooting problems that invariably arise, while conscientiously trying to save me money along the way. If you value a local business with fair prices and excellent selection, Pasadena Lighting's the place to go. And if you value professional, attentive one-on-one service, ask for Carolyn. read more

First time experience at Pasadena Lighting this afternoon. Went to buy bulbs for my outdoor lights. Male sales person was nice enough. But, when he gave me the total, I knew his pricing was ridiculous. He wanted $50 per box. I left the store empty handed. Drove 15 minutes to another Pasadena store and bought the same box of bulvb for $14 per box. Do the math....you'll see the point. Watch the prices charged at Pasadena Lighting. read more

I was very satisfied with the selection and service. Bottom line, this is a mom and pop operation. They have quality, made in the USA, vendors that they work with, and they have two people to help out on the floor. Two professionals who know a lot about lighting, who will not sell you garbage and who can give you honest and direct answers to your questions. Their showroom has a nice selection of fixtures. Again this is a family owned and operated business, go there with that in mind and you will have a much better experience than you could ever expect to have in one of the chain lighting stores. If you're in the market for lighting try Pasadena Lighting, they are the real deal. read more

This store serves its purpose- to get lighting from high-end manufactures at prices lower than you will get online (Lamps plus, wayfair etc). I have a feeling that, judging from their volume, most of their customers already know what they are looking for when they call/come in. The showroom is not a good representation of the inventory available. The sales people seem a bit bored but really know their stuff. Bottom line- you sacrifice smiling salespersons and glitzy showrooms for good prices and expertise- which I prefer in some situations. read more

I needed many light fixtures, as I have just purchased a condo and the former fixtures were cheezy. I researched online the fixtures I was interested in. When I brought my list in to Pasadena Lighting they were able to beat the online price of every item. They also kindly stored my light fixtures in their facility until after my condo had central air installed and had been repainted. The lights were stored at Pasadena lighting for many weeks. The condo did have one chandelier that was an original 1929 fixture. I think because of its location at the top of the stairs, it had not been replaced. I took it in to Pasadena Lighting and Freddy rewired and repainted it to it's former glory. It will now be the centerpiece of my dining room. I am very happy that I chose to buy from a local "brick and mortar" store rather than online. Great service and great prices!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dean at Pasadena Lighting. From the looks on the outside (tired, dated) I figured they would have nothing I wanted, but was I ever wrong! I purchase all my ceiling fans, living room lights and under cabinet lighting here and got the most courteous and personalized service. The prices were fabulous and, coupled with the top-notch, knowledgeable service, I wouldn't hesitate to tell anyone remodeling to make tracks to Pasadena Lighting. read more

We purchased a ceiling fan from here. Got what we wanted and the service was really good. Dean was very helpful. The best part about it was the referral Dean gave us for our electrician that we hired named Victor Perez at "Beneath the Surface Design & Build". He installed our fan and now is completely designing our lighting for all of our properties. He has been so amazing and we feel like we are in really good hands. He not only knows his business but is very honest and trustworthy. Thanks Pasadena Lighting for the referral, we feel blessed. read more

I've been coordinating & researching light designs, purchasing lighting, and recommending residential as well as commercial clientele to Pasadena Lighting for almost ten years. Carolyn and Dean are the most professional, personable, and accommodating people you'll find in the lighting business. They're detailed, instructive, knowledgable and utterly friendly and fun to work with. They're also fair and will go the extra mile to make the right deal for you. When people can jump on a computer and write negative things because they don't perhaps appreciate or understand the specifics that go into running a high-standard business, it distorts the reputation of those who are actually meticulous experts. I've been running design ideas by Dean and Carolyn for years and they reflect what the industry standard should be! Don't let a couple of bum-reviews put you off. Pasadena Lighting will meet your need and make your house or business a wonderful illuming atmosphere for friends and customers to feel proud of and enjoy. read more

Probably the worst experience I have had shopping for lighting. I went in there looking for a lamp for my new modern bedroom. I asked if they had any modern lamps the man looked like I was on crack. He seemed bothered to have to talk to me. I looked through the store and nothing looked newer than 1992. Everything seemed like it was bought at a garage sale by someone with very bad taste. If you want your house to look like a garage sale reject shop here. otherwise I suggest checking out a nice corporate store. Like ikea, Home Depot or even Target. read more

Dean is such a great guy with great attitude, took great effort to find the almost exact replacement piece for our lighting fixture which I broke by accident. We went to several lighting shops but were told they could not help us, luckily we went to Pasadena Lighting, Dean treated us kindly and earnestly, he checked and measured the broken piece, went though the catalogue and finally find the piece with almost the same measurements and design pattern. He tried very hard searching everywhere and finally located the part for us. We picked it up today and it is the exact right piece for our lighting structure, that is awesome, really made us so happy because we love this lighting fixture so much. Thank you so much, Dean, we are really deeply appreciated. Also, when we were at the store, we saw lots of highly elegant, non-ordinary-looking lighting fixtures, Tiffany light shades and stands for lighting pieces, when we need to shop for lights the next time, Pasadena Lighting is definitely the store we will visit first. Highly recommend it! read more

I had a lovely experience this afternoon at Pasadena Lighting - and on the day after Thanksgiving no less. I went in to ask if they had/sold the little plastic part that turns a table lamp on and off. I broke that piece on a very nice lamp that we use all the time and I was loathe to just get rid of it. I was sure that if I could replace that little part the lamp would be fine again, and I hate throwing perfectly good things away. Anyway, Carolyn helped me. She knew exactly what I needed and she found and fitted the part in about three minutes. She also taught me that it is called a key, which will be handy, because between my husband and I, we manage to break or bust lamp switches about every six months or so in our house. (What gives?) I really appreciate that they were friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. They treated me professionally and kindly, even though what I needed was something FAR cheaper than a major purchase or repair. Also, just fyi, the shop was super clean, tidy, and organized which increases my confidence about how they do things in general. Local businesses and shops like Pasadena Lighting remind me of what it was like when I was a kid and ran errands with my dad, and we had a friendly rapport with many local businesses and services. It made me feel like they were happy to welcome me in, share their knowledge, and help me out. I like that sense of community. Now, if I ever have something big to fix, I will certainly bring them my business. And of course, I'll be back the next time my husband or I break another lamp! read more
