I reached out to Carousel Custom Floors as I saw the were a distributed dealer for Forbo Marmoleum flooring. Initially, when I spoke to Mark over the phone things seemed to go well. He had mentioned I could come by to check samples and also borrow them to see how they looked in my home. I had gone back and forth to the store several times checking out the different colors and patterns to see what worked well in my space and during this initial back and forth I had a great experience with Mark and Arturo. My experience with them went downhill when I reached out to get an estimate for an install. When I had returned some samples at the end of October to Arturo, I had spoke to him about scheduling an estimate. He mentioned that maybe he could schedule something the first week of November depending on availability which was fine since I figured they were busy. The guys came by as scheduled for the estimate and took their measurements and everything seemed to be going well. However, since then I have not received an estimate. I called Arturo twice to follow up on it. The first time he mentioned he'd need another week to work on it so I called back a week later and he told me that he was busy and would try to work on it ASAP. It's been almost another week since then (~2.5 weeks total) and I still haven't seen or heard anything. With other flooring distributors/installers, I was able to get a quote within the week or even the same day. Overall, they're nice people, but if they didn't want to take on a job, I feel like they should be upfront about it. read more

15 years ago we used Carousel we bought marmoleum flooring for our kitchen and bathrooms. They did a nice job but now I have seams coming apart in my kitchen and bathrooms. I have googled that this can be repaired. I emailed Carousel and have left two phone messages asking them to please call me back. I need to find out how and who to call to do the repair work. Carousel has not returned the email or the phone calls very disappointed. Its great when you buy it, but years later if you need help no one calls. I had the old carpet installed 11 years ago by Carousel because of a referral by a friend in the industry. So when I needed to replace it, I went back to them. Arturo was friendly, courteous, and helpful.I chose the carpet, scheduled the installation, and it was completed in 3 1/2 days. It looks great! These installers did a better job than the ones from 11 years ago. The cost was more than I expected, but it's been 11 years with everything that's going on I wasn't that surprised. Called Carousel Floors to get a price quote on installation. I wasn't too concerned about what exact particular tile to be quoted on, so I asked to just use $3 a sq ft. I told the gentlemen on the phone that I would like a quote based off of square footage for 70 sq ft. He insisted that I should come out and see what tile I would like. I explained that I was just interested in getting a price quote and the particular tile was not of importance to me at the current moment. I asked for a quote again and he again insisted that I should come in because it is hard to quote a price if he doesn't know exactly what tile I want. I want a tile in the $3 a square foot range! Then I want to know what you would charge to install that into a 70 sq ft area. There is no additional information to need in order for me to have to come into the physical store. If you could have just quoted me a price you have a high chance of gaining my business, but if you are going to be irrational and incompetent about something so simple I can't imagine what it would be like to actually have to go through the entire process with this business. To tell me that you can not quote a price unless I am in the store is ridiculous. Especially since I had just called two other local places and received a quote in a matter of a minute. No hassle. I may have just gotten the wrong person on the phone today, but that's all it takes. Listen to what your customer needs. read more

Overall great experience at Carousel Custom Floors. We got new floors and the whole process flowed very nicely. The job couldn't have been done any more efficiently. There was really no waste in time. Everything they do is quick and very accommodating. You want an estimate? They'll show up at your door the next day. Need to take home some samples? Go right ahead. Take as many as you want. You want to know when they can start working? They'll give you an exact date and they stick to it. They are very time conscious once they're ready to install the goods. They get on their knees and work away like there is no tomorrow. I never felt for a second they were goofing off. Everyone here I've dealt with has a mellow, caring attitude. There's nothing pushy about how they treat their customers. It was a stress-free experience all the way. They also had great pricing. I have recently had a bad experience at Carousel. I ordered a large rug pad, which needed to be cut to size. I was told I would receive a call when it was in - probably Thursday or Friday. Anxious to put my living room back together, I waited. On Saturday morning I called to see what happened, and was told I would receive a call back shortly. At 10 minutes to closing, after no return call, I called again. They found the pad - so I was not called when it originally came in. I left immediately to pick it up, and before it was loaded I confirmed the pad size. Well, after carrying the heavy pad from the car, I discovered that altho the pad length was fine, the width had not been cut and was several inches longer than the rug itself - not the size that was confirmed before I left the store. I understand that mistakes happen, but when I called to explain what happened, I never received any kind of apology for the inconvenience. Which it was. Very disappointed with my experience. read more

We had to replace the bamboo floor in our town home. With so many types of flooring to choose from, Arturo listened to what I wanted and showed me a number of choices. I found what I wanted and an installation date was set. The crew showed up on time and couldn't have been nicer. They cleaned up each day, too. My floor looks fabulous! Carousel provides great customer service. The employees are very knowledgeable about ALL the products they carry and their bids are fair. Several years after they installed carpets and flooring in my house (about $25K worth), I called because I needed some repairs on the bamboo flooring, and the carpet they installed is lumping up and needs re-stretching, and I was told that they don't do repairs. They gave me the name of an installer who hasn't bothered to call me back. Don't expect any service or care from these people after they get your money. read more

We recently had Carousel Carpets make a family room rug for us. It came out beautifully and we just love it. There was a tiny problem in one place on a bound edge, and Marv Schoenrock, our terrific salesman, was very helpful in getting the problem resolved beautifully and quickly. We were so impressed with the quality of the rug and the service that we went ahead and bought carpeting for our bedrooms and hallway just before the Holidays. Marv was able to get it all delivered and installed quickly. Although Carousel is not the cheapest place to buy carpets in Pasadena, their quality of product, installation, and staff support are very much worth the difference. We had a great experience with Carousel and we highly recommend them. (Their installers are fantastic!!) Other friends did much the same as we with a different Pasadena store, and 6 months later they are having problems with the quality and the installation of their new carpets. I'm a very savvy shopper and I know when a salesperson is just trying to make a sale for their commission and don't really care about you. This place is 180 degrees away from that. Their carpeting choices are gorgeous, the patience and professionalism Marvin has is impeccable, their prices are competitive and installation!!! I can't say enough about the guys who installed the carpeting. Professional with a capital P. They moved furniture, they were quiet, the installation is perfect beyond belief. I never thought I would be so happy with a carpeting installation. They hauled off the old stuff and vacuumed the new, moving all the furniture into place exactly where it was. My husband and I didn't have to do a thing. Arturo is wonderful with questions and color choices. Other carpeting store should take a lesson from Marvin and Arturo. The best. Period. read more
