Very pricey for the experience received. Great Skate charges for everything and are entitled. I…read morewon't get into the actual Great Skate skating experience, as that I'll leave up to the grandchildren to review if they feel like they want to. I'm giving Great Skate the second star because Great Skate at least refunded 2 of the 3 grandchildren's fees since 2 of the 3 refused to skate once getting past the Great Skate entrance and seeing what it was like inside. I was there just to bring the kids. I did not skate; I was just 1) a Great Skate spectator, 2) the source of payment to Great Skate and 3) to be responsibile for the kids while they were visiting Great Skate. Nonetheless, I had to sign a Great Skate waiver and I was not allowed to sign the Great Skate waiver without providing an email address. I was more than willing to sign the Great Skate waiver, provide a driver's license, provide my passport, give fingerprints, whatever to just to get inside of Great Skate. But, because the Great Skate waiver is online I could not progress thru the Great Skate waiver without me first forking over my email address. Otherwise, I would be denied the ability to be responsible for the kids. Rather than wait outside the doors of Great Skate while the kids went in by themselves, I gave up my email address . . . just to sit on a bench and watch. Yep, now I'm getting spammed with a relentless barrage of Great Skate email solicitations. They are not about a good CX, just generating more revenue, bolstering the Great Skate spam list and managing data via a rigid Great Skate platform.

Imagine a pair of 5 gallon plastic buckets, but made small enough in diameter that you can wrap them tightly around your legs from the knee down. Attach a blade to the bottom of each one, and this is exactly what you get when you rent skates there. No leather or fabric of any kind, the entire skate is literally nothing but hard plastic. No flexibility, no control - it's like going out on the ice on stilts. Yes, extremely uncomfortable - but that's not even the worst part. The blades were so dull that I could not get my right skate to bite into the ice. I spent more than an hour using only the left skate for traction, with the right skate sliding crossways the whole time. I even exchanged them, and the second pair was no better. I noticed that anyone doing any decent skating had their own skates, and might very well suffer an injury if they tried skating like that with these rentals. Since this was the rink that once housed the Sundogs (a former CHL hockey team), I was expecting that at least the ice would be in good shape. Disappointed again - any ice within 3 feet of the boards was not smooth at all, and you could see where water had gathered there and frozen in streams. I intend to continue skating, but with my own skates and a full ensemble of protective gear. And with their skating season lasting less than two months, I'll have maybe two weeks to skate by the time I feel I can do it safely. It was a great place to WATCH hockey games, but I don't dare try to skate again on those ridiculous skates they rent.

Stage Left Productions - New intimate venue at 5930 West Greenway Road Suite 1A, Glendale AZ 85306

I let that go at the time, assuming it was an isolated issue. Unfortunately, I am now having a similar and even more concerning experience. I recently purchased tickets for an upcoming production and only discovered that the company is listed as "temporarily closed" when I visited the website to confirm the address. No notification was ever sent to inform ticket holders that the production would no longer be taking place. Since learning this, I have reached out multiple times to request information about when I would receive a refund for my ticket. To date, I have received no response. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service is extremely disappointing. Customers should not have to actively investigate whether a paid event is still happening, nor should they be left without responses regarding refunds for canceled productions.

I really enjoyed "Grand Horizons" with its well written dialogue and the perfect casting. Layers of each character peeled away as more and more was revealed about them, and I gained a deeper understanding of each. My "loyalty" to certain characters kept shifting which made it interesting and just like life and its complexities. Much success in your new home Stage Left!
