The Parr Arms is situated next to the church in the picturesque cobbled village of Grappenhall. On Monday evening I sat down with 10 friends and we all had a wonderful meal. The ambience was warm ( very warm close to the cosy log fires) and the welcome was very friendly. The specials board reflected the fact it was national pie week, which tempted most of us to try the very tasty home cooked pies - I chose the delicious steak and stilton pie and was not disappointed. Also ordered and enjoyed were the beer battered fish and chips, liver and onions, fish crumble, mixed grill & sea bass fillets. All portions were large so there was only enough room to share a couple of puddings and cheese boards. The staff looked after us very well, supplying us with many bottles of the decently priced house wine and we all had such a lovely time we have promised to return very soon. If you have not visited the Parr Arms for a couple of years you will be very pleased with the changes the new management has made. read more
