Good things: We thought the bathrooms and showers were very clean. The food at Moes was good as were the drinks. The store was well-stocked with toys, food, and clothing. The pool and jacuzzi were great, and the kids loved them. Kids' activities and games were plentiful, and they also enjoyed the playground. Staff was helpful in the office. Security was present and doing lots of rounds the first two nights (did not see them the busy Friday night). The camp was VERY, impressively, quiet at night. Middling things (mind you, the campground is not in control of these!): the sand is not soft sand like at the coastal beaches. Kids will probably need shoes for the shells and rocks, and it's packed super hard. The campground is under the flight path of John Wayne airport, so expect to know when it's 7 am each day since that's when the planes begin roaring overhead. Not-so-great things: the sites are super close together. Yes, you will be packed in like sardines, especially in the "standard" back row sites, which were completely filled when we visited. It is hard to back in when trucks are parked along the road, in front of the tiny sites- there is VERY little room for error. The sites are ALL DIRT, which I did not think would be so bad until I lived it. (Never again, unless I buy some turf at some point.) When campers dump their waste, expect to get some whiffs. (Many reviews note something about the angle of the dump/hose- we don't have a bathroom in our trailer so I can't attest to that issue.) Finally, the single biggest deal breaker for us was the allowed use of wood burning fire pits at sites. Since everyone is crammed in there, people burning wood on Friday night resulted in the paths and trailers and even the bathrooms being filled with smoke. They should only allow gas burning fire pits! So yeah- if we return it will only ever be mid week and preferably in the off-season.

I hope management takes customer experience more seriously moving forward and provides better staff training.

They were kind enough to check on us when we weren't there at almost 7:30. I explained the situation and they were understanding. I called later to give the night attendant our ETA, she was waiting by at the entrance for us when we pulled in! She showed us to our site and was very descriptive of what we needed to do. She was confident in her trailer parking abilities too, she was willing to give us directions as far as we needed. Though my husband didn't as he drives a trailer all day every day. She said just take care of everything in the morning, made sure we were good and left is to finish setting up. The next morning was quiet and slow paced as we got moving and started making breakfast. We finally made it to the office and the lady there was kind,quick and informative! We went to the pool and hung out for a few then played some mini golf l. They have all kinds of items to change the game up each round/hole. My kids enjoyed getting to use their imagination. The bathrooms are very clean as well as everything else. The maintainer person even went two spots away from us with intent to use the blower, saw us and said he didn't want to stir things up for us. Later that night we were riding scooters and the maintenance man told my daughter "let's race"! She enjoyed that. The hardest part is probably having a 1 year old who just wants to be free but turns black every time he touches the pavement and 85 degrees with 87% humidity The location is great as well! Angels stadium, Disney and so many other things. If I had to choose somewhere to stay close by and save money by using the trailer, this is where I'd stay! You don't even realize you are in the middle of a very busy city! This park is family friendly and slow paced. The amount of cars moving around was so little I let the kids ride around without me. Well done Orangeland! Oh! I forgot to add! They seem to strive to be disability friendly! Now I'm not disabled and don't know everything required but they have ramps in all the public places making it easier to get places. They do not have a pool chair.

But, I can see what people are talking about the way they answer questions. This is a very spacious campground. We had a huge site for our 44' 5th wheel, dually, and a suburban. Bathrooms are old but clean. We didn't use them just looked. The little store is decent. The key card system is dated and you have to finesse it to work. 30 minutes to Disneyland as that's what we were there for. I feel $90 a night is reasonable. No wifi or cable but we have our own onboard. Verizon and T-Mobile was excellent. Will stay again. Hopefully for a week next time.

We were told to get there early before the Los Trancos parking lot is full. We got there on a Saturday around 10:30am and there was only one row in the back with open spots. We opted to take the short walk downhill to the beach rather than wait to take the shuttle. It was a nice walk and there's a cool tunnel along the way too. The visitor center and gift shop were very nice. Everyone working there was super friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they love their jobs. The beautiful beach was busy but clean. There's a nice restaurant there with great Bloody Mary's and food. It does get busy on the weekends.

I was about disappointed in the state of the camper. The awning was in disrepair and required constant adjustment so we wouldn't rip it further. The interior was decent, everything you could need was provided: pots, dishes, soap, blankets, towels. The common area provided flush toilets and showers (coins need to be purchased via cc at the kiosk). But maintenance on the facilities would be greatly appreciated. The spot comes with 2 parking spaces and proximity to the beach isn't too bad. The center of the campsite has a shared pit and lawn games. Each site gets its own fire pit and gazebo/picnic table. There's enough room to add an additional tent for more guests. For the price, I would just go tent camping, but for those who don't feel like packing and setting up, this is a good alternative. The staff were a bit less friendly then last time as well. We were not allowed to set up a hammock like we have in the past.

I have had this place bookmarked forever and finally experienced the Santa Ana River Trail. I live…read morein the neighboring apartments by the Angel Stadium so I have no idea why it has taken me almost two years to finally experience this gem! Entrance: Multiple entrances but the one most convenient to my apartment is right by Angel stadium parking lot across from golden road which is DuPont and Orangewood. If you don't live in the nearby apartments then I recommend parking by golden road brewery and walking over. You will see bike pathways with entrances (attached photo). Otherwise, the bike trail has quite a few bikers so don't be that annoying pedestrian that is in the way. Walk along the side, lol. If you enter by Angel Stadium the trail to the left will take you down to Honda center, roughly 1.2 miles, maybe a little less. Otherwise, the trail circles back and takes you down to Orange, and then some. I stopped around 4 miles since it started to drizzle but would love to see how long this trail can go! Tip--they cleaned up this trail tremendously. I saw no homeless people or anybody loitering. I felt safe going by myself on a Sunday morning.

So in my defense, we are fully contained and have a full kitchen, flushing toilet and all our own tanks so no problem right. Nope, apparently campers are Ghetto. And they turned us away. Mind you we have no pop ups, and we are brand new. This is ridiculous. They did refund our money but that was not much of a consolation prize when we had to scramble to find a place to go. So we ended up at Bolsa Chica SB for one night thankfully. And landed in San Juan Capistrano for the next 4 days. It is just stressful to plan as it is happening in real time. Maneuvering the government websites looking for open places. Don't waste your time with these fancy people because they are obviously full of themselves with their parking lot RV park next to the stacks in Huntington . There is free Wi-Fi; however, streaming might have issues when the park is full. Free laundry room! Well kept and modern located with the park restrooms. Our Verizon wireless router seems to have issues between 6 and 8 PM but works fairly good otherwise. Great T-Mobile 5G coverage! There's a small NEX within walking distance. No Restaurant on base however they do offer lunch at the gym/sailor Center during the work week. The gym is a very short walk from the park and is open 24/7! They offer a variety of fitness programs if you would like to participate. Very modern facility and equipment! There are several wonderful restaurants in the area! There's even a great little dive bar called Dave's Other Place where many Sailors stop on their way to Main Street when in port.
