First time staying here and it was for 4 nights. Was a little worried about the reviews of rude people. I will match energy so I'm glad I didn't have to deal with it. But, I can see what people are talking about the way they answer questions. This is a very spacious campground. We had a huge site for our 44' 5th wheel, dually, and a suburban. Bathrooms are old but clean. We didn't use them just looked. The little store is decent. The key card system is dated and you have to finesse it to work. 30 minutes to Disneyland as that's what we were there for. I feel $90 a night is reasonable. No wifi or cable but we have our own onboard. Verizon and T-Mobile was excellent. Will stay again. Hopefully for a week next time. read more

We stayed in cabin #30. It's perfect for 2 or 3 people...our family of 4 was squished, but since it was only 1 night, it was fine. The bunk beds were much more comfortable than we thought they'd be. The futon was pretty firm. There is nothing in there, I mean nothing! No towels, no bedding, no soap, no plates/dishes/utensils, no stove. What does it have? Toilet paper, tiny sink, tiny microwave, mini fridge, ac unit, floor heater. Campground was huge! The pool wasn't open b/c of the time we went, the playground was awesome, the roads are all paved so our bikes and scooters were perfect, many grass areas everywhere, and the hiking trails were fun. The OC Ropes Course was awesome too...get the phone number in office to make an appointment. My only complaint would be the freeway noise. The cabins were right next to it, so I could hear it most of the night...it wasn't a "white noise" for me b/c I'm a light sleeper. read more

I saw this RV park on a friends Facebook post. We've been looking for a location that was near Orange County, but wasn't in the city. After reading many of the reviews and seeing other friends enjoy it we decided to try it out. For the cost and what you get was a great value. The sites were very quiet and well maintained. The bathrooms are definitely county Park essentials but they get the job done. The front office/store are very friendly and nice folks. Make sure if you've never been here bring $20 cash so you can put a deposit down and get the gate access card. That's one thing we missed from our phone reservation. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and plan on coming back for a longer term. There is a park, amphitheater, pool and much more for families. It's located right off the 91 freeway and literally a five minute drive to major restaurants and shopping. But it's tucked away within a reserve so you still get that camping feel. It's 12:45 AM, I'm sitting inside my tent that is now filled with water from the sprinklers that have been spraying for the last 45 minutes. We are camping in the youth group area and not only my tent, but several of my troop tents are also soaked. There is no emergency/after hours number or contact at the office. If I had a suggestion, we tried to get a cabin and were told they were all booked. We never saw anyone using the cabins. If there was a big cancelation, I suggest a waiting list. Tried to enter park for an event. Went up to gate there was no one there. A female worker with red hair and glasses came out with an attitude questioning us. Asking us why didn't we go inside to pay, we informed her we didn't know (this was our first time here). We asked if this was the correct event she said yes. She had us enter park to the side so we can go inside to pay. We parked waiting to confirm with our friend if was the correct spot which it wasn't. Worker came out saying I've been waiting for you inside what's going on. Questioning us if we were just for the day or over night. After telling her it was only for the day she began to say it's 40 for the night after we just told her for the day. She had the WORST attitude! When calling her out about it she giggled saying she wasn't. We just ended up leaving sadly. She needs to be retrained. read more

I have been going to Canyon RV aka Featherly for years with family and friends. My wife and I have been going together as our family and part of a bigger group for the past 5 years. Something came up and we had to cancel our reservation for Memorial Day weekend. It was last second and I understand their policy is 7 days but this is. It just a normal cancel. We wanted to get the 5er on the road and get away for the week, but no luck getting into the favored coastal campgrounds in SoCal. We did, however, find open spaces here in the Canyon RV Park. Nestled off the 91 freeway at Gypsum Canyon offramp, we can enjoy the solitude RV camping affords. Yes, we can hear the freeway nearby, but the campground itself is scenic and serene. No water flowing in the Santa Ana River bed this time of year, but we are enjoying the view nonetheless. I would not hesitate to recommend this park to anyone, anytime. Oh, and we have fire pits on all the sites I have seen. read more

Beautiful grounds. I've stayed here a couple months and it's just awesome. I've been in quite a few of the sites and they've all been great. I'm not obsessed with my spot near the ropes course but even that's not too shabby. I'll admit, some of the staff can be a little abrupt, but the amount of interaction there is so minimal that it's really not a big deal. My kids and I have loved the pool and I appreciate the commercial laundry machines that handle business. I'm especially appreciative of the bike path that runs along the river and drops right into Canyon RV! I rode it daily and loved it. I did have an issue with ants at one point and grabbed a service tech and he came and spread some poison around and it nipped it in the bud. I will definitely be back. read more

Honestly, this is a beautiful campground. Yes it is by the freeway but I imagine people know that before booking reservations. The staff was incredibly helpful very friendly and not rude. The only problem I have here is that there are boxes on the ground with squirrel poison. I get that ground squirrels will tear up the lawn, but putting poison out? Not only can it be damaging the Hawks and other birds of prey in the area, but what if a dog picked up one of these dead squirrels? I know dogs are supposed to be on a leash, but let's face it everyone of us that has dogs inevitably has one of those dogs get out. Not only that, but these squirrels are running around with poison all over their bodies. This poison gets on the ground and can get on dogs feet especially. A few licks of poison and a small Chihuahua would become very ill and possibly even die. And what about children rolling around on the grass? Children are playing in the same areas with squirrel poison on the grass! My mind can't even bear to think this thought..... I added a photo of the poison boxes that literally say keep away from children. I just do not understand in what universe this is OK?????????? I mean, we know children are curious. These boxes cannot only be unscrewed, but they can be picked up and dumped out. How many times has this happened? Maybe kids have gotten sick, and their parents have no idea why. This is just stupid! And incredibly hazardous. There literally is a section under the rules and regulations that says it's a felony to harm any of the animals as it is a nature preserve. Isn't squirrel poison not only harming the squirrels, but other birds of prey? I'm going to start making some phone calls now, and apparently if they are licensed then it is OK. But is it really OK? Think about it, A NATURE PRESERVE IS POISONING SQUIRRELS. let that sink in... In no way, shape or form should this be happening. Be very aware ...... How many children have gotten sick from touching the grass that has squirrel poison on it? read more

I stay at Canyon RV as often as I can. I live in Orange, about 10-15 minutes away. With all the negative reviews, I feel I should defend this park. Yes, the staff is a bit rough around the edges. But, I find them very helpful. If you come in with an attitude, you may get some back. I understand some need to be pampered. I'll go to a five-star hotel if that's what I'm looking needing. Also, it takes a lot to hurt my feelings. ANTS, YES, new campers, ants are a big part of camping. If you don't like ants, don't buy an RV. And bring Ajax! Bugs and mosquitoes. Bring essential oil, mint, eucalyptus, etc. This place has some great sites at a reasonable price. Freeway noise is evident since it's next to a freeway. "go figure." If you are looking to test out a new RV & you live nearby, this is a perfect place. Trust me when I say this. Having an RV requires lots of patients. Things will go wrong, people will piss you off, shit will break, and sites will suck. Just enjoy camping & leave the complaints elsewhere. Love canyon RV! read more

My family loves Canyon RV Park! We have only been RVing for a little less than 1 year but Canyon is our favorite. The spacing of slots is nothing short of gracious and generous (they could have crammed many more spaces if money was all they are about), the grass and trees give this place so much depth and beauty and we have found the staff to be patient and accommodating. We have seen some ants but are big fans of Diatomaceous Earth (available at Home Depot). It is not a poison and is super pet and kid safe and ants HATE IT. If you haven't been here come try it. PRICING - This particular park is just over $100 per night. I'm not sure if each campsite has a different price, I would guess that they are all the same because the truth is there really isn't a good spot or a bad spot at this particular camp ground. There really isn't anything to look at except for the park itself. It's inside of a canyon up against the Santa Ana river bed surrounded by trees that are probably 60 to 70 years old. We have ended up with a great spot every time and to be honest with you all I ever request is to be as close to the river as possible and as far away from the freeway because one of the downside to this park is that you can here the freeway all day and all night long. CAMPING - The camping is very good, again I've been here I think five or six times and we've had a good spot every time. Some of the spots are side-by-side but most of them have distance in between them, the trees are beautiful, the grass is green and for the most park this RV park is super clean and is one of my favorites . Every site has full hook ups plus a fire pit and if I remember correctly everything's pretty level but unfortunately you are parked on gravel. Still this is a great place to camp and I highly recommend it, especially when you compare it to the local campsites in this area. RESTROOMS & SHOWERS - The restrooms and showers are good but not great. Everything was clean, the water was warm and there was water pressure. I didn't like the toilets, they were stainless steel, kind of like a State Park but they had great showers and that is a major plus if you ask me. THINGS TO DO -there really isn't a lot to do at this particular location and that's actually a good thing. The park is not huge but it's a big park and we walked the dogs every day and depending on how long you want to go for a walk there are walking trails outside of the park literally that will take you to the beach and back. There is a rope course that can be rented, I don't think it's part of the park but they have all the information. If you have a big enough group you can actually rent time with the owner and it's really awesome. We were on one end of the park and we had family at the other end of the park so our golf cart and our electric scooters were used constantly to go back-and-forth. I brought my mountain bike and actually rode it all the way to the beach, I think it was 26 miles. There are some great mountain bike trails within 15 minutes of Canyon RV Park so if you're in to mountain biking bring it and search online for the great trails. The owner of the park is really in to cars. From hot rods to mini trucks back in the 1990s there's always fun events going on. It's very difficult to get a spot during these busy times but if you're lucky enough to do so it's a really fun weekend. One time we were here and they had a whole bunch of vintage RV buses that stayed the weekend, it was an awesome show. OTHER CAMPERS - Everyone in our section was really nice, we ended up getting to know this guy named Bob. He was a retired police officer and I guess he comes to the park all the time. We sat with him one night by the fire drinking Jack Daniels, it was one of those nights I'll never forget. We also met someone 10 years ago with an RV exactly like ours and to this day we still follow each other on social media. There are families and also a lot of couples. From time to time there are a lot of full timers and some of their rigs are pretty nasty but that is just part of the RV thing, They have quiet hours and for the most part everyone recognizes this. We had an awesome time and we will be back. CUSTOMER SERVICE - OK so this park stays really busy all year long. Between the full timers, the families and all the car shows that they do usually see out. Now because of this the customer service is not the best. Most the time they don't even answer their phones, the place is understaffed so you get voicemail 90% of the time and just recently we left a message four days in a row and never got a callback. I think this really sucks but at the same time I get it, if I had a business that was sold out months in advance would I want to pay a couple extra employees 50 grand each to tell everyone sorry were full. Maybe a better voicemail message would work, even a way to text someone but again I understand, it's kind of the sign of the times these days. OVERALL "5 STARS" At the end of the day this place is great. So great that we are going back. We have reservations for three families I think the first week of June. We can't wait to go back because this is one of our favorite locations to camp. If you live in Orange County or near Orange County and you want something fun and local this is the place to be. Also if you're coming from out of town and you want to go to Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm technically this RV park is your absolute best choice. read more

It's a nice campground. There's a pool, practically zero shade, but if you go there early or late enough that shouldn't matter anyway. Staff is friendly. The store carries all kinds of camp items like firewood, bags of ice, etc. No milk though, just to mention. The Rope Course there is reserve-based, but if you're a camper there they will try to squeeze you in, no guarantees though. Full hookups, you also get your own fire pit and picnic table. I really want to like this park because it is very spacious, green, and everything you think an rv park should be. However, my first red flag was not being able to get anyone to call me back so I had to drive to the park to speak to the ladies at the front desk to try and make a reservation. One lady in particular acts like she doesn't want to accommodate anyone and you have to let her talk to you any kind of way in order to get anywhere as far as getting a spot. But I played their game and got a reservation. Then within the first day I realized how noisy it was because it's right on the freeway. So the noise of traffic would wake me up every morning around 4 am and I didn't get good rest for my entire stay. The other issue I had were cockroaches and other bugs and critters inside my coach constantly! So unsettling and gross. I won't stay there again. read more

We have been here several times. I'm not sure if there are new owners. Park as a whole is pretty decent. Nice spots, swimming pool, and full hook ups. Very reasonable rates as far as this area. But it would be really nice if they had a atm inside of their store. Since when you stay during the week they want a $20 cash deposit per vehicle. They just tell you to drive up to the next exit and get cash. This seems really odd since companies will put them there for no cost to the owner. Not sure if they don't know that or if they don't care that they put out their customers. But all and all a pretty good place to go for a quick get away. read more

This campground was very nice. I love the spacious sites and the full grown shade trees. Such a nice change to see green grass. The office people were friendly and very helpful, and the grounds and bathrooms were all well kept. My only dislike was the freeway noise. But that's not the fault of the campgrounds, one night they were working on the freeway. So lots of scraping noises and beep beeps from the large equipment. Saw a few coyotes wondering around, just don't leave you animals unattended. The campground is close to bike trails. So we took advantage of those, one trail is right next to the freeway. So a bit noisy. But such a nice smooth bike path. They have a pool. But didn't use, and a cool looking rope obstacle course, that you can use if you make an appointment ( and I think free) I didn't get a chance to see anyone on it. But it would be fun to watch. My friends stayed in one of the cabins. It was as small, and the beds weren't too comfy, but reasonable on the price.. But if you rent one. Try to get the two that aren't as close to the freeway.. much quieter. Give the place a try... read more
