We spent 3 nights here in August of 2026 and were delighted that we did. It's an oasis in downtown Oceanside. The staff are delightful, the resort is very will organized and well maintained. There's a locked gate to enter a very short path to Buccaneer Beach. Spaces are concrete paved and the utilities are perfectly positioned. My only comment would be that there's not much room between spaces so it's tight, but still very maneuverable. Keep in mind, this is prime real estate close to the beach, so it's expected that they need to make the best use of their acreage. Paradise is a very neat place to get away.

I personally believe Karen could have a better approach by not having a Nasty ATTITUDE at bringing up check out time to customers that being in revenue to city of HB. We're not children and we do understand rules and guideline. I've been called on a paid reservation- with people over staying and causing us to have a later check in. We don't make a big deal about it. We understand. Mind you park has several vacancy opening, Karen called me back to ask me if I wanted to re- book with her. I believe this is also not part of HB guidelines to book with a personal of HB. ( from what I was told in past )

You can walk along the beach or cross the street for some food and cocktails, and there are public bathrooms available. The lot is gate guarded and the lady that works it is SO friendly and helpful - totally engaging and sweet. Plus the people that camp there seem to always be so nice.

Although I didn't this time around walk to the beach you must if the weather permits. If it's not too hot or too cold. It's a short walk maybe a mile. It's not paved and in some parts it is narrow. It's along side the road but a barrier does separate you from the road. But the beach is beautiful. My campsite on this visit was in the first grouping. I was at campsite 38 which had a water spigot and electrical hookup. Also at the site is a fire ring and wooden picnic table. It had a good size dirt area for a couple of tents. During this visit this time of the year were plenty of squirrels running around. Now I have heard stories of car cables being chewed up at other campgrounds so there could be that possibility here too. When we went for a walk, we noticed a blinking device under someone's truck. Not sure if that was to deter critters. So the dirt area at the site is not level in some spots and there are squirrel holes as well. Wood is available at check in for $10 a bundle. Occasionally the rangers will drive by checking if anyone needs to purchase wood. You have privacy on both sides with the help of some shrubs. Behind the site 38 it is open, but shrubs from other sites help with blocking their site. Since I had privacy on the sides I chose to set up my hammock on one side. The restrooms/showers are just about 7 sites away. Restrooms are pretty clean and showers. Showers are coin operated and they do have a coin machine at one side of the building. I did see the staff there in the mornings cleaning the restrooms. Garbage pick up could be daily at 8 or 9 am. We were there a couple of days when they did pick ups. Staff at the time of my check-in didn't leave a good impression. But I heard the person ahead was not so nice. You will hear traffic noise from the freeway and occasionally artillery training from Camp Pendleton. Views are nice from the sites on the outside of the circle. i would definitely camp here again.

Our original site was just swarmed with bees, luckily there was another site available. Easy transition. The bell tent was clean, lots of space to change , sleep 4 pple. They supply towels, board games, fans, and couple lanterns ( later i found out i could charge me phone with) we also added the kitchen kit. Has really everything you need even a coffee perculator. They included a tub and soap and dish towel. We over packed . But had a great time by fire. No cell service, very spotty. Beach is only 1.5 miles away. And they are so close to bathroom and showers. Buy tokens 3 was plenty. Staff was so nice and helpful. The Holidays Camp was very attentive nice.

However, I was extremely disappointed by the inconsistency regarding their pet policy. Before booking, I reviewed the campground rules online and understood that pit bulls were not allowed on the property. Because of this policy, I made the difficult and expensive decision to board my own dog elsewhere during our stay. To my surprise, throughout the weekend I saw multiple pit bulls openly walking around the campground. I brought my concerns to the front desk, and the only explanation given was that some guests do not disclose that they have pets and simply arrive with them, which is not an acceptable excuse. While the staff apologized, nothing changed, and the dogs remained on the property throughout our stay. My frustration is not necessarily about the dogs themselves, as I am also a pit bull owner and lover, but about the lack of enforcement and consistency of the stated rules. If the policy is not actually enforced, guests should not be expected to spend additional money boarding their pets based on the information provided online. Unfortunately, because of this experience, we will most likely not be returning for future RV camping trips.

If you're looking for a super beginner friendly campsite, I'd definitely recommend this! It's super close to the city, so close that you can hear and see the train go by. Restrooms are decent, easy access to the beach, and the campsites are pretty cookie cutter. If you were looking for an actual camping experience, I'd probably wouldn't recommend this! You're super close to your neighbors, like back-to-back almost. It really felt more like you're camping on the side of the road. Since we ended up doing a day trip there instead, and hanging out a friend's campsites, it wasn't that bad. Our site was pretty spacious, and our neighbors were pretty friendly. Guest parking wasn't an issue, and they do have security checking the areas often. We paid about $15 for a day pass.

We stayed at the cottages for 3 nights and 4 days and overall it was an amazing experience. One…read morenight we did have to evacuate due to a tsunami warning but they were great about it and refunded 50% of that night which we really appreciated. We booked a 1 bedroom cottage and it was perfect for our family of three. It was spacious and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed including a gas stove and oven, microwave, full size fridge, toaster, and plenty of dishes and utensils. The bathroom was large and handicap accessible which was a nice touch. The beach is very clean and there is a playground for kids that is very well kept which was great for our little one. There are mostly RV spots here so the cottages are limited but definitely worth booking if you want more space and comfort. One thing to note is that it can get VERY loud at night due to trains constantly passing through and sometimes military night training in the area which can make quite a bit of noise. Other than that we really didn't have any complaints. We would definitely love to come back and stay here again!

There is free Wi-Fi; however, streaming might have issues when the park is full. Free laundry room! Well kept and modern located with the park restrooms. Our Verizon wireless router seems to have issues between 6 and 8 PM but works fairly good otherwise. Great T-Mobile 5G coverage! There's a small NEX within walking distance. No Restaurant on base however they do offer lunch at the gym/sailor Center during the work week. The gym is a very short walk from the park and is open 24/7! They offer a variety of fitness programs if you would like to participate. Very modern facility and equipment! There are several wonderful restaurants in the area! There's even a great little dive bar called Dave's Other Place where many Sailors stop on their way to Main Street when in port.
