The maple pecan is an absolute party - in my opinion, it's the best of all the frosted options. However, their quality is so consistent and fresh and texturally delightful that my favorite combination at this point is a plain jane or simple cinnamon sugar dusted doughnut paired with their hot chocolate. You didn't have to "try" to taste the coconut; it was packed in there. I love the fluffy, layered donuts here! The strawberry donut had nice flavor with a sweet strawberry glaze and fresh strawberries on top. I also liked the lemon donut with a tangy and sweet glaze. Honesty I don't see the hype, the doughnuts are extremely doughy and most only have a small bit of icing or toppings and then you're just stuck eating a giant piece of plain fried dough, I think I need to maybe opt for a filled one because the 2 I had were not very good. Also, I wanted to try a savory doughnut, but they said, oh there's 10 ahead of you and we have just 1 oven so if you want to wait 45 minutes you can order. They are advertising their "savory" doughnuts at the front of the store pretty heavily but if they only have 1 oven, it's pretty hard to keep up with demand so yeah I'm not gonna wait 30-45 minutes for a "savory" doughnut so that's a bummer. This is the second location I've been to, and we visited on Mother's Day so it was a bit busy and the cases on the lean side. But, our cro-nuts were fresh and delicious. Service is pretty fast. The coffee drinks are not remarkable, a bit on the syrupy side for me. Merch is nicely designed. We've invested in a tee and some glass. But, center stage are these yummy sweets. Owner was rude to me, had family working (grandma) and family/kids in the store. I came in and bought $65 of donuts and she was rude/dismissive/uninterested for no reason. My favs were the blueberry, French toast (maple), and the coconut creme. The texture is croissant like, light and fluffy. I did like the blueberry more than the strawberry just bc it had more icing on it. The strawberry was kinda light and I think most of the flavor is in the icing. I love French toast bc it's their maple one without bacon or nuts. The churro had cinnamon and a bit of chocolate on it. The coconut creme was surprisingly good. I witnessed a roach come out of the register and crawl around the entrance where they keep milk. The newest donut shop on the block isn't like the rest. Parlor doughnuts offers a variety of different flavors and they appear to be constantly churning out batches through most of the day. I showed up near closing at 5PM on a Saturday and they were still preparing fresh doughnuts. The baked goods are closer to a croissant or cronut with fillings and/or toppings. Prices are a bit higher than your typical donut shop, but less than what you may pay at other artisanal donut shops like Sidecar. The goods here are definitely worth the calories. So please make your stomach and waistline happy and give them a good reason to grow. All the donuts are flaky and have layers to the dough, which gives it an excellent chew and consistency. Glazes are amazing, blueberry tastes like blueberries and raspberry tastes like raspberries. Whipped cream is fresh and banana pudding filling was amazing in the banana cream pie donut. I was excited to try their vegan donuts but was very disappointed. I got the sandy beach vegan donut with the vanilla base ($4.25). It was supposed to taste like a cinnamon roll they say. It was very dry and flavorless. My boyfriend had the campfire donut ($3.95) and it was way too sweet and lacked flavor as well. Such a disappointment. Service was slow. I do not recommend this place. Their new location in Southlake is one of my regular stops whenever I head towards Trader Joe's. The shop is not small but not large. It's clean and has ample parking. They had three flavors when I was in which allows you to try a small version of three popular donuts. I hope they rotate the minis flavors.
