Placed an online order for pick up at the drive thru. Automatic bonus points for having that as an option especially since I have littles who love to talk while I'm ordering and I didn't want to take them out of the car. Since it was an OLO, it was a brief but friendly encounter at the window. The gentleman who handed me the box didn't seem annoyed, rushed, or zoned out. He was patient with me, friendly, and smiled! As for the doughnuts, being called a doughnut is somewhat misleading as it is a step above your regular doughnut. They are a good size and the topping didn't overwhelm and take away from the layered doughnut itself. Popped in today and picked up some breakfast items and yummy treats. The store is really cute and the service from Zach was excellent. I ordered a breakfast taco with bacon and it was amazingly good! Small so if you're hungry get two! I wasn't hungry but it was so yummy I wish I had gotten two! I also ordered the Strawberry Shortcake donut and the Churro donut. It was so hard to choose because everything sounds and looks amazing! I'm not a big donut fan to be honest, so I only tried 1/3rd of both and they were delicious, flakey and moist!! I'll save the rest for my hubby and daughter. I also ordered the iced chocolate which was really yummy. I haven't had chocolate milk in years and it brought back memories of my childhood. Really cute new Donut place here in Pleasant Grove. What makes America great? DONUTS! They had plenty of selection and the menus were easy to read and not a lot of confusion or selection to make it hard to choose. They offer real breakfast food and even have lunch options with savory donuts. They have plenty of seating for your family and the place was clean and organized. They have coffee and offers free water station that you don't have to ask for it which I find nice when places offer that. They have 2 chairs up front that are plus size friendly which is a plus. Loooove this place! We live super close, which is a little dangerous because we come way too often. I've tried almost every donut on the menu and haven't been disappointed--my top favorites are the bourbon caramel and raspberry pistachio, while my husband is all about the blueberry. The donuts are croissant-style, so they're lighter and flakier than a regular donut. Coffee is great, the breakfast items are delicious, and the staff is always super friendly. I have LOVED Parlor Doughnuts since Oceanside, CA location and this new spot did not disappoint! Customer service was outstanding and friendly faces behind the counter were eager to help. MUST flavors: Blueberry Hill, strawberry shortcake, and French Toast. Zach, the manager was super personable! Kenzie, the owner, was so welcoming! I also tried their "Passion Mango refresher" and it's the perfect drink for a hot sunny day. Their bacon egg and cheese (on a croissant) is a great breakfast staple on-the-go. I'm honestly not even sure you can call these donuts... They're essentially a croissant with donut style fillings and toppings. Don't get me wrong, they're delicious! But not your typical donut. I was excited to celebrate getting through a rough year and I wanted gf donuts. Drove a half hour to Parlor becuase omg there's gf donuts closer than Bismarck? Amazing. Waited in line for 40 min. The very nice teenager with buzzed bleached hair chatted with me a ton. Informed me the gf donuts are made from bean flour. Well shoot- I'm intolerant of chickpeas. Then he told me it's okay! The keto donuts are almond flour and they're soft and good. Cool. 40 min later my son's donuts come out and they're glorious. He was so happy. Then mine come out and they're significantly smaller than the normal ones. And they costed more. *sigh* well, maybe they're tasty at least. Nope. They were out of forks so I had to eat with my hands and these things fall apart the second you try to pick them up. So now I'm sad bc I feel ripped off and I'm covered in frosting and the owner(?) comes over to ask how they are. I say they're pretty disappointing. And he says "yeah I know they fall apart really easily and they're not as good but if you want no carbs what do you expect?" Wow. Do you think I love that my digestive system is so inflamed I can't even eat normal gluten free options? I was already sad and embarrassed and now you're gonna be defensive with me and reveal that you knew it was an inferior product and you let me spend all that money on it anyway? I wondered if maybe the bean donuts are better but no- I found someone who has tried them and she said she can easily make better gf cake donuts herself at home. I feel disrespected and deceived. Definitely don't come here if you can't eat gluten. The gf donut holes at Trader Joe's are better. Or the mini Freedom donuts at Sprouts. Extra star because the regular donuts are apparently amazing. Recommendations- have sample gf donuts out so people see how small they are and that they don't get the same caliber of toppings despite having the same names as the regular ones before they spend extra money on them. We waited in the long, excited line of people for the opening of parlor donuts. It went outside and around, but it went pretty quickly considering the length of the line. Parlor donuts is new to Utah, in the Pleasant Grove area (a chain that has many other locations in CA, FL, CO, TX, MO, IL, IN, etc.) The building was nice and clean. The employees were nice. There was a big selection of donuts, food, coffee, and drinks. The donuts definitely had a unique shape and flavor. They are all from what I could tell rolled in sugar and then iced and topped accordingly. They were good and really sweet. We ordered a wide selection. Peanut butter cup, maple bacon , bourbon caramel, French toast, and orange dream are some of the favorites. Blueberry was good, cookies and cream, honey glazed and churro as well. The donuts were really soft and tasty but they were also about $48 for 12. So while they were good, I'm not sure if they were $50 good. Did you know the word cronut is a registered trademark? So technically this isn't a traditional donut shop, it's a very bougie new aged croissant donut shop but they can't say cronut cuz Ansel, the creator of cronut protected his fusion name. But that's exactly what you'll get! Delicious crusty sweet layers with cream and/or glaze and/or toppings. I personally love the fruity and cream filled ones more (a little less sweet than the other cake and treat options like s'mores, cookies and cream, caramel, etc). The ambiance inside gives throwback speakeasy vibes, American classy and chic. I felt like I was in the 1920s with the jukebox staring at me, telling me to make a choice! Cuz guess what?! Go with a large group because the choices are slightly overwhelming, this way you can grab a bunch to share from the beautiful assortment of options. I had high hopes for Parlor Donuts given their branding as a modern, "artisan" bakery that welcomes vegan and gluten-free customers. Unfortunately, what they're offering in that category is not just disappointing--it's downright disrespectful. The vegan/gluten-free donuts are tiny--barely a quarter of the size of their regular donuts--and somehow more expensive. That alone might be forgivable if the quality matched the price, but it doesn't. The texture is chalky and dense, the flavor flat and underdeveloped, and the overall product feels like a throwback to the worst days of 1990s "health food" experiments--before anyone knew how to make alternative baking actually taste good. At this point in time, there's simply no excuse for this level of quality. Excellent vegan and gluten-free pastries exist all over the country. We've moved past the era of "well, it's good for gluten-free." It can taste as good as traditional baked goods if you know what you're doing. Parlor Donuts clearly doesn't. For a company that markets itself as inclusive and craft-oriented, this feels lazy and tone-deaf. Those of us with dietary restrictions deserve food that's equally good--not a miniature, overpriced placeholder that seems to exist only so the company can check a marketing box.
