I think that the service and food here is very hit and miss depending on the day you come. I have loved Parlor Doughnuts very much so when I had to schedule an appointment instead of going downtown, I decided to go to Fleming Island because I could stop a Parlor Doughnuts. But it was an overall disappointment. I placed my order online and parked as I was parking. I saw two people walk in and by the time I got out of my car and inside one was with the lady at the espresso machine, and the other was waiting in line by the donuts since I had a pick up order, I went over there to try to pick it up, but the lady fiddling with the machine was the only one visible at the time and she was having a time with that machine. I think by the time the lady waiting got her drink. It was probably a good 10 minutes. Meanwhile, because I have physical issues I sat down to wait. In that time about six other people had come in. Now, suddenly another employee appears, and he pulls out a box for a pick up order and started walking into me and then when I said that's not me he then found one of the other people in line who it was for and she indicated she also wanted to go ahead and get a drink so he started helping her with that despite her being one of the last people to walk in the store. Meanwhile, the other lady finally finished the coffee for the first lady and began making this coffee for the second lady from the pick up order. Meanwhile, the gentleman goes over and skips me who was there first and just getting a pick up order that was already placed and start helping another lady in line when he finishes with her he goes to help another gentleman. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there and I'm just trying to get my order picked up that I had already placed long before any of these people appeared in store. So when I finally got my order, it was a good 20 minute wait in store. As for the food itself, I can't say I felt it was the normal expectations I had of Parlor Doughnuts. I ordered a turtle doughnut, a churro doughnut, and a cookies and cream doughnut for my family. Looks wise, they were OK except for mine. Mine was the turtle donut and sorely lacking on the nuts as you can see in the picture. The other ones looked appealing visually however it stopped right there. Whereas I'm normally accustomed to a crispy outside and a flaky interior. This doughnut had a brown exterior, but it wasn't very crispy and the interior was gummy. Very disappointing. So as far as the atmosphere on that regards, the restaurant is very charming. It's well located for its neighborhood. It's generally clean looking however the floors were very sticky. read more

I love all the unique donuts, the specialty donuts that are made here. It is a hard choice to make with all the different flavors. I am a big fan of all of them actually, but I cannot eat them all by myself so I tend to share they finally have bigger cups for coffee. Is it downfall at first but I love coffee with donuts so I am glad they finally caught on. I love that it's so close to the my house. My favorite is the lemon and or a blueberry and coffee is always good to go with all of them. read more

Hi. So I don't understand. I doordashed (it's not the dasher because the tape to keep the box closed wasn't tampered with) donuts from this place. I tried being peaceful as I find your donuts to be a wonderful experience. I tried calling because I did not want to publicly write a review and cause any damage. Unfortunately, no one was answering. I called repeatedly. Maybe I should've called every hour instead of every couple minutes. Rush hour for yall could be around 1 pm. Sorry I didn't spend my whole day trying to call or predict when you wouldn't be busy. I was extremely upset and tunnelvisioned. To the point: as I was eating, yes, EATING, your strawberry glazed donut, I found a small hair. Now, I know you allow dogs. So, I will whole heartedly assume it was a dog's hair and not a human pubic hair. Btw, I do not own a dog. Or any curly haired animal. I hope in the photos you can see the hair color difference. No one who lives in this house has light brown hair. We're all dark brown. Mind you, this was discovered right after I had opened the box, so there was no time for anyone in this house to bring friends over and enjoy what typically is a delicious feast. I would actually really like you to know how upsetting this is. Your donuts are lovely. I am a fan, but as of now, I am having to force myself not to puke. If this was a long strand of hair, I don't think I would be so upset. But this short piece of hair looks like a pubic, human hair. I would run a DNA test, but I need more than just one hair. They ice and decorate the gluten free ones fresh as you order them. It takes a minute or two which gives you time to order a honey cinnamon cold brew which is amazing and my favorite. The service is always great, the people are friendly and the store is always clean. One of the best donut places in Jacksonville! The shop is small but very clean, cute, and the customer service is outstanding! There is outside seating as well! We went about 45 minutes prior to closing because my dad wanted donuts. I promise we usually don't ever come that late before closing! I'm a naturally happy person and their warm, happy smiles made our day! These donuts are massive and very fluffy! The texture is like between cronut and a brioche donut and the dough layered. There are a lot of variety too! You can get topped, filled, keto, vegan, and gluten free donuts as well! They don't skimp on the toppings and when I opened the box of freshly made donuts, my eyes were huge! My mouth watered so much that my mom had to hand me a napkin haha. They also had cafe drinks and I will come back to try them! We got the following flavors: French toast, raspberry jam, strawberry shortcake, blueberry hill, caramel bliss, cookies and cream, and honey glazed. Let me tell you, ALL of them were at least a 9.7/10. Nothing was overly sweet or overwhelming and you can taste all the fresh toppings on the donuts! The donuts weren't stale at all too! We literally finished the whole box of donuts in ONE night. Once you taste one, it's game over and you have to finish the whole donut! I was able to add lavender syrup to my iced matcha, and it was delicious! They have so many yummy doughnuts to choose from, which made it hard for me to settle on one. I was torn between the coconut cream and the raspberry pistachio, but I ordered the latter. The outside was so light and crispy, and the inside was doughy and soft. Parlor Doughnuts offers up some of the absolute best in Jax. The texture is amazing. It's like a croissant donut, so light and fluffy. It's certainly different. The selection is pretty large, too. Aside from the delicious donuts, they also have sausages biscuits and a couple other items. Their coffee is actually really good as well. We had the maple latte. It had good flavor and wasn't overly sweet. They also have Keto donuts and vegan donuts. This is a fairly new location. It's next to Pearle Vision. There is plenty of parking, so it's easy to access. You have to be here in line 1st come first serve so I think in my opinion that they shouldn't offer you to be able to buy them on their menu and not be able to do it when you come in or be able to buy them now and get them when they make them the next day. We went into this store on a Saturday and it was TWO HOURS until closing time. The case had hardly any donuts, the floor was mopped and the chairs were put away on top of the tables. We were SO confused. We were told they weren't making any more donuts that day. Luckily for us they had a couple left of the ones we wanted. Flash forward about three weeks later, again on a Saturday. We called the store with over an hour left until closing. We asked if they had the type of donut we wanted before we went over there (we were 10 minutes away) She said she did, but "don't come in here with five minutes to spare". Rude but okay. So we show up 10 minutes later and they do NOT have the donuts, and, you guessed it, they refused to make us any. We only wanted four. (Would've settled for two) So the whole slogan about how they will make "small batches" fresh for you, absolute BS, at least at this location. On top of that they speak to you as though you have no right to even ask them for anything. It's sad though, because the donuts are delicious IF you are lucky enough to get one that you want. It was recommended we visit - so with nothing to do, we causally walked in and immediately greeted by the happiest group of teenager smiles. Their hiring process must include lots of bubbles and pearly whites. If you don't have either, this may not be your future employer. Anyway, long story short, they have a super variety of flakey donuts. Haven't tried anything else but then again - why go to a donut place for anything else? OMG best donut I've had in a long time! Stopped by this morning for a quick bite and was immediately engulfed into a sugar coated, creme filled donut dream. My only complaint is there too many tempting flavor options! But you have to be quick with your decision making because the service is speedy. I say just pick with your heart; or go with your gut. That being said, the light, fluffy Chantilly cream atop the strawberry shortcake donut caught my eye. My mom was lured by the sweet, sticky blueberry glaze generously iced on the top of the warm blueberry donut. As much as I would have wished to have enjoyed this delicacy within the lovely store, unfortunately we took it to go. I only say unfortunately because it was just too sad to see such a beauty placed into a box. We took our donuts on the road. It does no justice to eat this while driving: my hands were coated in sugar yet my heart coated with joy. The donuts were warm, light, sweet, and perfectly flaky. 5/5 stars read more
