I had been asked several times for the SAME vehicle information (blamed on a "bot" doing their initial reach out, of course). After getting there, the guy that took the appointment wasn't even there, and the tech didn't even know I had an appointment. He's feverishly making phone calls and getting voicemails. I should have walked, but gave it a few minutes. Daniel at the front desk does not ask me what kind of oil I use, but did say I was not being charged for labor. The bill comes and guess what? I was charged for labor! They used synthetic oil, which I would not have chosen since it costs three times the amount. Total cost? $202 for a dang oil change! Next time I will get a Groupon and go somewhere else!

For some reason, after putting the pan back on, it starting shifting real rough. It felt like I ran over a pot hole when it would down shift from 4th to 3rd. After pleny of online research, I found out that the stupid computer in the van has to be "relearned" after changing the gasket and fluid. Of course, you have to have the proper computer and software to do that. I called around to a bunch of other local transmission shops and got the standard "I know everything because I'm a mechanic and you're a dope wasting my time" attitude from most of the shops. When I called Transmission Sales & Service, the gal who answered was very helpful, didn't talk down to me, and also gave me the cheapest quote! I took the van into them and was treated very well. EVERYONE I worked with was friendly and honest. First, they wanted to drop the pan to make sure I didn't reassemble anything incorrectly, checked the fluid for metal scraps, and then got rid of my "cheap" rubber gasket and used a better sealant to put the pan back on. After they spent that time, they test drove it again and the problem was still there. After that, they went ahead and hooked up the computer to "relearn" my computer. That solved the problem...just like I had hoped it would. After all the time they spent diagnosing, test driving, and checking my work, I figured the bill was going to go up. Nope...exactly what I was quoted is what I was charged. It was an absolute pleasure to do business with them, and I'll definitely be back if I ever have any transmission issues again. I heard them dealing with other customers as well and was always impressed at their honesty and great customer service.

When we brought it back for inspection, we explicitly authorized only diagnostics, not repairs. After being promised a new quote, the company proceeded with an $8,000 rebuild without my authorization. When we called to cancel the work, we were told it was already done. The transmission failed again less than 20 miles after we paid for and picked up the truck. The company then tried to enforce an unauthorized warranty clause that was not part of their standard policy. When we asked to find a middle ground, we were told they would happily remove all the parts and charge us for all the labor. This business performs unauthorized work, charges exorbitant prices, and provides service that fails almost immediately. I have now paid thousands of dollars for a vehicle that is not operational. I strongly advise you to take your business elsewhere.

I got a beater of a truck recently and was looking to get fluids flushed, specifically the transmission, and everyone else's quotes were so much higher that when I got the quote from Villa, I had to ask if it was a mistake. Did it include fluids, filter and gasket change too? You bet! It's crazy, but it's the real deal. Of course, going in for the insanely low pricing, I expected the work to not be fast or good, but I was wrong. The fluid change took maybe 30 minutes, in and out, no issue and the tranny changes gears like butter now. Also, I don't know if these guys noticed my power steering had a 2-inch play gap or not and fixed it for me or if it magically fixed itself, but I've been sitting on taking care of that since I got the truck, and to my surprise when I left, the power steering gap was gone and the steering was perfectly responsive. In either case, I either got great luck or great service. Now, before you go running off, understand this is a small personally-owned (?) shop, so you're not looking at a bunch of whiz-bang when you show up. It's modest and low-key just behind Burger King, but you don't go to a shop for sparkles and workers dressed in tuxedos, you go there for quality work at a good price...and that is Villa for sure. I will absolutely be back for future work if needed.

For a dealer job with OEM parts, this costs around $4500 for the front pair. After doing tons of research, I decided to utilize a quality aftermarket kit. However, when I talked to the dealer, they tried to steer me away from this, and while they said they could do it with aftermarket parts, they seemed very unsure and cited issues with prior customers going this route. Another local shop told me they wouldn't be comfortable replacing just the rotors (they wanted me to bring a factory rotor/hat assembly which is honestly unnecessary if old hats are in good shape). I did not feel very confident with both shops. I reached out to Matsenko on yelp by chance and their tech, William, responded within a couple of hours and knew exactly what I was trying to do. I was honestly surprised at how knowledgeable he was with my specific brake job and decided to give them a shot. They got me in quick, and everything was done by end of next day. The brake job is excellent, there is no noise or judder, and braking action is very smooth. In addition, they did an hvac cleaning for me (i had some contamination in my evaporator core) which another shop tried, and failed, and charged me $500 for the whole ordeal. All of this was done well at a fraction of the cost at Matsenko, and I saved thousands. I am very pleased with everything, and the amount of attention to communication I received is something I rarely see these days. Everyone was also very nice and personable, from the shop owner, to the tech and to reception which is also less common these days. I drove all the way from Olympia to have this done, and when my rear brakes need a swap, I know who I'll be calling Thank you for the wonderful service everyone!
