I called about getting my air conditioning fixed today. They said it was going to be 250 to do a diagnostic even though I had one from the dealership they said that they had to do their own, which doesn't make sense to me. It's from the Chevy dealership my God it's authentic. So just by that being said I was going to go there because of the reviews, but the lady was pretty rude on the phone when I called made me feel dumb. No, I did not know all the wording she was saying. because I'm not a mechanic and I'm a girl this is her filled of employment not mine But she acted like I needed to know all the wording she uses. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!! unless you want to get ripped off. Quoted the work at 2.5 hours (supposedly - they told my wife 3-4 hours when she brought the car in for an estimate). $150/hr is stupid expensive- but pretty much going rate. They drove my car in at 9:15 and called at 10:35 to say the car was done (1.25 hrs) - of course that's assuming they started on it the second they drove it into the bay & called us the minute they drove it out - unlikely! so i paid $425 in labor for an 1.25 hrs work (parts, etc on top of that). that folks is a RIP OFF!! what really scares me is two other reputable garages told me the job was a min 3-4 hr job... so what didn't they do?!?! read more

Went in for brakes, super affordable in comparison to other quotes. My brakes were squeaking. Turns out I don't need new brakes. They readjusted them for $20 and sent me on my way. They could have just as easily replaced my brakes and charged me and I wouldn't have known the difference. That's integrity and honesty you don't find in most auto shops. read more

I am so very happy with this Tacoma location- the front staff are all very helpful, and explain quotes and the vehicle issues clearly. I recently had my driver's side mirror broken off my Subaru Forester in a hit and run, and they made the effort to get quotes of local Subaru parts, plus talk me through the estimate for repairs. And then, in a miraculous effort, Andrew (the awesome mechanic) was able to snap my mirror back into place, and relieve all of my mirror stress, and the danger of not being able to see on the left side of my vehicle!!! I have taken my car to two other places to get the brakes done. I had major squeeling happening, and neither place could get it fixed. So I took my car to Good Judy's, and they analyzed the problem, explained what the cause was, gave me a quote, and stuck to the price of the quote. My mechanic gave me a quote for other pads, and we went with them. I has fixed the problem. Good Judy's is a breath of fresh air compared to the other shops around. They are great. To talk about what happened... no responses. That's not somebody you want to do business with., NOLAN is the WORST manager. He doesn't know what he's doing and LACKS communication just like the owners. My car was there for months, took them months to even look at it. After the reps looked, they didn't know what to do... so, Nolan wanted to look at it. THAT took more weeks. I had to CALL to ask about it. He finally called me back. He couldn't solve the issue. Nolan was going to look at scrap prices and get back to me... but what do you know? He didn't. Then he went on vacation when I called back. I was told he would call me when he returns.. no calls... let me call them and see what's been going on these last few weeks... SURELY he has to be back. Oh, no answer no call back... I call AGAIN. This time I'm told the OWNER, Emiliana came in and said a bunch of cars HAVE to go... Apparently mine was considered one of the "abandoned" cars.... abandoned... crazy considering I had to call for my car multiple times to recieve an update. So my car got auctioned off and somehow... the new ppl got the car running within 3 weeks of being auctioned but Emily's Garage had it for MONTHS and couldn't fix a thing. Owner is refusing to call or talk about the situation at all after their mistake. HORRIBLE owners, HORRIBLE management, HORRIBLE mechanics, HORRIBLE communication, HORRIBLE shop. Took my inspection to A1 instead where it doesn't matter if you have the key or not as long as it starts with the phone. Complete waste of time. I had a good experience here this week and wish I could have gotten my car fixed. Unfortunately my insurance has deemed it totalled based on the year/mileage and frame damage. They fit me in within about 9 days of our firsr call, and most body shops around here are quoting 6-8 week waits. They provided a free estimate and passed my key on to a tow truck my insurance set up. They also let me leave my car there for 2 days until my insurance processed everything. This review is for their front desk manager and their estimate process. I cant speak to their repair work but they were very busy and seem extremely popular. read more

I had a great experience with my 2:30 appointment with Emily's garage today. My truck was making some concerning noises that they agreed to check out for me. I was greeted by Dee (I believe that was her name) at the front counter. She was very polite and helpful. She got me checked in on time and had the mechanic looking into the issue promptly. My mechanics name was Nolan, he test drove the truck and diagnosed the issue very quickly. You can tell he was knowledgeable, and confident in his verdict. He even went out of his way to explain to me why the part was acting up, and what may have caused the issue. I was quoted for a full hour in diagnostic fees but was only charged for 30 minutes because they figured out the problem so quickly. I appreciate the honesty, and fairness they showed me. I definitely recommend and will come back when my truck acts up again. read more

My Honda Element was not starting reliably. I managed to limp it into this garage. They diagnosed it as a a starter and replaced it for about $800 and did it with 3-4 days. Given the state of the world, this felt not insane. Unfortunately, the starter failed the next week. I called them and they were utterly and appropriately gracious. I live a ferry ride away, so they were willing to pay for the tow. (AAA ended up covering the towing.) The fixed it the next business day for no charge. One of their associates--Di--even drove over after hours, so I could pick it up. The mark of good service to me is not whether or not not nothing goes wrong--bad parts happen anywhere--but do they take taking responsibility and fix it expeditiously when it does. I got an oil change here on Thursday, December 26. Friday morning when I got into my car it began shaking and acting like it wanted to lose power. This morning, Saturday the 28, it did the same thing only worse. After warming up it stops and doesn't do it again until the engine completely cools again. Looking on the online forum for Fiat owners I found a thread of someone who had the same problem. They were told by others to check the oil cap, dip stick, oil level, and oil bolt. All things were as they should be, except the oil level, which was over the full marker. Now I get to go to Autozone to get the oil, spending more money on top of the $67 already spent, to drain the oil and add the correct amount. I originally went here instead of doing it myself because of the constant raining, and not having a covered area to do it under. Now I have to still do it on the cold wet ground on a day when it is not raining. I have to hope that the overfilling of it does not ruin my engine until next weekend when I will have the time to do it. Not happy right now! read more

I am sad to write this review. I towed my car to get a $1400.00 job completed to fix all leaking gaskets. They told me they were busy, I said that is fine. Long story short due to poor communications, after 3 weeks no repairs were made and no estimate given. After I had it towed away, 2 days later, I got an estimate. I did respond to the estimate on website, over voicemail, and via email. A total of 5 requests for date to bring it back in to see them. No response. I contacted them several times as their past work and customer service was very good. Apparently, things have changed and I can no longer endorse them. read more

I LOVE this business, and I cannot recommend them enough. I am based out of San Francisco but frequently visit the northwest and other regions for work, as a mobile physician and massage therapist. I own a diesel VW Golf, which can be a pain to work on myself because I need special tools for it. I made an appointment with them, and sure enough, a special tool was required which they did not have. I was only in town for 3 days, and the part would not come until the following week. I spoke to Nolan, and after he had learned how much driving I had done to get there (I drove to WA straight from Los Angeles, CA), he did all he could to ensure my car was safe to drive back. He went above and beyond--sourced the tool, had it delivered to his own home, and he worked with Dee to move appointments around the following day to get the job done before I had to leave town. I know this isn't typical, and they're always busy, but they made it happen in my limited time frame. I just couldn't believe the effort put in by the team here to accommodate one customer. I even got to meet Emily and her husband while waiting. They're amazing people, they're humble, honest, and incredibly hard-working. The whole team is. Very special thank you to Nolan (who also happens to be a European car specialist!) for ensuring I travel safely. I don't trust my vehicles with anyone else. I never have to worry about them upcharging me, but even if I found better rates elsewhere, I wouldn't trust the detail of work nearly as much and would rather support these people whom I know also value me as a person, not just a customer. read more

The best place in Tacoma! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. I went in to do maintenance on my car. I had 190k on my car and needed to do a lot of maintenance for it and Emily's garage gave the best rate. Talking to Mike on the phone you already get a genuine vibe from him and meeting him in person solidified how down to earth and caring he is about his customers and people. He was very knowledgeable and wasn't pushy on things. He listed all the things that needed to be done and had me decide what was best. The repairs were already adding up and we havent even gotten to the engine yet!
