This business is no longer Cocca's as it was brought out by Marcella's Appliance Center. It's still…read moreat the same location that Cocca's was. Our washing machine had gone to the happy hunting grounds and I had purchased many things from Cocca's in the past so decided to give them another try for a new washer. I was surprised to see that it had been taken over by Marcella's which I knew nothing about. My wife and I were greeted by a representative by the name of Peter Harvey, who was extremely personable and listened to what we wanted. I had done my homework in advance and knew exactly what brands I was interested in. Peter honored my interest in only those brands and proceeded to show us several models that fit the features I was looking for. We did end up selecting one of the models I went in looking for and found Peter to be a great representative not only did he explain all the features, but he showed us a model of the same brand that we wanted that was on a major clearance sale and actually had more features than the one we had actually looked at. In the end, we did end up purchasing the clearance model and there was an accessory that went with it and we got a price and I didn't particularly like the price so I asked them to do better and without hesitating Andrew, the customer service manager there took $100 off the price that I didn't like Sometimes you just have to ask the question. Andrew was really great about it. He didn't give us any attitude to make it look like he was doing us a favor. He just wanted to continue my previous relationship with the business. Because Peter and Andrew were so nice, we also purchased the extended warranty, which added an extra five years to the manufacturers Warranty. Normally I don't purchase aftermarket warranties, but the price was extremely reasonable, I thought, and the presentation was very friendly and not pushy at all. Peter set up for delivery within two days and so far the experience has been extremely positive. I may come back and post how the delivery goes since they are delivering the new one and removing the old one all for extremely reasonable charge.

This is now Marcella's of Albany. I bought my dishwasher there 13 years ago when it was Cocca's…read moreand I was pleased. Our Refrigerator died and we went to all the big box stores looking for a new one. Had lot's of information. Decided to add Marcella's to the list before we were done for the day. Not only did Ned, who took care of us, know more about the products we had looked at previously, their prices were the same or better. They charged less for warrentee and installation and take away. It was a no brainer. So if your in the need for an appliance, add them to your list along with the big box stores!

I moved to this area and into my house just over 3 months ago. My gas oven started making an odd…read morenoise when coming up to temperature. Once at desired temp, no noise was made. I took the bottom of the oven apart and watched the flame when I turned it on. The flame would go up and back down, over and over until it reached the temperature. I took a video of this, showed it to a family member who recommended I go to Rensselaer Appliance. I went there the next morning and was told that they didn't sell that brand of appliance but would order the part and install it. I was quoted a price and then asked if I would be putting good money into something that it would be better to replace. Bottom line was fix it. The service tech that came was Mike. He was polite, professional, thorough and obvious to me he knew exactly what he was doing. When it came to pay, the invoice did not have a breakout of the cost of the part nor labor. When I questioned this, Mike very politely said charges are by the job and if I had questions I should call the store which I did after he left. (I had no problem with Mike, he was just doing his job.) I spoke with the owner asking for the cost of the part and was told he didn't know what it was that he had ordered it. I asked wouldn't there be paperwork for that and he said he would have to look into it and call me back. When he called back he was not courteous nor pleasant in any way especially when I questioned the charge for labor. Mike was here, start to finish for 45 minutes. The labor cost for a 45 minute repair was $279.54. When I questioned (the owner) this he told me they charge by the job and the next time to go somewhere else! He was extremely professional, rude and condescending to me and yes Bob, I will go elsewhere and never set foot in your store again. I was very, very disappointed, to say the least with this overall experience and how I was treated. As an fyi, I have never written a review about any business prior to this. I was treated so unprofessionally, I just could not let this go unspoken.

Had my stackable washer/dryer replaced today by Ackerman's. My dealing with this company from the…read morevery beginning was one of efficiency, professionalism and reliability. They called to let me know when the appliances would be in and when they would be installed. No excuses, no delays and no nonsense - they were right on target which is unbelievable in todays market when everything is on backorder. The installers were clean and very respectful of my property. Whatever problems they encountered they handled without any hassles or extra cost. I highly recommend this company. Maria C

I chose them over a competitor twenty-five miles closer to me because of their reputation for honest dealing and skilled service technicians. Over the past twenty years, I have found this to be the case. I recently replaced my original dw with a new Asko from Ackerman's, whose technician and I ran into problems that called for an oscillating saw (neither of us had one and it would have taken an hour to locate and obtain one from a neighbor) but were solved with hammer, chisel, muscle, and skill (none of it mine). Really impressive.
