So my review is for the service department for Lexus. I just want to start out with explaining my stars. Honestly I'd give 3/5 stars, but I chose to be kind and give them 4 because I know how ratings can affect them and they did try to make things right. I purchased my GX550 at another dealership, however this is the closest Lexus service department to my home. Pulling up, this is one of the larger service departments I've been too. Beautiful dealership in all. They have three very spacious pull up lines in the service drive, lots of guys on drive going to each vehicle and assigning them to Service Advisors. I had a young man named Sal, he was very polite. I had made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation for 7:45 AM. I'm only at 5k miles and I'm aware they recommend 10k; but it's hot in Texas, it was the first oil change and I wanted it done. Wasn't worried about paying for it. When Sal asked what I was there for; I told him I needed the oil changed and the tire rotation. He said Lexus does the complimentary 10k oil change; I replied back with I know I don't mind paying for the oil change. Also told them not to run it through the wash since my car is ceramic coated. That's where I believe there was a miscommunication. He must've taken my response and just going with what he was telling me and I unfortunately thought he understood what I was telling him in wanting it changed at 5k. Now walking me towards the door to go inside (I've never been here before) I just turned back a little lost, then he asked is this your first time here; and I said yes. He did give a quick tour of the waiting area, restrooms and beverage area. He told me it shouldn't be more than an hour and a half and because they didn't have to run it through the car wash it might even be quicker. About an hour and 40 minutes pass and Sal comes to tell me my car is ready and to follow him to get checked out. Hands me my paperwork and goes over everything they did and said the tire rotation was done complimentary and when I come back at 10k they'll take care of my oil change. I was puzzled and said wait you didn't do the oil change. He goes back the Lexus verbiage of well Lexus recommends it done at 10k. I replied back with I realize that but I wanted it done at 5k regardless. I could tell he realized he messed up, he swiftly apologized and said he could get it done in 30 minutes to an hour. I had a planned out day preparing for my husband's birthday. So the wait was really inconvenient. I apologized too saying I'm sorry about the misunderstanding because I thought you knew I wanted the oil change. Inside I'm definitely annoyed but I go back and sit in the waiting area. Ten minutes maybe go by and he comes to me with a rental. He apologized and said I remembered you saying you had a busy day ahead and I just wanted to offer the rental so that you can still get the things you need done. I really appreciated the gesture; of course I was happy with that outcome. I asked how long it would be he said an hour tops; but I could come back anytime before 6. I only had a few errands in Plano so I wasn't going to be that long. He walked me out to the drive and to the car. Here's where I feel he should've asked if I was familiar with this model. Because I was not, the opening of the doors the shifter; was totally different from mine and honestly I did have issues with the shifter. I did figure it out, but I feel those are questions you should ask. I return about 2 hours later and find Sal. He gets me checked out and again apologizes. I told him it was fine, and then tells me to bring my paper to a desk outside by the drive. The young man there gets a porter to get my car, they pull it up. I ask where I can pull up to transfer all the things from my errands from the rental to my car. He just says in front of it is fine. I do it, bring back the keys and I leave. I didn't have a horrible experience, yes it wasn't a perfect one either. I understand mistakes happen and I wasn't even hung up on the fact that the oil change didn't get done; Sal I feel did a great job in making that right with the rental car. My issue is that the tire rotation almost took 2 hours without the oil change.... That's a long time. Plus being my first time there I just expected a different experience at Lexus vs all the other service departments I've been to. This will be my home service department for a while so I hope my next experience is better. read more

I have never had a worse experience with a dealership than here. When I serviced my vehicle the loaner I got had less than a quarter of a tank and I was told to return it with the same amount of gas and to not drive that many miles on it. I serviced my other car at the BMW across the street and they gave me a car with a full tank and had no worries of what it was returned with or how much I drove. Terrible customer service and dealer experience. I enjoy my Lexus and will continue to use other Lexus dealers for my purchases and servicing . I also tried to get the Lexus parking pass where they would not give me the sticker unless I bought my car with them. They then said we will give you it only if you service your car with us. They then made me book my service which is when I had the experience above. This dealer does not care about their customers nor do they value a relationship. So been going to Park Place for several years. Jordan Cole Case was my service rep and he was outstanding, however he's no longer with Park Place or in another role. This will be my last visit with Park Place and I will explain below. Scheduled a service appointment for my 2013 LS460 after hearing a rumbling noise under the hood. The on-line scheduling was simple and easy, but at the conclusion of scheduling the appointment, I was prompted by a message "We are in need of cars like your vehicle, answer a few question for an instant appraisal". I answered the questions and received an appraisal of roughly $9,000 for my car in which I promptly declined. Recently was offered $12,000 by CarMax and a local dealer while considering an newer LS model. No harm...No Foul and I appreciated the simplicity in the process. Took my car in for service, met my service rep, received a loaner, and was out the door within minutes. Park Place does an awesome job at receiving your car and getting you settled or off to work. IMPORTANT: That day I received two calls about the $9,000 appraisal of my car and if I wanted to move forward with the sale. Again I promptly declined both offers The next day I received a text and e-mail with an assessment of my car, and an estimate for the repairs. (see below) Front Control Arms and Bushing Repair $7,000+ Replace Engine Mounts $3,600+ Sagging Transmission Mount $400+ Coolant Plate Leak $4,500+ Coolant Fan Motor Replacement $1,300+ (My original issue) 4 Wheel Alignment $220+ "Transmission Making Rubbing Noise" Replace Transmission $12,600 TOTAL = $31,300+ in recommended repairs for a vehicle that has always been, and continues to run in great condition. This was Park Place's attempt to convince me that my car is a piece of junk, and force consideration of their $9,000 offer. I had them replace the coolant fan and my car is back to the reliable Toyota product that it has been. This will be my last time at Park Place as I can not trust an establishment that will use these techniques on a loyal and long-time customer. Never have I been to a dealership where the salesman tells me we are marking this car up $12,000 over sticker because we can. And if you don't buy it the next person will. We left and went to Grapevine Lexus owned by Park Place, found the car my wife wanted, but was told we can't sell it to you as it came from the factory, we have to put over size tires on it and mark it up $8000. We told him we will pay cash for it as it is and was told the same thing Park Place said.... If you don't buy it the next person will. Decided to get an oil change and inspection for trip preparation as well as the upcoming end of my CPO warranty. Figured I'd let them check the car out and if there was anything wrong, they would find it, as they have in the past. Oil change....the usual, great job! The inspection sadly did not find any CPO related covered items....they did find some needed maintenance items that weren't expensive...really, a service item that wasn't expensive. Haha. They offered a complimentary car wash! They did not try to sell you anything extra that you did not want. Time was great did not take long! After a little over a year my 2018 Rx L-Certified preowned car went in for the 3rd of 4 included service appts. I was provided of a long list of "highly recommended" repairs all of which were costly. The manager worked with me on some of the items. Not quite sure I should be having extensive repairs at this point at 46,000 miles. Since my last scheduled service, it is now making a jerking motion when I'm slowing down. Also, when I press on the accelerator, there's a huge lag time before it kicks in to actually accelerate. ***CUSTOMERS/FUTURE CLIENTS BE AWARE, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS DEALERSHIP*** Extremely bad customer experience for following reasons: 1. The dealership uses an extremely shady, dishonest body shop (BodyWerks Plano, located off Commerce and Plano Pkwy), where the shop staff asked my family member to "pre-pay" the work that needed to be done, instead of billing the insurance company when the repair was finished. 2. Due to a long, extensive wait period to repair the hail damage to the vehicle, my family member use his insurance rental allowance initially. What made it absolutely disgusting was the dealership absolutely refused to provide a loaner/courtesy when my family member ran out of rental allowance from the insurance, the dealership said "We will expedite your repair". During the process, the dealership NEVER offer a loaner, not even remotely mentioning it. Due to the reasons mentioned above, current/future buyers be aware of this dealership and Park Place Brand (Asbury Automotive Group as the parent company), they DID NOT care about the customer(s) after the vehicle was sold. Very unhappy with my experience with Antonio as well as Bryan Black. Brought my car in to have checked out. It was never fully explained to me what was determined via the diagnostic. To clean to Axel mating/wheel hub Park Place was going to charge $900 - took to Discount directly after and they said they could do that for $20 but advised I saw my mechanic because it was a bigger issue. To give you price comparison... Lexus was going to charge me $900 vs $20 to provide generalized cleaning? To completely change axel at mechanic with new part is going to be $1100. I asked to speak with the service manager: Bryan Black who was incredibly rude and condescending. Antonio was not easily accessible by phone/text throughout the day. I just received a link to itemized issues with my car. When I told him Antonio I was unhappy with customer service it was a long list of excuses and that his shift ended at 5pm. I let him know I was heading that way at 4:30. I took my car in for routine service back in January and was given a list of 5 items labeled as " Needs Immediate Attention". One of the items was the battery that they stated failed the load test. Given one or two unusual and questionable items on the list I decided to first have the battery checked at NTB and they stated it passed the load test. I did however end up purchasing a battery at NTB as clearly there was an error somewhere and I didn't want to risk being stranded. Another item flagged on the list were rear brake pads which Lexus stated were down to 3mm and needed replacement. Given the discrepancy with the battery, I took my car to a local mechanic to inspect and he said they are at 6mm and definitely do not require new pads. I can't help but feel that Lexus has been dishonest with me for their own personal gain. read more

The LS430 rack & pinion steering was acting up. A friend recommended Park place. From our initial contact with the folks there were friendly and helpful. They issued us a rental car. Always great service and customer service is important to me.I went to a name brand auto place for maintenance and they actually messed up my car. Took my car to Lexus to fix the other company's mistake and they reassured me that my car will be fixed and give me a loaner so I could do errands since it was the weekend. PP Lexus fixed my car and washed it. Having a Lexus is great but having great service is even better and hard to find these days. I will always take my car to Lexus service department even if it's more expensive. So I wanted to adjust my tires. Couldn't find the lug nut key. So I called PLL and got John in parts. This guy gets a GOLD Star. Sir they are only about $19. But if you can, look under the cover in the back where the spare tire is. Most times, that is where you should find it. Yes it was. Took my brand new LX570 in for its first service , service area was clean , the service advisor got me in and out very quick , they rotated the tires and changed the oil and gave me a complimentary wash . Turns out the technician left the oil plug loose !!! Car smelt like oil on the way home just thought it was due to having it first oil change maybe . A few days later I noticed a oil puddle under the car , I called Lexus and they said bring it right in and we will put you in a loaner but I live 2 hours away , at this poimt I was to afraid to drive a leaking oil car back to them , took it to a local mechanic and he showed me they forgot a tighten the oil plug , there was oil all under my brand new 5000 miles LX570 needless to say good service but I wish the technician would take more care of the cars they are working on . read more

I have had zero issues with Park Place in the last three years that we have been a customer... Until yesterday. As of January 1, 2019, they decided as a company to start charging customers for the tolls when they give a loaner car. It's a relatively small thing, however when they have created a standard of customer service and then they make a change like that, obviously to cut cost for themselves, it is an incredibly bad look on them. I also received a loaner car with less than 1/4 tank of gas, which has never been the case, they have always been full or close to full. I drive a lot for work so I probably had to fill up the tank. They have had my car for about 28 hours, just for the routine 40,000 mile maintenance. I don't leave many negative reviews, but I really hope someone in management has a chance to read this and understand how cutting small corners makes a big impact on active customers and acquiring new customers. The other big dealership player in Dallas (rhymes with Jewell) does not charge customers tolls on loaners. Not a good look Park Place! read more

Historically, we've had a great experience. But today my husband dropped off our Lexus for service. The loaner they gave us has a HUGE crack down the middle of the windshield. Seriously? They even marked it on the loaner paperwork. In many states it would be illegal to drive with such a large crack... Surprised they'd lend it out in this condition. Park Place Lexus Plano service center damaged my almost new SUV. They don't repair using factory trained technician and don't use factory sepc during repair: Within few months after I bought the new SUV from Park Place Plano, when it had less than 3K miles in the odometer, I had to take my SUV to Park Place Lexus service center at Plano to have it repaired after a failed attempt of catalytic converter theft with the hope to have work done at Lexus dealer by Lexus trained technician with OEM parts. I was worng.. Day after I picked up my SUV from Park Place after repair, I turned ignition switch on and saw check engine light and several brake malfunction warning signs on the dashboard. I took SUV back to the Park Place again. They looked at it and said the problem came from the impact damaged O2 sensor, that need to be replaced. Since O2 sensor was damaged by impact, as they said, the service is out of warranty and I have to pay for the repair. I was wondering how could it be damaged by an impact since I just drove it home after repair and next morning warning sign started showing up. I paid out of pocket for this repair. Since I paid for it I collected the O2 sensor that they said damaged by external impact. I inspected the O2 sensor for the sign of impact damage but there was no visible sign of any impact damage, not even a scratch on the external body. Few weeks after O2 replacement work by Park Place, exactly same error message returned. Since Park Place already repaired the same issue and issue returned again, this time I took my SUV to a different Lexus dealer to see what they diagnose for the very same issue Park Place repaired. I didn't tell them about the previous repair. Other dealership diagnosed the issue and found that O2 that Park Place had replaced before, they over torque and damaged it (this is the 2nd damaged O2 sensor). They also found damaged exhaust system mounting stud damaged during exhaust system work by over torquing by Park Place. They checked the service record to find who worked before and made that damage. Fortunately I didn't take SUV back to Park Place this time or they would've said again another impact damaged O2 and they charge me again for out another out of warranty work putting all the blame on me. Other dealership removed and replaced the damaged stud damaged O2 sensor and made Park Place pay for it. And worse, had this issue didn't return again, I would have to drive the SUV in unsafe condition with damaged stud risking my family's safety. I have written diagnosis report of the findings from other dealership. I also have inspected the original O2 sensor that Park Place had replaced first time saying it was damaged by impact, and as you can see in the picture, it has clear sign of over torque damage at the hex neck. Since O2 sensors damage was done by two technicians on two different service instances, I can say their technicians are not factory trained and they don't follow factory spec. Their service advisor also lies to fetch money as they did in my case. Not sure how many vehicles they are damaging... I will never go back to Park Place for my vehicle service.... read more

Brought my car here after a local auto shop did a botched job on my Lexus. My car was having suspension problems, pulling to the right. The dealership told me replacing a bolt and getting an alignment would fix my problem. Replacing a bolt sounds stupid now that I think of it, especially for $177, and another shop had told me there's no way one single bolt could be causing this problem, but putting my trust in the dealership I proceeded to get it done. Guess what? It still pulled to the right. AND after the work was done they told me it was a different issue, the lower control arm, which would cost me $2,000. I opted not to do this. My other issue was all the lights in my dashboard had mysteriously turned on and my ABS stopped working. To fix it, they replaced an actuator which cost $3,500. And they found a leak in my radiator, add $900. I should've gotten a second opinion on this because now I don't even know if I believe it. Usually at other dealerships, the diagnostic fee is absorbed into the cost of repairs but I still had to pay $100. Really? After a total bill of $5,000 you still wanted my measly $100? And you didn't even fix my problem! I drove my car 1,000 miles back home to a shop that I trusted and turns out there's not a problem with my suspension at all. My wheels are bent. Glad I decided not to replace my lower control arm, eh? Since the dealership couldn't find what was wrong with my car, they pulled something out of the air and charged me a ridiculous amount for it. Replacing a bolt $177, alignment $150, diagnostic fee $100. $427 for NOTHING! I could have used that money to buy new wheels and really fixed my issue. read more

Terrible attitude of service people. Service experience is no different than going to any other average mechanic except they charge way more at this place. Might be worth it if the experience was good. But don't expect that at this place. If you don't like it when people talk to you in a condescending way, don't go here. I literally walked out of the place and told them to give me my car back and cancel my appointment after meeting with the service guy. My last three visits have all been bad so I will not be going back. Even tried to speak with a manager and they didn't return my call. Will check out Sewell who I've heard has excellent service. Will not be buying anymore from this place either as I am in the market. I recently purchased cars from park place Mercedes and had a good experience with sales. We were in the DFW metro area looking for a house to buy and needed service. Out of convenience, I just went to Park Place Lexus Plano. I was blown away by the level of service that was provided by Park Place, especially given the size! Pricing for service was overall right around what I expected from a Lexus dealership. Alex, my advisor, listened to my concerns, and offered a loaner car even thought I didn't reserve one (since I have concerns with the car shaking at highway speeds). The techs were able to diagnose a bent rim as being the culprit. Agreed to just have Park Place send out the rim for the repair out of convenience and having the loaner car. While the rim took a bit longer than anticipated to repair, Alex and Park Place kept me in the loop and took care of me. A wonderful experience for service! read more

I had mentioned I was short on time, so the one stop paperwork deal they do is great. I only dealt with her, and was out in around 2 hours, which I thought was pretty good. I went in for service with my Lexus here to resolve some manufacturer issues and my service advisor (Richard Russel) was very courteous and prompt. The waiting area is, as others said, plush and comfortable, I was able to get work done while they worked on my car. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, M&Ms, nuts, newspapers, TV, wifi and computers! I bought an NX here 6 months ago and brought it in today for my first oil change. When I bought the car I was told I would receive complimentary car washes with each service. But they admitted that the sound system in my ES350 was built to be defective (virtually no sound from the rear speakers and won't hold bluetooth sync) and there was absolutely nothing they could do about it. I complained to Lexus and they essentially told me to pound sand, since all the 2019 ES350's were substandard and they weren't going to do anything about it. So this, my NINTH Lexus since 2004, is my LAST Lexus. Specifically, owners report that the stereo system in these vehicles delivers subpar sound that is sometimes hard to listen to at low or normal conversational volume levels, which is especially problematic when calls are made through bluetooth. The sound problem has been described by some owners as sounding like a majority of the sound is coming directly from the front center speaker, diminishing the full-range potential of the system.
