It was $45 for two pairs of shoes and a lane for one hour (I'm unclear if this amount included 4 shoes because two friends joined late and didn't have to pay for shoes). 5-pin bowling that is great for kids and adults. They have things to help young kids bowl where they can drop the ball down a little slide to make it easier. I think they do private parties as well. I don't think this place has seen much update since I was a kid, but it's just fine for a night out. The graphics on the bowling screen are really old - probably from the 2000s - but, it tracks your score. Family friendly, or for those looking for a little night out, this place can be enjoyed by anyone. There is a basic snack bar that serves bottles of beer, chips and things like that. It's in the middle of a strip mall, with a teeny tiny sign, and you need to go into a door that leads to a stairwell that either goes up to doctors' offices, or down to the bowling. This is bowling as I remember as a kid. They still have the seats that are stuck to the tables but swivel out! There's also a snack bar serving pogos, chips, pop and booze. I think they also do glow in the dark bowling. The one staff person who was there was super nice and great. The shoes were regulation meh, but the place is clean. There are lockers you can rent and a water fountain. It seems that the level of enjoyment you'll get out of the place hinges on how good you are at it. I'm decent. It was a fun time, but the area is kind of sketchy.

They were repairing half of the lanes (the ones on one side), so they weren't usable, however they had several lanes available. Didn't notice any (intentional) rudeness, so all-in-all in that respect, I was pretty happy. Assuming the pricing on their website is correct, the regular prices are pretty decent for most days/nights. We got popcorn with the voucher I had, which ended up being very good. It did make us thirsty though, so I guess that was part of how they made some extra cash off of us :-) The location for me as well as my friend I went with wasn't ideal, so mainly due to that reason, it's not likely I'd return. It definitely adds to the whole experience. What I like about this place is that it's more than just bowling. They also have laser tag and an arcade area with classic games and claw machines. The arcade isn't very big, but it still has enough to keep kids entertained. Pricing is on higher $49.99/hour per lane on weekdays and $69.99/hour on weekends, with VIP lanes available for an extra $10. Shoe rental is extra. They sell food and drinks on site, so there's a bag check at the entrance. It can get busy on weekends, so I'd recommend booking ahead. Overall, it's a solid indoor family spot -- especially during colder months -- and we'd definitely come back again!

This is how an arcade should reinvent itself…read more We were glad to find this Playdium location in Whitby years after the original Square One location closed. The arcade space here is massive featuring many games as well as an elevated rope course and several air hockey tables. We took advantage of the $20 eat up game on deal for kids to have a meal and 1 hr all-you-can-play which can be activated after the meal is eaten to maximize the fun including claw machines. Card fee is extra but can be recharged via a prior game card. There is a large dining space in addition to the party runs ideal for group gatherings. The kids meals were huge, including large pizza slices or burgers that came with fries and a pop drink. Suffice to say our group had a great time at Playdium Whitby for several hours. We miss the old batting diamond at the OG location but this reinvention with Cineplex targets younger kids. Skip it or hit it? Playdium is once again a great place to play and we're glad they're popping up all over the GTA including at this Whitby location.
